Excellent! Another tag sketch, this time from this week's Nacho Average Challenge #113! For this one, I decided to trot out our newest little Christmas tag set - Cheerful Tags. It coordinates wonderfully with a matching punch, has some super-cute mix and match elements, AND is photopolymer, for maximum ease in layering all these fun pieces! I paired it with a print from the Trim The Tree DSP stack, too. I think Stampin' Up1 is really managing to turn my head about Garden Green this year, lol. I also finally got to use my awesome new Handheld Stapler to affix the ribbon - love it! A nice long "bite" area! I hope they make some different colored staples, too! I love it when such a cute card takes 5 minutes flat! Cheerful Tags Stamp Set; Trim The Tree DSP Stack; Whisper White & Crumb Cake CS; Crumb Cake, Cherry Cobbler & Garden Green Inks; Basic Jewel Rhinestones; 1" Circle & Note Tag Punches; Stampin' Stapler. I'm so excited to invite everyone to this year's 24th Annual Holiday & Gift Show at Mountainview Presbyterian! This year's show is scheduled for November 21, from 9 AM to 5 PM, and Saturday November 22 from 9 AM to 3 PM. Make sure to come early and get your cinnamon roll orders in! I've also heard they have several exciting new vendors - I can't wait to see! You can click here or on the picture to get your own flyer - see you there!

OK, here I go trying out a new sketch challenge - yes, I know, I'm an ADDICT! Today we're taking Mojo Monday #369 out for a spin, and it seems appropriate as I myself aspire to be "tall & skinny," lol... I think it's also been way too long since Calling All Heroes has seen ink! One of the many things I love about this set is how easy it is to use bright, bold colors - and this sketch makes it even easier to arrange them! What fun! I love giving these cards as thank yous to the awesome volunteers in my life - volunteers run the world, right? (And yes, I almost called this post "Calling My Mojo," lol...) Calling All Heroes Stamp Set; Whisper White, Real Red, Night of Navy & Crushed Curry CS & Inks; Lucky Stars Embossing Folder; 1/2" Stitched Grosgrain in Whisper White & Real Red (retired). Here we are with one last round of My Pumpkin Challenge #1014 - Sweets & Treats - just in time for the big night! I'm finally using my very last awesome Blackberry Bliss box from the Wish Big kit - sob, so sorry to see it go! But I HAVE to stop hording stampin' stuff! Anyway, the white stripes are perfect for slipping in decor and sentiments, and purple, orange and black were MADE for Halloween! I ended up heat-embossing my stamping - the box surface was a little slick for just inks. But I did have fun using up some of my stickers! Yay! My secret confession: I am SO glad to be done with the burlap - I've had burlap lint in some pretty unmentionable places all month, lol. I even had to vacuum my stamp-n-scrub! Argh! Paper Pumpkin Boo-tiful Bags & Wish Big; plus, Black Staz-On Ink; Black Embossing Powder; Teeny Tiny Wishes Stamp Set. I'm so excited to invite everyone to this year's 24th Annual Holiday & Gift Show at Mountainview Presbyterian! I've also heard they have several exciting new vendors - I can't wait to see! You can click here or on the picture to get your own flyer - see you there! Sa-WEET! I love this week's theme at Merry Monday #132, of snowflakes with neutrals and dry-embossing - so classy! So I'll just admit right up front, I went a little crazy here. This color combo and theme really set off my over-embellish-itis, lol... It's just so hard to stop sometimes! And having all those surfaces to play with that you get with a flip card just didn't help - maybe that was the whole initial problem! Who would have thought that Crumb Cake and Vanilla could look so fancy?! I finally introduced some Soft Suede accents to pick out some areas, and then I needed the partial circle behind the flip snowflake to off-set it from the Vanilla panel, and then it just looked NAKED without a few pearls. You know I'm right on this one! I wish I knew how to photograph these cards better, though... Letterpress Winter Stamp Set; Crumb Cake, Soft Suede & Very Vanilla CS; Crumb Cake & Soft Suede Inks; Snowflake Card Thinlets; Circles Collection Framelits; Snow Burst Embossing Folder; 3/8" Tafetta In Crumb Cake; Basic Jewel Pearls. Wow, the design team's samples at this week's Retro Sketch #138 are so bright and cheery! They really had fun with this tiled background... So, I still had my retired Baja Breeze folder out, and I really wanted to use the Oh my Goodies stamp set, and I have those awesome cupcakes (and cakes on stands!) on that retired Patio Party DSP, and, well, you can see what happened from there - let's call it a "retirement party," OK? Still, so much fun to play with all the pieces - and I like how happy this birthday card is! Oh My Goodies Stamp Set; Patio Party DSP (retired): Baja Breeze (retired) & Whisper White CS; Summer Starfruit, Primrose Petals & Midnight Muse Ink (yes, all retired0: Deco Labels Framelits; 1/2" & 1/8" Circle Punches; Build A Brad kit (retired). Wow, I really like how the background layers are incorporated into the shapes of this week's Fab Friday #53! So I suddenly realized