Good timing! The Sisterhood of Crafters is wanting see cards for MEN, lol - just right for June! It's hard to resist going back to my Adventurous Sky suite - so components to play with! Today I finally got to get the diecut biplane in action - so fun to choose colors and assemble, AND it fits way better on a card than I thought it would! I did up a split background from the specialty sheets that are meant to be split into separate cool layers, then built my plane from Mossy Meadow and Basic Beige. I tucked in a couple clouds to set the scene, and finished with a few Industrial Trinkets for rivets. So cute! And definitely manly! Adventurous Sky Stamp Set; Take to the Sky DSP; Basic White, Boho Blue, Mossy Meadow & Basic Beige CS; Smoky Slate & Mossy Meadow Inks; Adventurous Sky & Stylish Shapes Dies; Industrial Trinkets; #TSOCMen.

Excellent! Festive Friday #160 has a fabulous inspo list for us in honor of Father's Day! I managed to get a few items off the list today - the main one that caught my eye was "Superman," lol, and then I added a few from there: Masculine Colors, Twine and Alcohol Markers. I pulled my old Everyday Hero set, from 2017, still love this cutie! One of our earlier photopolymers, I love the mix and match options with the various images! I went for a fun layout, too, laying out tiles in a few sizes, and popping them up on dimensionals - it was a real playtime for me today! Blues, bright red, and Crumb Cake - I think these make for good manly colors, lol. I'm so happy with how this came out - I was really flying by the seat of my pants on this one! Everyday Hero Stamp Set (retired 2017); Sunny Days DSP (retired); Basic White, Blueberry Bushel & Crumb Cake CS; Memento Tuxedo Black & Blueberry Bushel Inks; Blueberry Bushel, Real Red, Pool Party, SU400 & SU1000 Blends Markers; White Baker's Twine; Blueberry Bushel Tinsel Gems; #FF0160. Just in time for Memorial Day! Cardz 4 Guyz #347 wants to see stars or stripes this round! After some thought, I went for stripes today - not usually a design element that I tend to feature - I'm more of a dots girl, you know? Anyway, THIS stripey sheet from the Countryside Inn pack has dots, too - win win! I need to start using this DSP more anyway, since it carried over to the new catty - not something that happens very often! With all the blue, I felt like this little cluster of fishing lures would be just right, from Just Fishing - still one of my cutest fishing sets ever! I love that all the sentiments fit into the tackle box spaces, too! I remember using these lures and bobber with my Grandpa, they always make me smile to see them! Gone Fishing Stamp Set; Countryside Inn DSP; Basic White & Misty Moonlight CS; Night of Navy, Cherry Cobbler, Smoky Slate, Misty Moonlight & Versamark Inks; White EP; Night of Navy Baker's Twine; Night of Navy Enamel Dot Essentials; #C4G347. Yay! New month, time for a new NBUS #62! SO many new goodies to play with! I've actually had a few stamp sets sitting on my desk for a bit, waiting for some ink! The Textured Timber set from our Online Exclusives looked so cool - and then I didn't use it, lol. Well, today's the day! I did one long plank along one side, and then smudged it a bit with a Blender Pen! I also snuck in the very cool Beside Me set - this one has actually been around a while, but it took me a while to come around to it, but it DOES make for great guy cards! I had fun coloring this seaside duo, and figuring out a layout that would fit everything in! Good times! Beside Me & Textured Timber Stamp Sets; Basic White, Early Espresso & Crumb Cake CS; Early Espresso Ink; SU900, Misty Moonlight, Crumb Cake, Cherry Cobbler, Daffodil Delight & Balmy Blue Blends Markers; Blender Pen; Nested Essentials & Stylish Shapes Dies; Linen Thread; Rustic Metallic Dots; #NBUS62. Wow, check out our cool tropical colors this round at Sunday Stamps #333! I was so excited to realized that our colors this week seemed to go perfectly with the new Adventurous Sky suite! his upcoming beauty features beautiful bi-wing planes and aerial designs, along with some super cute fonted sentiments! I'm naming my card today after the DSP, because this is ALL about the papers, plus that fun Father's Day sentiment! Two of the sheets have several ready to mount designs and tags, all you have to do is cut them apart! So fun and quick! I can't wait to see what YOU make out of all our blues this round - meet you at the challenge! Adventurous Sky Stamp Set; Take to the Sky DSP; Basic White & Night of Navy CS; Night of Navy Ink; Stylish Shapes Dies; Night of Navy Enamel Dots; Balmy Blue