I decided to feature another retiring set - today it's teh Eastern Beauty bundle. I've had so much fun with one, building delicate and colorful patterns and designs - I love all the tiny detail pieces to play with! The gorgeous Eastern Medallions thinlits really take this one over the top, too, I squeezed in one little shape to show those off, too! The colors were perfect for adding little splashes of color - good times! Better get this one before it's gone!  Fancy Folds Card Class May 9 & 11!
I'm so excited to bring on the techniques this month with Fancy Folds! We'll be learning how to make it fancy the easy way, featuring 6 all-occasion cards each using a brand new idea for some extra fun in the folds! I promise you will love them all!  Another fun twist this week from Back to Basics & Beyond #26 - use a spray! I need to remember to get my spritzers out more, so this is perfect! Since I already had a prepped spritzer on my desk (left from CHRISTMAS - yikes!) I knew I'd be working in greens. This inspired me to pull out the wonderful Sheltering Tree, also retiring this year {SOB!} This has been such a staple set for me - I love being able to accessorize this tree, and pull in accent leaves for a layered and multi-color look! I staretd with a spritzed background on Natural White - I should use this more often too, lol. I stamped in the tree and details over the spritzing, and added a few bright sequins to brighten things up. I'll miss you, ST - it's been great having you! Today I decided to showcase a stamp set that will carry over, along side one that won't, sigh. And really, how could I NOT think of Pop of Petals when I saw these bright colors? Needing a sentiment to go with, I pulled out Another Wonderful Year, which is chock-full of handy and varied sentiments, in all different and fun fonts. I have SO enjoyed this set!  Super excited to see that SU Only #221 has a rare sketch for us - yay! Sketches are always my fave, lol... For this one, I knew right away that I wanted to do balloons for the suggested shapes in the sketch, especially because {SOB} my beloved Balloon Bouquet set (and punch {SOB, SOB} is retiring. I'm pretty sure this will be my most missed set in our lineup this year, sigh. I LOVE the sentiments in this one, too! While I was at it, I decided to throw in my two fave retiring In Colors as well, Lemon Lime Twist and Berry Burst. So sad. You can believe all these yummy goodies will be carefully hoarded on the shelves of retirement, in a place of honor, lol! Now here's a fun idea - and "along the edge" challenge from AAA #138! It didn't take me too long to hit on my beloved Flowering Desert to show off my "edgy" design, lol. I don't care if this set is retiring - it's a keeper for sure! I know my picture looks a little funny, but I wanted to lay it down flat so you could see my fussy cut edge against the darker strip of Mossy Meadow I put inside the card - it really pops! (Good idea, DL Sarah!) With enormous strength of will I resisted adding any sparklies or droplets, ribbon, ugh, I have to stop even thinking about it, lol. I can SO do clean and simple, lol! Such pretty layers in this week's As You See It #198 "wings" sketch! It's so funny, I just wrapped up my "Butterflies Galore" class, so I wasn't feeling like pulling in any more wings, lol. Then the retiring lists hit, and I realized I was gonna need a LOT of room on my retired shelves for all the new items about to migrate over, lol. While I started my "purge" (have I used this in the last year? two??) I came across this old lovely, Watercolor Wings. And I realized I maybe have one more butterfly in me this month, lol. I kept it fairly simple, and featured one of the large wings arrangement front and center - good times! I added a few details for a bit of shine, but that's it. I forgot how much I miss this beauty! I hope you like our festive colors at this week's Sunday Stamps #203, like a pretty Easter basket! With such pretty graded colors, I couldn't help but go to Bunch of Blossoms. All the two and three step stamping options really allow you to build layers of color, for a lovely 3-D quality that I so enjoy! I built a nice bold blossom with all our colors, and paired it up with this sweetly scripted sentiment!
