I couldn't resist this intriguing color combo over at Hand Stamped Sentiments #372 - gorgeous! I'm especially delighted to see Merry Merlot in this mix - I think this is one of our most under-served colors, lol. And it's beautiful! So I featured that for my "detail" picture - my background layer and the sentiment, plus my fussy-cut set of leaves from Little Delights. This set was made for making your own DSP! I chose the Autumnal leaves for this color combo, and the sentiment that went with, but then I found my remaining Gold Holly Leaves to throw on there, too - oops! I think the gold goes great with these colors, anyway! Little Delights Stamp Set; Basic White & Merry Merlot CS; Merry Merlot, Petal Pink & Cinnamon Cider Inks; Tasteful Labels Dies; Gold Holly Leaves; #HSS372. Pumpkin Club September 25! Check out all our fun layers at this week's Sunday Stamps #266! I just so happen to have a cute new Christmas set waiting on my desk for inking - here's a peek and Sweets & Treats! I had to show off the Christmas pudding - yum! It looks so festive under its pretty cloche, and I still have some scraps of my beloved Heartwarming Hugs DSP - I was so glad to see that one come back this year! I finished off with some Elegant Faceted Dots for just a touch of bling! I can't wait to see YOUR projects for our sketch, too - meet you at the challenge! Sweets & Treats Stamp Set; Heartwarming Hugs DSP; Basic White & Real Red CS; Memento Tuxedo Black Ink; Pool Party, Real Red, Old Olive, Crumb Cake & Pumpkin Pie Blends Markers; Elegant Faceted Dots; #SSC266. Ooo, lovely! Time Out Challenges #196 has a very cool theme - "brave!" This could go a lot of ways! I wrestled back and forth over whether I had something scary in the Halloween line for this, and finally realized I couldn't help but think of this as being more for our men and women in service to our country. I keep them in my daily prayers. They are the true brave ones, and their families. Please Lord, keep them safe, and close to Your presence, always. For Your Country Stamp Set (retired 2015); Evening Evergreen DSP; Basic White & Evening Evergreen CS; Evening Evergreen & Basic Gray Inks; Blender Pen; Evening Evergreen Twine; #TOC196. Wow, The Male Room #154 has a great theme for us for a guy - "nature's bounty!" Perfect time of year for it, too! Even though we're JUST outside harvest time for blueberries, I couldn't help but think of this set when I thought about "nature's bounty." A bowl of sweet berries is IT! I even still have a few sheets of the Berry Delightful DSP to match up, too, so I chose this manly blue check for an accent. I stamped up a little blueberry sprig, did a bit of fussy cutting, and then realized this set also has the perfect sentiment! See, blueberries really do make it all better! Berry Blessings (retired 2021); Berry Delightful DSP (retired); Basic White CS; Garden Green, Granny Apple Green, Night of Navy & Pacific Point Inks; Stitched Shapes Dies; Blue Rhinestones; #TMR154. , Now here's a fun theme at this week's Less Is More #451 - "sparkle!" Yay! I fell like this theme is kind of inviting to add a little bling to our cards this week - which is kind of throwing me for LIM, lol. So I tried not to go too crazy! I immediately thought of Christmas to help carry some sparkle, and I've hung on to 2015's Holly Jolly Greetings because I LOVE these perfect holiday sentiment dies! I chose to build "merry & bright" for the sparkle theme, and I layered up my merry for a bit of dimension. I silver embossed some sparkly details and finished with tiny rhinestones. I'm struggling a bit with the lighting in my new office, so I don't think it photos well, but I actually really like how it came out! Holly Jolly Greetings Stamp Set (retired 2015); Basic White, Night of Navy & Silver Foil CS; Night of Navy & Versamark Ink; Silver EP; Christmas Greetings Dies; Rhinestone Basic Jewels; #LIM451. It's theme time again at As You See It #258 - "in the air!" What a fun one! I went to the vault for this one - my sweet little piggy hasn't had some air time in quite a while! I even dug out some retired "cloudy" DSP to go with - we're all about the air here! My favorite thing to do with this piggy is to go ahead and stamp on a white surface, then stamp again onto a pink, touch up the snout and hooves and then fussy cut to go over her wings - I really love dimension, lol. This Little Piggy Stamp Set (retired 2020); Carried Away DSP; Basic White, Night of Navy & Blushing Bride CS; Memento Tuxedo Black Ink; Flirty Flamingo Blends Marker; Stitched Shapes Dies; Elegant Faceted Gems; #AYSI258. So many fun layers at this week's Try Stampin' on Tuesday #524, and there's a perfect feature space for our "people" challenge at SU Only #284, too! I started by browsing for a likely "people" set - I actually don't get too many that have people in them, not counting Santa, lol. I'm more of a critter girl, I guess! I do still have my beloved Tote-ally Tess from 2010, though, and it's hard to resist pulling her out when I get the chance! Here she is in full-on crafter mode - don't we all wish we had a Granny Apple Green apron?? I can't wait to see YOUR projects, for both our challenges today! Meet you there! Tote-ally Tess Stamp Set (retired 2010); Pattern Party DSP; Basic White CS; Memento Tuxedo Black & Granny Apple Green Inks; Cajun Craze, Mango Melody, Petal Pink, Night of Navy & Smoky Slate Blends Markers; Ovals Collection Dies (retired); Loose Flower Flourishes; #TSOT524; #SUOC284. Such a pretty sketch at this week's In{k}spire Me #457! I think these are pretty colors to go with, too - I am LOVING Misty Moonlight these days! This sketch seems perfect for breaking in my new Sparkle of the Season bundle. I wasn't sure I was going to get this one, it reminds me a lot of Swirly Bird, which I still have, of course, lol. BUT, this one has so many more seasonal elements, AND sentiments, too - a win-win! A girl always like to accessorize! I stuck pretty tight to the sketch, but had to move the sentiment to make it a little more balanced - this one is messing with my "rule of threes" thing, lol... Sparkle of the Season Stamp Set; Basic White, Basic Black, Misty Moonlight & Silver Foil CS; Misty Moonlight & Versamark Inks; Silver EP; Seasonal Swirls Dies; Basic Jewel Rhinestones; #IM457. Wow, there's an amazing "nautical bear" cake for the inspiration side at this week's Fusion! Love that layered sketch, too! Hm, I think I'll do a little picking and choosing for this one! First up, the still-gorgeous-but-retired-now Sand & Sea DSP has the perfect sheet to go with those lovely wrapped layers on the cake! To finish things off, I do have a current nautical set, Sailing Home! This is my fave lighthouse, and my fave sea-sentiment to go with - I even had one lonely anchor left from our old Sail Away Trinkets to go with the one on the cake! Perfect! Sailing Home Stamp Set; Sand & Sea DSP (retired; Basic White & Misty Moonlight CS; Misty Moonlight & Versamark Inks; White EP; Sail Away Trinkets; Navy/Sahara Bakers Twine; #FusionNauticalBear. Yes! CAS on Friday #213 is all about one of my favorite things this week - balloons! I kinda can't resist going to one of my fave current balloons, Hey Birthday Chick - it's just so adorable! I decided to up the number of balloons this time, though, AND make them fancy by paper-piecing them from my favorite DSP! I love how it came out, and having dies really made it all go super quick! I do think it really would take 3 balloons to get this chunky hen off the ground, lol. Hey Birthday Chick Stamp Set; Pattern Party DSP; Basic White CS; Memento Tuxedo Black Ink; Real Red, Mango Melody & Bermuda Bay Blends Markers; Birthday Chick Dies; Pool Party Sequins; #CASOF213. |
