Hm, AAA #282 has a new challenge style - it's called "follow my lead," and it's a sort of CASE challenge! I have to try it! I decided to pull my Thoughtful Wishes bundle for this one - the dies have all kinds of botanical stems and flowers in them, with just the right delicate touch, too! I quickly ran through a few likelies, as well as a couple hearts to layer from my Radiating Stitched Dies. I made a quick cluster out of the stems, then pop dotted my layered hearts over the ends. This left plenty of room for a tiny "thanks" sentiment, too - I didn't want to leave that bare! Quick and fun, it turned out! I might have to do more of these! Thoughtful Wishes Stamp Set; Basic White & Real Red CS; Memento Tuxedo Black Ink; Thoughtful Wishes & Radiating Stitches Dies; #AAA282. Pumpkin Club January 25! We have a brand new inspo list from Festive Friday #176 - for National Wedding Month! So, once I got a peek at that list, I admit straight out that I got a little carried away, lol. It was "tin cans" that did it, I'm afraid, because I immediately thought about the tin can on a stick image from my old Under the Stars set from 2008 - it has such great camping images! All thoughts of a wedding card went right out the window! If I was going to do the can, then I had to have the guilty-looking little raccoon, too, lol. I do have the brand new Adventure Together bundle, so I snagged the little firepit from there, as well as half my sentiment! The "congrats" is actually from our also-new Bright Borders. I'm thinking of this as retirement card, or maybe a "congrats on your new camper" card, lol. I also built my little scene on a z-fold card - so fun! Anyway, I hit tin can, fancy fold, pearls, metallics (I colored the fire pit silver, lol) and congrats. I'm adding the laughs, too, lol... Under the Stars (retired 2008), Adventure Together & Bright Borders Stamp Sets; Enjoy the Journey DSP (retired); Basic White & Garden Green CS; Memento Tuxedo Black & Garden Green Inks; Smoky Slate, Pecan Pie, Bermuda Bay (retired) & Daffodil Delight Blends Markers; Cricut Silver Metallic Marker; Adventure Together Dies; Festive Pearls in Green; #FF0176. Oo, Time Out Challenges #280 is a cool one - what is our favorite January activity? I'll have to really think about this one! After some thought, I realized there's a LOT of stuff I like to do in January, lol. Mark up and hang out all my new calendars, pore over the garden seed catalog, settle over a stack of Christmas books - the list goes on, lol. But THIS year, a new item on that list involves a yummy foo-foo coffee made for me by my hubby on his fancy new De'Longhi Magnifica Espresso Machine I gave him for Christmas! Talk about a plan coming together, lol. He loves it, and I love the fun coffees he's been making! Right now we're experimenting with coffee sauces like chocolate and caramel, and it is TASTY! I could while away a whole morning on his coffee! Latte Love Stamp Set; A Little Latte DSP; Basic White & Boho Blue CS; Early Espresso, Pecan Pie & Versamark Inks; White EP; Real Red & Boho Blue Blends Markers; Latte Love & Wild Ferns Dies; Swirl Dots; #TOC280. OK, Shopping Our Stash #539 has the CUTEST name this round - "glitter me happy!" And of course, the challenge is to use glitter, in any form! So, I initially thought I really wanted to use loose glitter - I so love the stuff, and I don't get to pull it out much these days, lol. BUT, this is for SOS! What kind of STASH glitter might I have? I went through my 12 x 12 folders and found this old pack of Rainbow Glimmer paper - well, maybe a few packs, actually. I love this stuff, but I found it challenging to use, because I want to show off ALL the colors, lol. Enter Everyday Arches (AND the envelope, lol.) I could do a cool background arch, float another one on top, and catch the rest on the envelope flap! Yes! AND, I finally actually used an arched sentiment - nifty! Everyday Arches Stamp Set; Rainbow Glimmer & Basic White CS; Memento Tuxedo Black Ink; Everyday Arches & Tasteful Labels (retired) Dies; Gorgeous Grape Glossy Dots; #SOS539. Pumpkin Club January 25! I love our whirling sketch this round at Sunday Stamps #352! For this one, I really wanted to break into the fruity sheets in our Sale-a-Bration pack of Fruit Salad DSP! This watermelon one in particular - the rind is on one side, with the juicy fruit on the other! Brilliant! Weirdly, I had to pull out two retired sets to go with it, lol, but I do love how it looks! First