 Perfect timing as always from In{k}spire Me #411 - a New Year's special! I totally knew I had to get out my Sip Sip Hooray set for this one, and I was excited to use my Word Wishes dies for the big sentiments! A match made in heaven! I had some fun playing with the bubbly die that comes with the Sip & Celebrate - I did a little spray of bubbles up one edge, lol. I kept it light and champagne colored with So Saffron and some shimmery golds - just the right vintage, lol. Anyway, I've found that I can really build lovely scenes when I just start from the cabin, or any focal point, mask it off, and layer all the horizons around it - works so well, and it was actually easier than usual working in grayscale, lol. I actually pulled this set out of my for-sale box - 2018's Flurry of Wishes has been such a favorite of mine, and I still love the punch that goes with, too, lol. So pretty! For this nice wide-open field, I knew I wanted another chance at featuring the gorgeous Feels Like Frost DSP - these snowy pines really remind me of some good times growing up - so much snow! So glad for a chance to play! This was such a delicate sketch, I really wanted to make sure I wasn't too heavy-handed for this one. I also knew I wanted to layer two sizes of roughly the same shape - so I went hunting and came up with the Christmas Gleaming stamp set! So far, most of my uses of this one have been fairly heavy (prolly because of that gorgeous but heavy DSP I used up every single scrap of, lol.) How to avoid that? I though a minute and next pulled out my Modern Heart set - it has a nice squiggly color wash stamp that I figured I'd pull in for my coloring. I think it worked like a charm! I did all my stamping in Versamark and Gold EP, and finished with some tiny gold details - I'm loving it!
