I LOVE the cool and gorgeous color challenge at this week's Just Add Ink #269 - make sure you go check out the design team's samples - beautiful! I decided I wanted to try to go simpler than I usually do, and I flipped through my catalog for inspiration on the layout. I found it in the sweet birthday card on page 7 - what a pared down way to show off these colors! So I updated the colors and altered the details slightly - so hard to not go back and add more! Still, I love this simple card, AND the colors, lol. Endless Birthday Wishes Stamp Set; Sweet L'il Things DSP; Soft Sky CS; Watercolor Paper; Basic Black, Versamark, Lost Lagoon & Tip Top Taupe Inks; White Tea Lace Doilies; Striped Satin Ribbon in Lost Lagoon; Blossom Accent in Tip Top Taupe. I love the colouring of the cake and stand - the colours look great in it. I also like the way you've looped the ribbon in behind - it looks good that way.

Great card Heather! Love the pale blue background and then the layers of the ribbon and doily. Gorgeous watercolouring. I love the shadow effect under the cake stand! Thanks for playing along this week at Just Add Ink. Rochelle xo