up is last year's SAB set Watercolor Melon, and I also added in 2021's Cute Fruit for the sentiment. A trio made for each other, I guess, lol. I can't wait to see what YOU come up with for this fun sketch - meet you at the challenge! Watercolor Melon (retired 2024) & Cute Fruit (retired 2021) Stamp Sets; Fruit Salad DSP; Basic White & Real Red CS; Garden Green, Real Read & Memento Tuxedo Black Inks; Stylish Shapes Dies; Modern Oval Punch; Transparent Dots; #SSC352. Very fun - Inspire Create Challenge #184 is back with a fancy fold challenge! A fun fold always gives such a good chance to show off some fun DSP in new ways - even the simplest of them let you play with shapes and layers! I pulled out a simple z-fold card today, and decided to go with the bright happy colors in Friends of the Ocean DSP pack! I hadn't stamped the lobster yet, so he got to come out to play as well! I went right for one of the color combos suggested in the catty - Summer Sky and Pool Party - looks so good! I really haven't been using Summer Sky as much as I thought I would - so nice to have some paper inspiration for it finally! Ocean Friends Stamp Set; Friends of the Ocean DSP; Basic White, Summer Sky & Berry Burst CS; Summer Sky, Pool Party & Berry Burst Inks; Ocean Friends Dies; Sunny Day Iridescent Dots; #ICC184. Such a fun juicy color challenge this round at Cupcake Inspiration #609! I couldn't help but take a look at my new Terrific Toadstools for this one, lol - what great colors for them! I ended up fussy cutting all my toadstool pieces, so I could get the full variety of stems and tops, and it really only took a tick! I did my toadstool setting in all Bubble Bath, but I also got a 'shroom in each color, too - they kinda look like they were made for each other, don't you think? Good for a chuckle, for sure! Terrific Toadstool Stamp Set; Basic White & Bubble Bath CS; Bubble Bath, Gorgeous Grape & Berry Burst Inks; Gorgeous Grape Glossy Dots; #CIC609. Oo, what a fun windowed layout from Sketch Saturday #767! This one feels very out of my card-making style to me, but I really wanted to use some of these adorable diecuts that come in the Storybook Moments DSP pack! I have a hard time using these, mostly because there are never enough of the same image for me to use in a class, lol, but then I got to thinking that I could still use them on my other cards! I just need to apply myself! So I set up this sweet gardening background, and picked three images that I though would go along with that theme. I should have used the "spring" sentiment, but I also haven't used the Easter one yet, so out that came, too! Such a cutie! I finished with the antique pearls that go with this suite, but I think they get a little lost, hmmm... Storybook Friends Stamp Set; Storybook Moments DSP; Basic White & Old Olive CS; Old Olive Ink; Large Oval Punch (retired); Antique Pearls; #SS767. Beautiful! In{k}spire Me #553 is back with their usual sketch and color combo, and I'm totally going for the sketch! A set, suite really, that has been burning a hole on my desk for some time now is the completely adorable Otterly Amazing. Just so sweet! It's finally time to break into that gorgeous DSP, and get some ink on it! I chose this pretty sheet from the DSP pack - they are actually both sides of one sheet - so perfect for the sketch! I also decided to fussy cut this handsome fellow from another sheet - check that little pink paw pad! I smile every time I look at this, lol. Anyway, I set him up on a little Crumb Cake Stylish Circle, stamped my sentiment below, and finished with a few of the Riverside Irregular Pearls - gorgeous! Otterly Amazing Stamp Set; Otterly Adorable DSP; Basic White, Early Espresso & Crumb Cake CS; Early Espresso Ink; Stylish Shapes Dies; Riverside Irregular Pearls; #IMC553. Happy New Year! To kick things off at Retro Rubber #246, we want to see some winter fun! So, apparently I don't quite have Christmas out of my system yet, lol. Because my idea of winter fun is STILL baking for Santa, in a snuggly holiday sweater, lol. I'm am SO not into winter sports, except maybe to watch from the living room! This little pup checking on Santa's snack is also still one of my all time fave image combos - and we all know how much I love to color! I kept my colors simple this time - just three: Crumb Cake, Cherry Cobbler & Pool Party - perfect! I can't wait to see YOUR fave Winter Fun cards - meet you at the challenge! And don't forget to make it Retro!
