![]() I was so excited to see this week's Just Add Ink #289 to add music! I'm combining it with Create With Connie & Mary #382's colors for an extra boost! I think I'll use this fun layered sketch from Retro Sketch #191, too... So, here we are. I very carefully thought out what elements I wanted to play with: for music, I pulled out my beloved but retired Rejoicing With You, and I knew I wanted to use gold rather than Delightful Dijon. Then I browsed for some likely Island Indigo DSP. And I played. And flipped things around. And tinkered. And tweaked. And alas, here we still are, lol. So, no point beating around the bush about it - I actually don't like this card that much. I don't think I executed the color challenge very well, or, maybe I just don't dig it that much - ack! Which is surprising, with purple being my favorite color and all. Poor Elegant Eggplant just doesn't get enough play-time, IMO! Anyway, I always promised to put it all out there, the good, the bad, and the less-than-attractive, lol, so that's what I'm doing! Yikes! Be joyful! Rejoicing With You (retired) Stamp Set; Sycamore Street (retired) DSP; Gold Foil, Whisper White & Elegant Eggplant CS; Versamark Ink; Gold Embossing Powder; Christmas Greetings Thinlets; Curvy Corner Trio & PL Corner Rounder Punches; Gold Basic Metal Buttons; Island Indigo Ruffled Ribbon; Gold Cording Trim; Metallics Sequins. ![]() Pumpkin Club November 28! Don't beat yourself up over your card - I think it has many lovely qualities. The embossed angel is beautiful especially with the sequins around it. I also really like how you punched diagonal corners and added your sentiment vertically. Thanks for joining us this week at Create with Connie and Mary.

The angel looks fabulous embossed in gold and surrounded by gold sequins. You did a great job pulling in three challenges to make one card. Thanks for playing the Create with Connie and Mary color challenge this week!

It's funny how sometimes you just know something isn't working right - and frustrating of course! Personally I would consider those REALLY challenging colours to mix and think you did a great job doing so. The angel and the scrolly sentiment are I think a perfect match. Thanks for joining us at Just Add Ink again this week.

Doesn't it just drive you NUTS when you sit down to do something and you have all the things you need right then and you fiddle and fiddle and fiddle and finally just say...okay...I'm done. I do that too! Drives me NUTS!!! I do love your angel embossed in gold on the purple...that is so pretty! Thanks for joining us this week for the Create with Connie and Mary Thursday Challenge!

There's lots to like about this card, Heather! I love the patterned paper, the opposing punched corners, the placement of the sentiment, and the way you've used the colours. Thanks for playing along with us at Just Add Ink this week. :)

I feel your pain Heather - nothing more frustrating than sitting down at your desk and you just can't seem to get that 'perfect' idea to translate to your card. That said, we often beat ourselves up more than we need to as others are quick to see the beauty. There is so much loveliness in your card - the gold embossed angel on the purple is such an amazing focal point and I just love the diecut and buttons as additional gold elements. I think you did a great job with a tricky colour palette!! Thanks for joining us over at Create With Connie and Mary this week!

Haha, I loved reading your post, Heather. Good on you for being honest and sharing the good, the bad and the less than attractive. We should all do that more often. In saying that, there is lots to love about your card - that gold heat embossed Angel is adorable, particularly on the purple c/s, love the sequins and button details, the placement of your sentiment...thank you so much for sharing with us at Just Add Ink this week. I look forward to your next entry :o) x
