 What a fun way to show floating elements at this week's Freshly Made Sketch #313! I'll combine with these cool blues from Color Throwdown #469! I was so excited to see those corner circles in the sketch, because I figured this was chance to debut another preview set I received at On Stage 2017 - Picture Perfect Birthday! This little beauty has a lovely accompanying suite of DSP, ribbon and clips, which I can't wait to get my hands on! Lucky for me, all I need are stamps, ink and paper to get my toes wet, lol. The set features really cute two- and three-step stamping for bows, blowouts and candles, along with seriously adorable party sentiments.  We have a pretty portrait sketch this week from Try Stampin' on Tuesday #348 - I'll be adding in Stamp Ink Paper # 125's colors as well! I can't stand it anymore, and I HAVE to use another preview set I earned at On Stage, this one at our Leadership Luncheon on Saturday. The speakers were great, there was lots of info to be shared and considered, but of course, the bow on top was this stamp set, called Flying Home. It's a collection of bird-themed images, all line art just waiting to be colored! I suspect it's more of a spring set, lol, but I couldn't wait any longer to ink it up, lol... Cuteness! OK, the inspiration pic at this week's Merry Monday #265 is SO cute! Perfect for an "outdoor fun" theme! I think I'll add in these festive and playful colors from Global Design Project #113, too! So, I promise I DID look for a current set to play outside with, but in the end I wound up back at my beloved Mountain Adventure. I love creating snowscapes and mountain scenes with this one - it reminds me so much of fun winter holidays in Banff! Today I set off my sentiment with my Stitched Shapes framelits, and ran the square through twice to create a perfectly sized rectangle - works like a charm! I think I need to head north this year, lol... This week's "Grateful" Fusion has the usual flair for combining theme and sketch, and I'm so excited to play. Adding in What Will You Stamp #142's Painted Harvest challenge will be perfect for it! Since I already knew what my stamp set would be, all that was left to do was to choose what pretty papers I would use from our coordinating Painted Autumn DSP - so many lovely choices! I'm trying hard to NOT hoard my faves, but old habits die hard, lol. I'm letting them out in dribs and drabs, I promise!  Super cute sketch from TGIF #133 today - I love when the sentiment floats between panels like this! I'm going to take a chance and combine with Paper Players #370's "white-on-white" challenge, too! So, I'm only recently back from Salt Lake City for Stampin' Up!'s 2017 On Stage Live - what we call our annual convention now, lol. One of the MANY great joys of convention is the chance to win Prize Patrol, which this year focused on stamp sets from our upcoming 2018 Occasions Catty! Woo hoo! You guys are going to LOVE the new goodies! Today's card features my first prize, Beautiful Day, that has line images just right for all kinds of coloring! Kind of ironic that I'm using it for a white challenge, because I'm actually itching to splash some bold colors on this baby - wait'll you see the big butterfly, too! I snuck in some Smoky Slate to help set things off, and a bit of sparkle for my glitter - enough is never enough!  Another cute sketch at this week's Try Stampin' on Tuesday #347! So, a friend recently reminded me I haven't done any scripture cards lately - not sure what that's about, but this sketch is perfect for sneaking in a verse! While I also chose this Hebrews 13:8 because it was the right size and shape (shh!), it's also just a great reminder for our daily trials - I love the feeling of connection I get to our past, our present and the future with this.  SU Only #187 has a wonderful "thankful" theme for us this week - good timing, lol - Thanksgiving is coming up here in the US! When I browsed for my stamps, though, I was actually more drawn to these Spring-y tulips - I love how the two-step stamping turns out on this set so much! For a thankful sentiment, I went to A Sara Thing Paper Pumpkin - so many phrases we can build with that cute little set! A few iridescent sequins go with my Calypso Coral perfectly - sweet!  This week's fall color challenge from Retro Rubber #75 should be fun - I know I've saved some goodies for this one! OK, did a quick browse on my retired shelves, and I just couldn't walk away from our gorgeous Thoughtful Branches, with its Beautiful Branches thinlits, sigh. This was an exclusive and very limited release in August 2016, so it JUST slips under the wire to qualify for Retro Rubber, lol. I wanted to see this beauty in the Big Book in the worst way, lol, but alas, it was not to be... I think Retro Rubber will be an emotional outlet for me for quite some time, as I relive the stress of all these sets I HAVE to have that leave us before their time, lol - thank goodness there's a solution for us!  I'm excited about this week's Merry Monday #264 red and kraft (which we call Crumb Cake now, lol) challenge - love those together! Real Red and Crumb Cake make me think of warm sweaters, so I knew I wanted to use my Cable Knit DEF - and Smitten Mittens is just the set to go with THAT! I kept it fairly simple, but I love the expanded options we get from the matching framelits, so I added just a few tiny details! I'm so "smitten" with have right AND left hand framelits for this one! And hey, a little sparkle never hurt anybody either, lol, so let's have that, too! Cozy time!  So cool - LOVE the bands and panels on this sketch from As You See It #162! I'm combining with this week's colors from Sunday Sketch #165, too! Whew, these were tough colors for me! I finally settled on some bold splashes of a few of them, using my Work of Art Stamp Set, which hasn't come out to play in a while! I originally thought I would use some enamel dots for that detail from the sketch, but then the stack of miscellaneous embellishments fell over on my desk and I spotted these tiny wood flowers I never used - so something fun literally leapt onto this card, lol.
