So pretty - In{k}spire Me #515 has such a great combo for us this round - Fall colors AND a cool sketch! After lots of dithering, I finally got through it with this card. I'm afraid I strayed farther than I usually do, lol. It happens sometimes when an order of new stamps comes in - I get all distracted by my new toys! The first thing to go was the colors - I just really wanted to make a Christmas card today! I'm also not sure about my design, but I swear I started with the sketch! My pretty "Joyous" tag turned out larger than I thought, lol, so I just rolled with it. I did figure out how to bring the bow from the twine wrap up through the tag hole - I love how that worked out! I finished with a few Pretty Peacock sequins that I think look more like Shaded Spruce - shhh... Joy of Noel Stamp Set; Joy of Christmas DSP; Basic White & Shaded Spruce CS; Memento Tuxedo Black & Versamark Inks; Simmer White EP; Joy of Noel & Tailor Made Tags Dies; Braided Linen Trim in Real Red; Sequins Trio; #IMC515. What a beautiful theme at AAA Cards #249 this round - skies, galaxies and planets! I have just the thing! So, I thought at first I was going to trot out my beloved Reach For The Stars suite, but then I finally got a chance to sort through my new O Holy Night DSP - WOW! There are several sheets of gorgeous starry papers, so I switched it up at the last second! I hope I have enough white space here, but I hated to cut that gorgeous DSP down anymore than this, lol. I floated a lovely holiday sentiment over it from the coordinating Night Divine set, and finished with a few tiny rhinestones. Just love it all! Night Divine Stamp Set; O Holy Night DSP; Basic White CS; Night of Navy Ink; Layering Ovals Dies (retired); Rhinestone Basic Jewels; #AAA249. What a great idea! Cardz 4 Guyz #331 has a "stars" theme going this round! You KNOW I had to run straight to my beloved Greatest Journey set, with its fabulous Enjoy The Journey DSP! This is just the perfect sentiment! I made a big chunky mountain to float over a stunning starry sky backdrop, so of course, that's the cardstock and ink I used, too - Starry Sky! I crack myself up sometimes, lol. Anyway, I added a pretty crescent moon, and doctored up a Deckled Rectangle for the sentiment, and finished with some tiny Orchid Oasis Matte Dots. At the last second, I slipped a paper glue dot behind the lantern, and then just didn't peel it, to make it look like the lantern was really lit! Sigh, still one of my all-time favorite suites ever! Greatest Journey Stamp Set (retired 2023); Enjoy the Journey DSP (retired); Basic White & Starry Sky CS; Starry Sky Ink; Greatest Journey (retired) & Deckled Rectangles Dies; Orchid Oasis Matte Dots; #C4G331. This looks like a fun one - Cupcake Inspirations #578 wants us to include plaid! After rummaging through my retired DSP bin for my Plaid Tidings pack, I also went for a browse through that vintage stamp collection I'm hosting for a bit, lol. I decided to pull out Turkey Talk from 2002 for this one! Such a cute collection, and not a style of images I usually gravitate towards, lol. I went with this cute Thanksgiving sentiment, and this robust cornucopia image - so fun to pull out all my Blends to color it up! In the end, I decided to fussy cut it, too, for a little added oomph! I finished with a few Fine Sparkle Gems that I thought could go with! I think this set might be growing on me, lol. Turkey Talk Stamp Set (retired 2002); Plaid Tidings DSP (retired); Basic White & Blackberry Bliss CS; Early Espresso Ink; Crumb Cake, Pumpkin Pie, Old Olive, Daffodil Delight, Cajun Craze, Wild Wheat, Cherry Cobbler & Blackberry Bliss Blends Markers; Deckled Rectangles Dies; Fine Sparkle Gems; #CIC578. It's tic-tac-toe time again at this round's Retro Rubber #216! I had to study this one for a while, lol. Fortunately, I just came into a stash of vintage SU! stuff that I'll be re-homing, and my adventures sorting through it all yielded some real gems! I ended up going with patterned paper-your choice-circles, with my choice being Christmas! I couldn't resist when I spotted this DSP from way back when I FIRST started with SU! So much nostalgia! I pulled out two circle sheets from the Dashing DSP pack from 2006, and did up a simple layered layout. 