 Fusion Card Challenge has a lovely challenge for us this week - "red Christmas" along with a super cute sketch! The one stamp I haven't used much this year is the lovely background stamp Merry Medley, so I hit on floating some pretty ornaments over it for the sketch elements. I also decided to pull out a few "reds" and see what happened. I love it! I had to matte my little ornaments, but everyone got a different color combo - sa-WEET! Fusion accomplished!  We have a beautiful sketch from Paper Players #372 today! I think I'll work in What Will You Stamp #144's Santa's Suit challenge, too! One of the MANY things I love about this stamp set is how much it reminds me of one of my favorite Christmas ornaments - a surfing Santa we brought back one year from Hawaii! NOW I know what happened to his suit while he was carving it up!! Lol... I still just have a blast stamping, cutting and arranging all my Santa pieces - like a Santa paper doll! Enjoy!   Another wonderful sketch from Try Stampin' on Tuesday #349 - I'm also adding in TGIF #135's ombre challenge - always a challenge for me, lol... So, I decided to cheat just a little, and use one of my ombre sheets from the wonderful Color Theory DSP - in the beautiful Berry Burst! Looking at that color, I was inspired to use another preview set - this one from the 2018 Sale-A-Bration collection - Beautiful Peacock. This is another sweet sweet set, with separate pieces for feathers, tail and body, so you can add as much or as little color detail as you like - brilliant! I had some fun today playing with the swooshy feathers today, and two-tone inking techniques. I added colors directly to the inked up stamp with a sponge dauber today...   Hooray! This week's SU Only #188's theme is Winter Holidays - time to celebrate the most wonderful time of year! I think I'll combine with this lovely sketch from Match the Sketch #204! I have to say, it's such a curious thing to have my retired sets on hand in the stampin' studio! I try not to go to those shelves too much, but when I was browsing for yesterday's card, I couldn't help but pull a couple likely sets that were still sitting on my desk today, ahem. Who can resist our 'stache-y" Santa, especially now we have Stampin' Blends back in our rep?? Not me!! So fresh and fun over this quilt pattern, this card definitely brings a smile to my face!   Now, I don't usually do "anything goes" challenges - guess I like some direction, lol. But I have so much fun with this challenge, I decided to give Retro Rubber #76 a go this week! Time to dig deep! I'll use Freshly Made Sketch #314 to help me along! Now that we're through Thanksgiving, I can't help but have Christmas on the mind! As I went digging, I came across this little "Beauty of the Season," that reminds me of winters back in Virginia - there's nothing like a bold cardinal boy against the snow! I think I'll have some fun combining it with Stamp Ink Paper #126's grateful-thankful-blessed challenge, and Color Throwdown #470, too! OK, I couldn't stop myself, I ended up back at Colorful Seasons for my leaf - I just love that one! I wish we had an outline stamp for the smaller one, too, or I'd be using that too much, too, lol. I stayed pretty on sketch today, though my proportions are a little off - I was so stoked when I remembered this sentiment from Paisleys & Posies, too! Tis the season of blessings, always...