Twine; #SSC333. Oh gosh, this round's Shopping Our Stash #501 is "no stamping allowed!" I have mixed feelings about this, lol. We have so many amazing stamps! As usual though, I've bounced back pretty easily, lol, because I remembered all these die cut pieces I still have in my retired He's the Man DSP. I was able to put together this whole card front without a single stamp! I had to be really careful to not pile on too much stuff, in fact, lol, I have a TON of tiny little bits and bobs from that die sheet - I limited myself to this trio of coordinating stars! I did stamp INSIDE the card, but I don't think that should count! He's All That Stamp Set (inside card); He's The Man DSP (retired); Basic White, Early Espresso & Crumb Cake CS; Early Espresso Ink; All That Dies; #SOS501. Pumpkin Club July 29! With great timing, Cardz 4 Guyz #324 is all for Father's Day - yay! I actually have most of my new man sets out in a Man Card class right now, so I went to the shelves, and pulled my still current He's All That set - great dies go with this one, and I still have a bit of the awesome coordinating He's The Man DSP, too! I pulled out the barbecue sheet - in our house, hubby rules the grill, lol, and I even found a DSP diecut of this little flaming grill, not that our ever has flares like that, lol. So fun! I had some old Cajun Craze Linen Thread in a drawer that went perfectly, AND I even pulled out the stops and added some grill tools I made with our old Apron Builder Dies from 2019! These sets were made for each other! I put a quick Happy Dad Day inside from last year's Happy & Heartfelt, too! He's All That & Happy & Heartfelt (retired 2022) Stamp Sets; Basic White, Sahara Sand (retired), Early Espresso & Silver Foil CS; He's The Man DSP (retired); Memento Tuxedo Black Ink; All That & Apron Builder (retired) Dies; Cajun Craze Linen Thread (Come to Gather Combo-retired); #C4G324. We're gonna pile it on at Cardz 4 Guyz #323's "lots of layers" challenge this round - more than 3! Well, with a tiny bit of effort, I managed FIVE layers for mine, lol. The very manly Ready To Ride DSP was perfect for it, too - I chose an all-over background pattern first, and layered on black, then did a second design, also layered on black, over that! This little map on the collection sheet of smaller contained designs is perfect for featuring over my highway signs! Then I had one last layer to pop up - the smallest motorcycle, complete with flames, lol, and the sentiment! I cut that out with our new Nested Essentials dies - and the piercings around the edge made it super easy to cut the shape down slightly to fit better! I think my Dad will like this one - I know he misses his old motorcycle a lot! Legendary Ride Stamp Set; Ready To Ride DSP (retired); Very Vanilla, Basic Black & Pumpkin Pie CS; Memento Tuxedo Black & Soft Suede (retired) Inks; Legendary Ride & Nested Essentials Dies; Adhesive-Backed Studs; #C4G323. I did some picking through the list and ultimately landed on the retired Hats Off bundle for this one - what a journey, lol. I pulled out my retired Well Suited DSP to get started, figuring it would have a likely blue plaid I could lean on! From there I checked over my man sets, and kept returning to my Hat Builder dies - so fun! I made it a fishing hat, so I could add another inspo item, too! So I think I have blue, masculine, plaid, fishing and die cuts - and I'm really happy with how my hat came out! Hats Off Stamp Set (retired 2022); Well Suited DSP (retired); Basic White, Poppy Parade & Pacific Point (retired) CS; Memento Tuxedo Black & Poppy Parade (inside) Inks; Hat Builder Dies; White Baker's Twine; Blue Sequins; #FF0135. Class is on for Saturday, June 10 at 2 PM! RSVP now to save your spot! Woo hoo! I'm super excited about The Male Room #174's "animal" challenge! This seemed like the perfect chance to break in our new Gone Fishing suite - SO many cool new man toys, lol! The stamp set itself is fascinating, with fish and lure themes, along with great manly greetings. The die site is over the TOP! I could make a whole tackle box with it, lol, and likely will soon! And I can't get over the gorgeous DSP - I featured three different sheets today! That background sheet of flies is perfectly non-directional, and I added some "water" paper for all my fishies - which were cut from another DSP sheet! Love them so much! Some of the dies even cut these fish, too, of course! Hope fish count as animals, lol... Gone Fishing Stamp Set; Let's Go Fishing DSP; Very Vanilla & Pebbled Path CS; Pebbled Path Ink; Stitched Shapes Dies (retired); Rustic Metallic Dots; #TMR174. |
