 Time for another speed challenge - this time AAA #137 - and can I add in dry embossing, too? Yikes! I decided to get started by browsing my embossing folder bin, and way back in the very last spot was this old Alphabet Press folder! I love the look of this one, and so very rarely use it, lol. Typical. So I pulled it and did a quick search for a likely sentiment to go with. Since I can never have too many thank you cards, I landed on All Things Thanks. Once my key decision were made it took me about three minutes to complete the card - speedy day! I couldn't resist a few glitter dots, and all that emboss makes me feel like it looks busy, but seriously, I think this is still clean and simple, really!  We're going kind of tribal this week at Try Stampin' on Tuesday #403! It took me a bit to break down this sketch, lol. I finally decided we were doing layered columns, and when I have a narrow vertical like this, it's hard for me to not think "balloon!" So out it came. When I decided to go with this fun Broadway Bound DSP for my background, I pulled in the Lovely Lipstick, one of the coordinating colors in that suite. I'm loving the look of the Lipstick against the Slate! It only took me two tries to get the layers right, lol, and then some glitter dots finish the deed. It's a celebration, all right! Very nice - As You See It #197 has a cool starburst sketch for us this week! And did I do a starburst?? Heck, no! When looking over my shapes, I realized I don't even remember the last time I pulled out Label Me Pretty, so I totally had to ink that baby up! I went for a two-step version, with this pretty outline. I then added a the circular thank you sentiment, inking up with markers to get the two-color effect. As soon as I saw these lovely panels, I knew it was a chance to show off some gorgeous DSP, and the one sheet I have been so wanting to get out there is this toadstool sheet from our lovely Painted Seasons - so fun! I floated them over some Early Espresso layers, and then popped up this big (and pretty obvious, lol) sentiment from Accented Blooms. I love this punch! I threw in a couple accent leaves suggested by the sketch and I'm all set! Boy, I really didn't stray this week, lol, not my usual at all! The Sisterhood of Crafters is getting into the season with their "celebrate Spring" theme! When I think Spring, I can't help but go back to seeing the gorgeous old dogwood trees bloom in the front of my childhood home - they were so pretty! It's funny, they were planted right up against a really steep bank along our street, and I remember I used to like to crawl underneath and prop up against the hill and look out through them at the sky - all the bulbs my grandmother planted would be coming up, too, and it always smelled so good! I think it's those trees that have made me keep hanging on to this old Soft Summer set from 2009 - I wish we had them here in Arizona! It's so funny to see this sketch from Hand Stamped Sentiments #311 this week - I was just going through some old dies and came across my old giant scallop oval, lol. I feel like this is deja vu! In the end, I decided to go smaller with my Layering Oval framelits, and show off this lovely line from Isaiah - I got this idea I could put in some fireflies to be our "lights" lol. I kept it pretty simple, though I tried to squeeze in a little detail where I could - scallop edge, and embossed background. A nice show of Mango here, too! Another fun tic-tac-toe from Retro Rubber #107! - so many cool choices ahead! It actually didn't take me long to settle on the center horizontal row: thank you-leaves-repeat stamping. Then all I had to do was go find some likely leaves! I hit on this gorgeous fern frond in Butterfly Basics - even though this set only retired last year, it came to us in 2015! I think this still makes one of the "newer" sets I've ever pulled out for Retro Rubber, lol. Anyway, I did some stamping and stamping off in three different greens, and then cut a double layer "thanks" with thinlits. a simple and rare one-layer for me! Woo! I decided to just run with that Easter idea, lol, and I ran straight for my beloved (and retired, SOB) Basket Bunch set from 2017. So many adorable little details, and a framelit to go with every single one! I settled on a chocolate bunny and a daffodil for my little basket, though I had some fun decorating my little strip of Easter eggs, too, lol. How long can you make YOUR Easter candy last?? I'm giving it one last hurrah, lol. I did a layered frame using my Layering Ovals Framelits, and got all lined up to stamp my fancy cupcake on the base. I added a few details, and all my window accessories - my shaker goodies are leftover from an old Paper Pumpkin - I think I have stretched it for a couple years now - almost gone!