2006's Circle of Friendship seemed a natural fit, so I layered that up a bit, too, and gave it a little ribbon sash, lol. Quick, cute and fun, just how I remember, lol. I can't wait to see how YOU play our game this round - meet you at the challenge! Circle of Friendship Stamp Set (retired 2006); Dashing DSP (retired); Very Vanilla & Real Red CS; Real Red Ink; 1 1/4" & 1 1/2" Circle Punches; Faux Linen Ribbon in Real Red; Rhinestone Basic Jewels; #RRCB216. For this round at Make My Monday #210, we'd like you to create your own background! What does that mean to you?? To me, that meant to stamp my own "DSP!" I WISH we had some pretty kiwi paper, lol, but we don't, so I made my own! I randomly stamped a few full kiwi slices around, and filled in with the wedges. I also did some of the speckled background included with the set in the white spaces, stamping off twice so I didn't distract from my juicy fruits! I floated the appropriate sentiment over it all, and finished with a few Matte Black Dots. So juicy! I can't wait to see YOUR backgrounds this rounds - meet you at the challenge! Hello Kiwi Stamp Set; Basic White, Basic Black & Granny Apple Green CS; Memento Tuxedo Black & Granny Apple Green Inks; Matte Black Dots; #MMM210. Pumpkin Club September 30! Love this - Time Out Challenges #247 has a wonderful camping inspiration pic for us this round! I so love this pretty lakeside scene, and it triggered a memory for me of something I have with a rowboat - a quick search and out came 2021's By The Dock! I had to really dig to build this scene so that I could fit in all the elements I wanted, and I actually had to rethink it twice, lol - not something I do too often! Eventually I landed on this water scene, with the dock, of course, and our little boat tied up, and a bit of soggy shoreline, too. I think this is the one! By The Dock (retired 2021); Basic White, Early Espresso, Pool Party & Old Olive CS; Memento Tuxedo Black Ink; Crumb Cake, Old Olive & Daffodil Delight Blends Markers; Old World Paper EF (retired); Dockside (retired) & Stylish Shapes Dies; White Milky Dots; #TOC247. Christmas Craft Creations has a Metallics challenge for September! I think I still have yesterday's brights on the brain, because I immediately thought of the new foils I got with the Merry Bold & Bright suite! The foils have sheets of both Melon Mambo AND Granny Apple Green! This gave me a chance to play more with a few of the Merry & Bright elements I haven't had out yet, too. I thought the filament die was super cute to add to my foil bulbs, and I tried the stamped strand this time - so cute! I couldn't resist the "fun" sentiment, this was so fun to play with! Merry & Bright Stamp Set; Basic White & Shaded Spruce CS; Melon Mambo & Granny Apple Green Foils; Shaded Spruce & Melon Mambo Inks; Merry & Bright Dies; Iridescent Discs; #CCCSep2023. Perfect - we have a lovely layered sketch this round at As You See It #308! All these layers made me think of some bright and bold DSP, so I naturally turned to my Merry Bold & Bright pack, lol. I am loving pairing this with the Festive & Fun critter set, too! Today I went with my pudding-bearing moose and the little beaver - the last two I haven't stamped yet! So much fun to color! I had to shift my sentiment upwards a bit so I could still show off those awesome moose antlers, but it's all good, lol. This card makes me smile so much! I can't wait to see what YOU do with our fun sketch - the sky's the limit! Meet you at the challenge! Festive & Fun Stamp Set; Merry Bold & Bright DSP; Basic White & Shaded Spruce CS; Memento Tuxedo Black & Versamark Inks; Shimmer White EP; Pebbled Path, Pecan Pie, Crumb Cake, Real Red & Shaded Spruce Blends Markers; Iridescent Discs; #AYSI308. Yeah, baby, Shopping Our Stash #505 wants us to "shakes things up!" Woo hoo! I had some fun with this one, and it actually has quite a few items I've had sitting around! Somehow, I never really used my bottle shaker domes much, but I NEVER used the stash of Effervescent Elements I got to go with them, lol. Today's the day! I started with a full card front of the beautiful Waves of the Ocean DSP - I still love this stuff so much! I set up my shaker very carefully - I pre-punched where my dome would go and had to stamp my bottle color through the layers - very exciting, lol. I added a few more bottles to round out the colors, and then carefully dropped some "bubbles in my dome, and a tiny scrap of rolled up Pool Party DSP scrap - with a quick love note on the inside that no one will ever see, lol. I'm so happy with this cutie, but sorry the dome doesn't photograph too well! Bottled Happiness Stamp Set; Waves of the Ocean DSP (retired); Basic White & Crumb Cake CS; Night of Navy, Coastal Cabana & Granny Apple Green Inks; Vintage Bottle Punch; Vintage Bottle Shaker Domes; Effervescent Elements; Night of Navy Enamel Dots; Scrap of Pool Party DSP & Linen Thread; #SOS505.
