Hey hey hey! Another Fab Friday #125! Love this sketch, and I'm excited to combine it with Paper Players #369's Holiday Pines challenge! So, this may have been an obvious choice, but really, I love our Christmas Pines set - you really can't make anything "bad" with it, lol. I had some fun calculating my white layer, and lining up my squares for stamping, but really, I pretty much went straight to my plan and made it happen! I did add some gold sequins to my original idea for a little sparkle - and the "Noel" is always a little bit bigger than I remember, but still - pine perfection! Merry Christmas! See you at the challenge! Christmas Pines Stamp Set; Whisper White, Garden Green, Cherry Cobbler & Crumb Cake CS; Garden Green, Cherry Cobbler & Early Espresso Inks; Layering Ovals Framelits; Pretty Pines Thinlits; Gold Sequins; #FabFri125; #PP369.

Oo, check out this funky "stitched" sketch from Try Stampin' on Tuesday #346! I'm adding in TGIF #132's neutrals, too! I wasn't sure how closely I would follow this layout, but you know what? I ended up going All The Way with it, lol! The neutrals we a tough one, too, but then I thought of Night in Bethlehem, and figured I could do some shading with the wonderful city-scapes in that. It was fun getting all the pieces and layers cut, (yikes!), and then, to figure out the stitching? Thank goodness it just worked out when I gave up and went for it, lol... Night in Bethlehem Stamp Set; Whisper White, Soft Suede, Crumb Cake & Sahara Sand CS; Soft Suede, Crumb Cake & Sahara Sand Inks; Bethlehem Edgelits; Gold Star Sequins; Linen Thread; #TSOT346; #TGIF132. This week's Case This Sketch #246 has a lovely washed background - I think I'll tackle this with these perfect colors from In{k}spire Me #324! I knew I wanted to do some heat-emboss-resist for this one - so fun in these colors! A simple thinlits sentiment seemed the way to go, and I had a few gray sequins to add in for some subdued sparkle, too. Playing with an ink wash is really an art-form, I think - I should do more of it for some of the gorgeous results I see over at CTS, lol. One day I'll get there! Flourishing Phrases Stamp Set; Whisper White, Watercolor Paper & Basic Gray CS; Versamark, Lemon Lime Twist & Fresh Fig Inks; Greetings Thinlits (retired); Gray Sequins; #CTS246; #IM324. Today's sketch comes from Match the Sketch #201 - very cute! I'm combining with this lovely inspiration pic from Just Add Ink #384! I totally had to pull out Daisy Delight for this one, of course! I spent some time playing with papers to see how I could address the sketch elements - I think I did pretty well! I snuck in some retired Perfectly Artistic DSP to add some daffodil interest, and then tried to color my big daisy similar to the inspiration pic. It's so fun to have a punch for this set - I think I might need a daisy headband next, lol. Anyway, I tucked in a little sentiment down on the bottom, and I think I'm all set! Daisy Delight Stamp Set; Delightful Daisy & Perfectly Artistic (retired) DSP; Whisper White & Night of Navy CS; Memento Tuxedo Black, Night of Navy & Daffodil Delight Inks; Daisy Punch; Blender Pen; #MTS201; #JAI384. Another gorgeous sketch from Freshly Made Sketches #311! I'm adding in these colors from Color Throwdown #467, too... I haven't used my Jar of Love set in so long - and it's still in my top ten favorite sets! I knew I could totally fit the color challenge into this one, so off I went. I had dig through my DSP stash for some background papers - yes, I still rock my 2010-13 DSP stacks, lol. Once I got past that hurdle, putting together my little "bud jar" was up next. I kept it simple with one stem and flower, but my little splashes of red really pop, I think. Good times again today! Jar of Love Stamp Set; 2010-13 DSP Stacks, Marina Mist & Wild Wasabi (retired); Whisper White CS; Memento Tuxedo Black, Marina Mist, Wild Wasabi & Real Red Inks; Everyday Jars Framelits; Linen Thread; Real Red Enamel Shapes; #FMS311; #CTD467. LOVE the inspiration pic at this week's Fusion "Autumn