I think all our pretty layers are PERFECT for helping me out with a little DSP surplus I have going on, now that the catalog is about to roll over! This happens to me every year - I have just a bit too much to discard leftover, and, I still LOVE the papers, lol. Take our gorgeous Bird Ballad DSP here - so pretty! Such fresh and lovely colors! How can I not show it off?? I added in this sweet thought from Thanks For the Laughs, which will also be retiring soon, and I am all set! So, what will YOU create for our sketch?  Oooo, I'm super excited about Less Is More #420's challenge this week - a one layer card that's all about the dots! Nifty! I think when I'm doing one layer cards, I almost always run straight to layered masking. And it just so happens that dots have always been my favorite design element, I just find them so cheery! So when I spotted this adorable sentiment in my new Lovely You set, I knew I just HAD to use it! I stamped my sentiment, and covered it with circular mask punched from a sticky note. From there, I added two more circle punch sizes to make up my "dots," and each size got its own color! I used my sponge daubers to get this translucent effect - I think they're like happy bubbles fizzing off the card! I think this is the youngest retro I've ever done! This layout gives me an idea for trying out another fun combo preview - today we get to see Many Mates, with its gorgeous dies, Many Medallions! This card is a bit inside out for me - I put the big Happy Birthday on the inside, but I couldn't resist featuring a couple of the accompanying sentiments this set has to choose from - I see many happy combos ahead, lol. I added some trim created with the amazing dies, and even took a new embossing folder for a spin - my Sahara Sand layer is done up with the new Tasteful Textile - pretty! I built a little scene with the barrow front and center, and used Pretty Peacock for my accents - love this In Color! Our bright colors are yummy enough to stick a cocktail stick in at this week's Fab Friday #190! I have to say right up front, though - these were a doozy for me! I'm not too proud to admit that I just never took much of a shine to Call Me Clover, lol, and it really throws off my eye! In the end, I went with this abstract color layout design, but using the fun squiggly lines from the soon-to-be-retiring Lilypad Lake. This set is a great one for using in unexpected ways, though the lake elements are amazing! I even added in a "bubble" effect with the moon element - dots always make me so happy!
