So when our 2012 Catalog & Idea book came out, one of the first "suites" that caught my eye was the Lovely Little Labels stamp set, with the accompanying punch pack. Why, oh why, am I so addicted to all the fussy little pieces to color and play with? I see many tiny banners in my future with this one! Imagine my excitement, then, when I saw Merry Minis in the Holiday catalog! (Yes, I had to have those, too...) I felt like I really needed to start cranking those tiny guys up, so I decided to break in Lovely Little Labels by CASE-ing The Merry Minis card from the holiday catalog, snicker! The little punches made everything a snap! Very Vanilla, Early Espresso, Soft Suede & Cajun Craze Craze CS & inks; Neutrals DSP pack; Lovely Little Labels & Teeny Tiny Wishes stamp sets; Square Lattice Embossing folder; Decorative Label & Little Labels punches; Linen Thread

I made this card for my visit today to see Barb after her surgery yesterday - dear lady, I can't wait to see you myself! You should be swimming in prayers this week! I decided to tackle my square card phobia while I was at it, and of course, we had to have some of Barb's favorite color, Calypso Coral! Be well, sweet lady - we can't wait to have you on your feet again... Up, Up & Away & Send Me Soaring (retired) stamp sets; Pool Party, Whisper White, Calypso Coral & So Saffron CS; ruffled ribbon in Calypso Coral; Perfect Polka Dots embossing folder; Labels Collection framelits; Island Indigo, Pool Party, Calypso Coral, Wisteria Wonder & Lucky Limeade inks. Now, I just KNOW everyone was thinking I was off my game when there were NO pumpkins featured in the Boo Time class projects - PSYCH! I saved them for these adorable Pumpkin Purses, my gift to my ladies for another lovely evening! These are totally CASE'd from Missi Roeber in the September 2012 Stampin' Success demo magazine - and I can't wait to make their little bat and frankie friends, too! And here's the Boo Time class instructions, enjoy! Day of Gratitude stamp set; Petite Purse Bigz L die; Tangerine Tango, Basic Black & Lucky Limeade CS; Stripes embossing folder; Brights collection brads; Organdy ribbon in Lucky Limeade; extra large Oval punch. I'm also excited to share the flyer for this year's 22nd Annual Holiday Gift Boutique at Mountainview Presbyterian - I can't wait! I had an AWESOME time there last year - even though they put my table right in front of the kitchen counter so that I had to smell those gorgeous cinnamon rolls and delicious soups all weekend! Argh! When you come to shop - come hungry! I hope to see you there - I'll have some great deals on cards and projects, gifts and treats! There's a lot to see! Retro Sketch #30 inspired me to play with shape just a bit. Square cards, quite frankly, stump me, but they look so cool! So I decided to try floating a square shape over a standard card base. Now that I look at this picture, I wonder if I should chop off the bottom! The little bit of embossing I did there is barely noticeable... Hm, food for thought... What do you think? Delicate Doilies & Curly Cute stamp sets; Pink Pirouette, Chocolate Chip & Whisper White CS; Rose Red, Regal Rose & Pink Pirouette inks; Antique brads; Final Press embossing folder. This was another interesting sketch - Clean & Simple #209. All that "white" space was a bit intimidating to me, I really wanted to add some items in there! I resisted, though, and I must say I'm pretty happy with the results! This sketch was a great chance to use up some scraps, because I have a teeny little problem letting go of any bit of paper I could punch any little piece out of, LOL! I even got to boost my use by decorating the envelope flap to match as well - we did that in a class once before, remember? Border Banter stamp set; Very Vanilla & Pool Party CS; Everyday Enchantment DSP (retired); Taffeta ribbon in Soft Suede; Designer Round Ribbon Slide; Early Espresso ink; Corner Rounder punch; Paper Piercing pack. I made this card for a dear lady at church, who took a little tumble - I was so glad we were with her! I know God will watch over her speedy recovery... Rose Red, Kiwi Kiss (retired) Pretty in Pink & Whisper White CS; Raspberry Tart (retired) DSP; brads from Subtles Collection; Scallop Trim border punch. Happy Birthday to the most fabulous upline in the universe - Julie U! Yay! I had spent days floundering around trying to come up with a birthday card, when Freshly Made Sketches #53 came to my rescue - another yay! The irony here is I borrowed this stamp set from Julie herself - I want it so bad! It's the set "I Am..." that was given to attendees of the 2012 Stampin Up! convention, which I wasn't able to attend, {sob}. I hope next year's set is as cool as this one! I Am... & Happiest Birthday Wishes (retired) stamp sets; Whisper White, Lucky Limeade & Tempting Turquoise CS; Pawsitively Prints II (retired) DSP; Labels Collection & Bitty Banners framelits; Flower from Bitty Punch Pack; self-adhesive rhinestones. To go with the card, I made this fun wall medallion - so bright and cheery! This sentiment really sums up everything Julie is to me - and I want everyone to know! Happy Birthday, doll! Thanks for being such a blessing in my life! I Am... stamp set; Pawsitively Prints II (retired) DSP; XL Designer Rosette die; Large Delicate Doily sizzlet; Labels Collection framelits; Stitched Poly ribbon in Poppy Parade (retired.) I have had SO much fun putting together this month's class - the latest shadow box insert just in time for Halloween, and a cute candle wreath (candle not included, sorry!) to fit a pillar candle, so your shadow box doesn't get lonely. Then, I saw the cutest card that reminded me of the wreath, so I had to adapt a version of that to go with! Now you'll have a little gift set ready to go, if you want! Class is scheduled for Thursday, September 27, 630 pm at my house, make sure to RSVP, as usual, so I make sure I have everything prepped for you! Be there or be scared! (Be sure to bring your favorite adhesive and scissors, and if you have one, bring along a hot glue gun for the wreath!) Why, oh why, are these simple sketches so hard for me?? I really have to fire up the brain cells to get anywhere on them! Today's card is for Retro Sketch #29, and I really wanted to trot something out that doesn't get enough ink. Something whimsical, something SWEET! With bright pops of color! Something to make me SMILE! Don't lollipops make you smile? They do me! Yum! I'm also trying to make Sahara Sand my new Crumb Cake, but I'm still on the fence on that... Sweets for the Sweet & Teeny Tiny Wishes stamp sets; Sahara Sand, Whisper White & Early Espresso CS; Elegant Eggplant, Melon Mambo, Old Olive & Early Espresso inks; Perfect Polka Dots embossing folder; Bitty Banners framelits; 1" & 7/8" circle punches, 1 1/4" Scallop Circle punch. Ack! This week's Fab Friday #02 sketch challenge was a COLOR challenge! Yikees! Luckily for me, Freshly Made Sketches recently published a retrospective of the last year's worth of sketches, so I had a good source to go to for the sketch side! Whew! Time for another Spanish card, I think. I'm pretty sure I'd forgive this snail for being late, he's so cuteand cheery! Well, and he's bearing gifts, too, that's a plus. Basic Gray, Sahara Sand & So Saffron CS; Al Punto (Easy Events) stamp set; Pawsitively Prints II (retired) DSP; 5/8" Grosgrain in So Saffron; Tasteful Trim Bigz die; Large Delicate Doily sizzlit; button from the Subtles collection. |
