 Here's a fun theme from Farm Quest #80! They want to see "snow sports!" I have a few really nice sled sets, or skates, or even skis - very elegant and realistic. But, I decided, I feel like an ice-skating moose today - he clearly has the grace to conquer it all! I so love the critters in our Christmas Friends set from 2024, I was delighted to pull them out today! I had some fun coloring in my moose, and a couple trees, and then creating a little ice arena for him, too, lol. I kept things fairly simple with this pretty Pool Party background, and finished with a few Lost Lagoon Rainbow Dots. So fun!  Such a cute combo at In{k}spire Me #581 this round - and such nautical colors! So, even though it just retired, I totally had to go for the amazing Sunrise Sailing set - the dies and the embossing folder are just so cool! I started by stamping up this perfect sailboat, and when I went to cut it out, I decided to hybrid emboss it at the same time - SO much dimension! Once I put it on the medallion and arranged the card front, I thought, how cool would it bee to have the embossed setting for that boat on the background, too?? So that's just what I did! I added some watery marks in Balmy Blue beneath the medallion, and a few Night of Navy seagulls, too! I finished with my very last three Balmy Blue Glossy Dots! This fanged Pumpkin Pie tag seemed perfect with my little vampire, lol. I floated everything over a Halloween plaid from Plaid Tidings - this DSP pack is lasting me forever, and saving my bacon so many ways! I even pieced little Dracul's vest from this, very snazzy and colored in some details with a Pumpkin Pie Blend Marker. I wound on some Black Baker's Twine, and threw on some Monster Bash Enamel Shapes just for good measure! Yes, I made my background Pool Party blue, and just for fun I used the DE-boss side with my retired Timber EF. I had two scraps remaining of my favorite retired Pool Party DSP in the folder, too, so I added a little Pool Party plaid detail, lol. Next up came my little bear cub, in my favorite way to stamp him - in Early Espresso on Crumb Cake, then smudged with a Blender Pen - gives him a rumply look! I pulled the lovely speckled sheets for Timid Tiger, Secret Sea and Cloud Cover (such a brilliant combo!) and added a bright splash of Pumpkin Pie with the little banner! Stamping the Secret Sea directly on the Timid Tiger DSP was so easy, and came out perfectly! A few more Secret Sea details finish things off! I think Secret Sea might be the new Black for me, lol. We have such a fun sketch for you this round at As You See It #356! This struck me as a great sketch for showing off some sweet new DSP, even if only a little, lol. One of the sheets in the GORGEOUS Elegant Pine Snowflakes DSP that most catches my eye is this one with all the evergreen elements floating over a background of Secret Sea - so striking! I snipped my three little strips to float over a panel of Old Olive, which I dressed up with some "pine-flakes" in Versamark - I love the watermark look for a softer feel! I did up a cute Tailored Tag for my sentiment, and dug out my LAST three Frosted Finishes embellies to add some sparkle. I think this came out very elegant! I can't wait to see what YOU make of our banded sketch - meet you at the challenge! I'm having an extra focus on Christmas this year! Instead of a Fall/Thanksgiving class (we'll hit that in our next Pumpkin Club!) I'm adding an extra Christmas card class so I have room to cover the many gorgeous and amazing Holiday offerings we have this year! Christmas Cards Part 2 will feature 6 cards with envelopes, all from the newly launched Holiday Mini Catalog, or the latest Online Exclusives! Our latest speed challenge at As You See It #355 is LEAVES! This was a tough one - I spotted one of my all-time favorite leaf sets while doing some straitening - Falling For Leaves from 2018. This one is so fun to color! But no time for that in a speed challenge - how about heat embossing OVER colors, if I get everything laid out and ready to go?? I'm game! I set out everything - 3 pieces of colored CS for the leaves, the background for the sentiment, the envelope for some decor. Opened the Versamark and the Early Espresso, then the bin of Gold EP and set the heat gun by it. Laid out the gold sequins and the pop dots. Leaf die waiting on the cutting machine. Fingers crossed, I started the clock! It all went off without a hitch, except for a brief pause to plug the heat gun back in after the puppy woke up and yanked it out of the wall - that totally doesn't count! I almost choked when I realized I would have to trim off some excess leaves, and also shorten the Cajun stem (argh!) But it all worked out - 8 minutes, 39 seconds! Yes! I can't wait to see YOUR speedy creations - meet you at the challenge! The main theme came straight from 2018's Picnic With You, and I stuck to the picnic essentials: wine, bread and cheese, lol. Doesn't get any better!
