This week's Create With Connie & Mary #332 makes a fun challenge - to create a gift card holder! I always am amazed by the clever holders I've seen others make - hope I can measure up! So, there's one style I've been really wanting to make ever since I spotted it at the For-Demos-Only Occasions Mini Catalog Preview last week - I got to watch a streaming presentation online! (And oh-my-stars are you guys going to be totally psyched when you see this catty! Your copies are on the way!) Anyway, one of the samples we got to see looked like a regular card from the outside, but when you opened it, there was this interior slot for holding a gift card. Wow! This style has probably been around a while, but I knew right away I needed to winkle it out, lol. To make the card base, cut your card stock at 5 1/2" x 10 1/2". Score the long edge at 4 1/4", 5 1/4" and 6 1/4". Use your Stampin' Trimmer to cut a narrow slot along the 5 1/4" scoreline, starting and stopping 1" from top and bottom. Fold the card base into a "W," and run a narrow strip of glue along the back seam to give a back-stop to the slot. Voila! Perfect Blend & Christmas Bliss Stamp Sets; Nordic Noel DSP; Baked Brown Sugar, Whisper White, Garden Green & Soft Sky CS; Memento Tuxedo Black & Real Red Inks; Hamburger Box Bigz Die (for the tag); Snow Burst Embossing Folder; 1/8" Real Red Taffeta Ribbon; Frosted Sequins Embellishments. New Year's Wreath Class December 11 or 13! I can FINALLY post a picture of our BEAUTIFUL New Year's Rosette Wreath, featuring the yummy All Is Calm DSP pack. It took me a week to work out how to get that little banner hung - argh! We will now use every scrap of our DSP sheets, lol - yes! So class is announced for Thursday December 11, 6:30 pm, or Saturday December 13, 3:30 PM. All supplies included, $20. Treats and snacks will be on hand, for sure, still time for Christmas Cookies, right?? RSVP today so I can be sure to have your supplies ready for you! And of course, if either of the dates is no good for you, please do let me know and we will make it happen! Cheers!