Leaves" challenge! The wheels are already turning in my brain! The first thing that grabs me about the pic is of course the COLORS - I'm a total color junkie! I knew I wanted to feature our superb stamp set Colorful Seasons, but could I do these gorgeous hues honor? After a dig through my stash DSP, I decided I could! I have gotten so much use out of the By the Shore DSP set - one of my rare buys JUST for the papers, lol. It made the perfect backdrop for our lovely leaves, which I already knew I wanted to stamp on my fave sheet from Painted Autumn. I SO love how my card came out - never be scared to stamp on DSP! Colorful Seasons Stamp Set; Painted Autumn & By the Shore (retired) DSPs; Very Vanilla & Early Espresso CS; Dapper Denim & Early Espresso Inks; Seasonal Layers Thinlits; Scallop Tag Topper & Corner Rounder Punches; Linen Thread; Gold Sequins; #FusionLeaves. There's a wonderful sketch over st Stamp Ink Paper #123 this week - make sure you go check out the DT samples! Now that we're past Halloween, my mind turns to the quickly approaching Thanksgiving holiday. As we're finally getting new flooring put in here at the Heroldt Household, this might be the year we do Chinese instead of turkey, lol, as the schedule appears to be coming together right around the big turkey day! My dreams of it happening while I was off partying in Salt Lake City are, alas, dashed. So I thought this sentiment seemed apropos, since it doesn't mention FOOD, bwahaha! Can't get enough of this painted flower... Painted Harvest Stamp Set; Painted Autumn DSP; Very Vanilla, Garden Green & Crushed Curry CS; Crushed Curry, Cajun Craze, Early Espresso & Garden Green Inks; Stitched Shapes Framelits; Leaf Punch; Garden Green Enamel Shapes; #SIP123. I love this warm and cozy inspiration pic from Merry Monday #263 - hot cocoa, anyone? So, OF COURSE I used Hug in a Mug - SO many ways to do up our cozy mugs there, and I didn't even use all the options I had, lol. I went with a color palette inspired by the Quilted Christmas DSP - so cheery! Looking at all these dancing mugs reminds me of the first fancy hot chocolate I ever had: I used to work at a mall when I was in high school, and one day a Gloria Jean Coffee Bean opened across the hall from us. I wasn't a coffee drinker yet, but the manager made me a hot chocolate when we went to visit their opening day, with the steamed milk on the espresso machine and everything, so dramatic, I had never seen that before. Then she PUT FRESH WHIPPED CREAM ON TOP! I was completely smitten, lol. They had different mugs they would let us use instead of disposable cups since we were right across the way. Good times! Alas, Orange Julius lost my business that year! Hug in a Mug Stamp Set; Quilted Christmas DSP; Whisper White & Real Red CS; Memento Tuxedo Black, Real Red, Garden Green, Chocolate Chip; Lemon Lime Twist & Pool Party Inks; Stitched Shapes Framelits; #MM263. We have a super fun sketch from this week's Retro Rubber #74 - yay! I love assymetric design, but woo boy, it's a challenge! This one was a stumper for me. Fortunately, I came across my old What's Your Type set (2014-15 AC) and got to play with the handy stripey triangles in there. Rather than building a crazy sentiment with my Type shapes, I opted for my old Warm Words set (2006!) that I used to love punching with our original oval punch. It's just as much fun with our new Layering Ovals framelits, lol, especially when I'm playing with purples and greens - because, yes, I DO giggle the whole time, lol. What's Your Type & Warm Words Stamp Sets (retired); Crumb Cake, Lemon Lime Twist & Whisper White CS; Berry Burst, Lemon Lime Twist & Fresh Fig Inks; Layering Ovals Framelits; Basic Jewel Rhinestones; #RR74. Since I haven't done much "eclipse" style work, I decided I need a SHORT word, lol - how about "hi?" I also figured I'd work with some yummy DSP, and I need a break from Halloween and Christmas so Delightful Daisy got to come play! This was a fun sketch to do a DSP display for, and my "hi" just fits inside the circle shape - perfect!
