With the heat around here, I'd LOVE to be up in the air catching some breezes, lol - it's been 115 here all week so far, sigh... I played again with our new Brights line of rainbow colors - loving it more and more every time I try this! And it looks super cute over a lighter sheet of our Twinkle Twinkle DSP - my new fave papers! So fun getting to play with my fave toys every day!  Oo, what a fun and heraldic sketch from Inspire Create Challenge #23! This sketch really screamed out for some DSP play, and I couldn't resist pulling out one of my faves from the gorgeous Share What You Love pack - the florals in this are just really amazing! The reverse side of my flowers was the perfect pattern to set everything off, too, so it was even simpler than I imagined to piece everything together. I added some Rich Razzleberry layers and details, and finished with a few Petal Pink sequins from our Basics pack. Such a rich result! I went bright and bold today with selections from the Broadway Bound DSP, to go with the Broadway Birthday stamp set! I also wanted to play with some of the layering opportunities of the stamp set itself, and added some cute dots to my "hooray" and backed my marquee for even MORE dots! I decided I wanted to feature our new Brights line-up in my rainbow, and I couldn't stop thinking abut how cute a row of bright vases, with just a few stems thrown in, would look. I had originally planned to color in my scallop "shelf" with matching rainbow markers, but decided that discretion is the greater part of CAS, no? Lol. A lesson hard learned, believe me! I'd love to see this row in my office! I decided to combine two recent challenges I missed while traveling: 355 & 356. Another fun new set that has recently come my way is Enjoy Life, a million dollar set designed by Connie Fitzgerald. It's full of inspiring images and sentiments, with pretty details to add. I had a great time with this color combo - so gorgeous how the subtle colors play off each other! I really like botanical stems in general -I can tell I'll be using those images a LOT... I pulled out some beauties for this one - THREE sets, lol. I knew I wanted to do a stamped element for the scallop border, and I quickly came across Delicate Details - can't believe it's only from last year's SAB! Next up - a focal image. I started thinking about how pretty the lace would look heat embossed on Crumb Cake in white, so I thought some kind of floral-branchy image would be good, and in came my beloved Soft Summer from 2009. It's a tree AND a flower, baby! God, that still cracks me up, lol. I finished with a simple sentiment from 2005's Small Script - I still have all these old script sets - so fun to punch out with our retired Small Oval punch. Whew. I think that's Retro enough for today, lol... I like the balloons best, I think, for being able to add bright pops of color in various combos. This week, I'm all about Berry Burst, I guess, I feel like I've picked it up every day this week! I'm also hi-lighting our markers - so fun to color with! A touch of texture, a few of my fave-but-retired {SOB} sequins, and I'm all set - Tutti Frutti rules!