I hadn't done a scripture card in a while - woops! How about some John 15? And since I'm already going off the rez with my stamp, I'll just go ahead and pull out some pretty retired toys to play with, too. I remember when we retired Baja Breeze, I was in such shock for about three months. I just couldn't believe it - and of course I pretty much have everything you could get in that color still, lol. I'll admit it, I still harbor this secret hope that Baja Breeze will return to us. Maybe that makes it a good color for this sentiment, lol... Our Daily Bread Scripture Collection 4 & Chalk Lines Stamp Sets; Elegant Soiree DSP (retired); Baja Breeze (retired), Very Vanilla & Soft Suede CS; Baja Breeze (retired) & Soft Suede Inks; Baja Breeze Seam Binding Ribbon (retired.) I love the Halloween theme showing at this week's color challenge at In{k}spire Me #170! One stamp I haven't inked yet in my Fall Fest set is the adorable ghost - I decided this was my chance! I decided to try heat-embossing them, and I deliberately used my too-dry ink pad for it to get them a little more raggedy looking. They still look pretty happy to me, though! Now, off to re-ink my Whisper White pad... Fall Fest & Good Greetings Stamp Sets; Whisper Whit, Elegant Eggplant, Pumpkin Pie & Basic Black CS; Whisper White Craft & Basic Black Inks; White Embossing Powder; Witches Brew Washi Tape (retired); Decorative Dots Embossing Folder; Fun Fall Framelits. It worked out beautifully this week, combining Freshly Made Sketches #159 with Nacho Average Challenge #112! Fresh colors for a fresh sketch! Now, I know this is overkill even for me, but today I actually have TWO cards for this challenge combo. What happened was this: I went browsing for what stamp set I wanted to use. In the course of that, I noticed that I had somehow shelved Blended Bloom without using it first - GASP! Not supposed to happen! My strategy is to keep new stamps in a stack on my desk, and shelve them AFTER they've been inked at least once... The problem was I felt like the bloom was too big for the sketch idea. So I went with this perfectly lovely layout with Flower Patch, made even lovelier by its handy framelits. But I couldn't get my naked little Blended Bloom out of my head. So then I thought - why not reverse those shapes? Then the flower will fit the sketch! Ta da! So then I had to go back and make that card, and wound up with this one. Sorry for being such a stampin' freak, lol. Everyone go back to your knitting, now... PS. Gee, maybe I should make two more, for a boxed set! Stay tuned, lol... Card 1: Flower Patch Stamp Set; Whisper White, Basic Black & Crushed Curry CS; Bermuda Bay, Crushed Curry & Basic Black Inks; Flower Fair Framelits; Elegant Lines Embossing Folder (retired): Basic Jewel Rhinestones. Card 2: Flower Patch & Blended Bloom Stamp Sets; Whisper White, Basic Black & Crushed Curry CS; Basic Black, Bermuda Bay & Crushed Curry Inks; Large Polka Dots Embossing Folder; Circles Collection and Project Life Cards & Labels Framelits. Sometimes I get the sensation that the various challenge blogs I frequent plot together - like this week's Merry Monday #131-Use Non-Traditional Colors and Sunday Stamps #87 colors! I decided to stick with Merry Monday's tree theme, too, and pull out my Christmas Bliss set - yay for photopolymer! My repeated theme along the bottom border of the card and envelope needed NO stamp-a-ma-jig! Don't worry, SAMJ, you still have a special place in my heart - I'll never give you up! Christmas Bliss Stamp Set; Cherry Cobbler, Tempting Turquoise & Whisper White CS; Cherry Cobbler, Tempting Turquoise, Daffodil Delight & Pumpkin Pie Inks; Cherry Cobbler Baker's Twine; All Is Calm Snowflake Embellishment. Christmas Cards 2014 Part 2 Class Sheet Wanted to post a quick note putting up our second round of Christmas cards class sheet, so everyone can get to it if they need it - so much fun! Also, I hope everyone enjoyed our Scarecrows, made from the new Curvy Keepsake Box framelits that we'll be using in our Gifts and Packaging next month! The Halloween Horizon keeps expanding with My Pumpkin Challenge #1014 - Sweets & Treats! I am determined to use every scrap of the Boo-tiful Bags kit! After last year's "door wrap" tardis decor on our front door, which I vowed not to do again, grr, we needed something new out front. I decided that a cute little burlap banner would be just the ticket! I only had three bags left from my first kit, so I stretched them to the number of flags I needed for the banner by opening them up and mixing my prints with some plain sides, too. I also wanted the letters to be big and bold, so out came the retired Serif Essentials Alphabet dies. I decided to add a little pop by shadowing the white letters with Tangerine Tango, too - subtle, but it really adds a bit of dimension. I added on some of the cute little stickers from the kit for that little something extra. I never know when to say enough, lol! I'll probably add more sequins when I have a minute, too, lol... Paper Pumpkin Boo-tiful Bags; plus, Tangelo Twist & Whisper White CS; Serif Essential Alphabet Dies; Blackberry Bliss Striped Satin Ribbon; Two-Tone Trim in Tangerine Tango.
