This card was so fun to make! I first started by digging out my two whole cactus sets, and coloring and fussy cutting them. Then I spent some time figuring out how I could cobble together the sentiment I wanted - how could I not use "rootin' tootin'?" Everyone knows that cowboys really say that, right? Arizona ones do - just ask Cowboy Gary! I also took my heart in my hands and actually ALTERED the little Christmas banner in White Christmas - I figured the photopolymer makes it especially suited to putting back together when needed on the block. And then I took a tiny liberty and added some Crushed Curry stars - shhh...
So, in our house, Cowboy Gary is pretty famous - he comes every year to the local elementary school, to sing with the kinders. They spend all week making cowboy gear, and stick ponies to show Dusty, Cowboy Gary's counting horse (who wears a special poop-catching bag when he comes to school, sorry , had to share that.) ANYWAY, we always tease Bug about it, because back in her day, she insisted on naming her stick horse "Dirt," after Cowboy Gary's horse. Get it? Dirt instead of Dusty? Cowboy Gary, and his horse Dirt. Hilarious. Dirt has guarded our Christmas tree ever since!
