 Yay - this week's Clean & Simple #255 was just perfect for the Tag It stamp set. I also took a crack at the patterned window sheets we sometimes get in our DSP packs - I really find those challenging to work with. Today I finally realized that I could float them over card stock and make it look like any color DSP I wanted! Woot! Eureka! Today's fresh and bright color combo comes courtesy of the Color Coach, too. This card matches my toenails right now!  What a fun sketch this week from Paper Craft Crew #56! Another chance to play more with my aqua painter, turns out - I'm loving that with the Truly Grateful set! Looking at my supply list, I've come to realize that I'm a kitchen sink kind of aqua painter, too - I just start pulling out colors, "Hm, this looks like Fall, and this, and this, and this, and this...  Time for my last August "All Goes" challenge inspiration at My Pumpkin Challenge! I have to tell you - there are some "seriously" awesome projects this month! Have no fear of the pumpkin - we are bringing you the hip and out-of-the-box creative, all in one pumpkin patch! Amazing! For my final August offering, I unearthed an old set of "love note" blanks and envelopes - I think they were in a grab bag of goodies I got a few years back, giggle! I think of Love Notes as something like the size that comes in your flower delivery - remember those? Handy little notes to give with a quick gift - I have them all bagged and ready to go!  Low, I can't believe I've managed to combine TWO challenges this week - In{k}spire Me's #110 and Fab Friday #25! What a fun way to tackle a color challenge, too! I hope the stars align like this more often, lol! To get started on this one, I decided to cruise the stamp shelves and see what was feeling lonely. That was when I realized - how can I only have used Bombs Away Birthday one time?? Let's dress that baby up with some "girly" grunge! This is still my fave sentiment from this set, too - can you tell what my personal birthday hang-up is??  This week marks' Freshly Made Sketches 100th challenge! In celebration of that, they brought back their very first sketch ever for us to play with - and it's still cute! I'm still working to fill in my scripture card box, so let's have a little Psalm 19 this week, shall we? I'm still loving this Afternoon Picnic DSP, too, and with this card, I discovered that my pack actually had an extra sheet in it! And the crowd goes wild! Lol, it actually really threw me - I thought maybe I had gotten and consolidated 2 packs in my sleep or something... But I didn't! It's a bonus!  OK, I'm totally not sure about this card I made for Retro Sketches #77 this week. I LOVE the idea of this sketch - some kind of shadow cut out that highlights an image or sentiment. Just not feeling too sure that I executed what I had hoped. I decided I wanted to pull out By The Tide, and play with the coral branch stamp, I envisioned peeking in at a fishy swimming around in the branches. It worked, I think, maybe I just feel stymied by trying to keep it spare for a man card... At least I got to watercolor the fishy - yay!  OK, I'm not too proud to admit that this month's class treat was totally from a kit! While at Convention 2013, I was SO lucky to receive one of the Simply Created Real Red Goodie Gear kits - it was just too tempting to not save it to share with you all at our card class! The kit is amazing - 10 little treat bags, 10 little Crumb Cake tags (smaller than the Chalk Talk tag, fyi), 10 little Island Indigo Baker's Twine ties, beaucoup Real Red stripey tape, and 10 die cut little banners ready for stamping, along with the adorable Oh Goodie stamp set. 15 minutes and a bag of kisses later, we were all set! These kits are a screaming sweet deal!

So, here are our bonus class projects - another reversible clothespin wreath! We'll be doing one for Halloween - "Spooky" and one for Thanksgiving - "Thankful." All materials prepped and ready for you, and as an added bonus, we'll be using some of the Paper Pumpkin background stamps as well - perfect, right?? These are also shown at My Pumpkin Challenge, of course - woo hoo! Make sure to RSVP for Thursday, Aug 29 at 6:30 pm for evening, or Friday, August 30 at 930 am for the day class. Can't wait to see you all! PS. I had to show you his hilarious commercial we got to see at Convention - from the commercial contest! This one was 4th place, but it was MY favorite! Yay, pumpkins! OK, I'll be honest - NO, I do not send Halloween cards to everyone I know (though I do send a few!) and YES, from year to year, I have started to accumulate a little stockpile of these cards. That's great for my foyer table, where I change the decor seasonally, but, well, they do seem to be breeding in a some kind of weird Halloween way, lol. So, more folks might get some spooky cards from me this year than usual - they gotta go! Now, I wouldn't normally think Halloween for Clean & Simple's #254, but I couldn't resist this little play on pumpkins - who could??
