![]() Lol, even though I'm not on this team anymore, I still LOVE me some Christmas challenges! So I'm back like a new penny to Sparkles #168, who would like to see something warm and cozy! One of my favorite cozy Christmas images in my collection is this snuggly moose from last year's Festive & Fun - a cute sweater AND he baked! Or steamed, at least, lol. I also love to color, of course, and this image is just perfect for a little of that, without being overwhelming. I gave him a pretty Mossy Meadow sweater, and dolled up that pudding, too, finishing with a few Cherry Cobbler Berries. I even found a little bit of Mossy Meadow Braided Linen Trim! Simple but festive - just right! Festive & Fun Stamp Set (retired 2024); Basic White & Mossy Meadow CS; Memento Tuxedo Black Ink; Crumb Cake, Gray Granite, Basic Black, Mossy Meadow, Cherry Cobbler & Pecan Pie Blends Markers; Mossy Meadow Braided Linen Trim; Cherry Cobbler Berries; #SCC168. ![]() Birthday Cards January 11 at 2 pm! ![]() What a fun challenge to close out the year! SU Only #366 wants to see "all that glitters!" I decided to combine the gorgeous Season of Elegance DSP with some Champagne Glimmer Paper and see what happened! I set up a lovely neutrals-with-gold background with the DSP and then cut five Forever Forest Pines from the glimmer paper to build my little landscape. It came out just as I hoped! I heat embossed this perfect sentiment from Decorative Trees and finished with some Gold Sparkle Gems. It ALL glitters today, lol! Decorative Trees Stamp Set; Season of Elegance DSP; Very Vanilla, Crumb Cake & Champagne Glimmer CS; Versamark Ink; Gold EP; Forever Forest & Deckled Rectangles Dies; Gold Sparkle Gems; #SUOC366. ![]() OK, I love the idea behind this round of Shopping Our Stash #537 - it's called "my precious," and no, it's not an LOTR thing - they want us to use something we've been hoarding for too long! Since we're still in December, I decided to do a Christmas card - I love doing these all year round, but really, December is my high season! I pulled out some super oldies for this one - my "precious" is these gorgeous Snowflake Elements embellishments! These delicate laser cut wooden beauties were released I think in 2014 or 15, and I loved them so much! These are my very LAST 5 - I'm finally letting go! I floated them over my favorite sheet of Country Woods DSP, and also added a sentiment from my favorite Christmas Sentiment set - Tin of Tags from 2016! Such a playful mix of phrases and fonts! I couldn't resist finishing with some Pearl Berries for a little shine, and I LOVE how it came out! Now I won't want to mail this card next year, lol... Tin of Tags Stamp Set (retired 2016); Country Woods DSP; Basic White & Cherry Cobbler CS; Cherry Cobbler Ink; Stylish Shapes Dies; Snowflake Elements (retired) & Pearl Berries; #SOS537. ![]() So lovely - In{k}spire Me #551 is rounding out their month of holiday themes with "Silent Night!" One of my favorites! After some thought, I decided to tap our lovely Shepherd's Care set for this one - they have their own line in the carol, after all! This time, I kinda CAS'ed a Stampin' Up! sample - I was really interested to try adding color to the image this time! After my Blends, the Water Painters are my favorite coloring tool! It was sweet to add gentle washes of color to select areas - I think pretty effective, too! It definitely evokes the song for me, too... Shepherd's Care Stamp Set; Very Vanilla, Crumb Cake & Misty Moonlight CS; Crumb Cake, Misty Moonlight, Old Olive & Crushed Curry Inks; Misty Moonlight Tinsel Gems; #IMC551. ![]() For Christmas Eve, we have this fabulous paneled sketch from Sketch Saturday #766 - love it! Blocky sketches like this are such a great chance to show off fun DSP - I always gravitate towards that, though I guess I like to bend the "shapes" concept pretty hard just as much, lol. ANYWAY, today is all about the Take a Bow DSP pack - it just gives and gives! I'm still smitten with these happy patterns, and what a great setting the layout made for a bold definitive "Be Merry" command, lol. Perfect! And of course, little Peppermint Dots go with every sheet of this paper! I floated all my DSP over a bold layer of Real Red, that I embossed with our Christmas Tidings folder. I swiped over it with some Silver Delicata to bring out the patterns a bit more, too! So go to, my friends - Be Merry, this day and always! Christmas Labels Stamp Set; Take a Bow DSP; Basic White & Real Red CS; Real Red & Delicata Silvery Shimmer Inks; Christmas Labels Dies; Christmas Tidings EF; Peppermint Dots; #SS766. ![]() Yay! In{k}spire Me #550 is all about Rudolph! Woo hoo! I actually don't have too many deer sets, and I didn't get the cute one that came out this year - argh! So I browsed back through my older Christmas sets, and came across Dashing Deer from 2020. There were even already some pretty deer diecut from our Pewter sheets in the die folder! Sold! I went for this pretty simple design, laying him over this gorgeous wintry forest from our One Horse Open Sleigh DSP pack - I still love this pack SO MUCH, lol. I then heat-embossed this sentiment over Cherry Cobbler (to match the nose, lol) for a bit more of a color pop. I'm really happy with how this came out! Dashing Deer Stamp Set (retired 2020); One Horse Open Sleigh DSP (retired); Basic White, Crumb Cake, Cherry Cobbler & Pewter Metallic CS; Versamark Ink; White EP; Detailed Deer Dies (retired); Festive Pearls in Cherry Cobbler; #IMC550. ![]() We have a lovely sketch to close out the year from AAA Cards #280! I started by searching for something with a small enough image I could stamp three times, and I ended up with my Hang An Ornament set - I really ended up not using this set hardly at all this year, but it has such a cute holly leaf and berry combo! I knew I would do a white-on-white layer so I could add some dimension to the card, so I ended up blending the whole left end of that panel - that way I only had to mask off the one edge, lol, but the float makes it look like a border all the way around! Good trick! I blended in Pool Party, then added my holly arrangements in Granny Apple Green with a Poppy Parade berry. This tiny sentiment in Poppy was all I needed to finish! AND, I managed not to put any embellies on there! Go me! Hang An Ornament Stamp Set; Basic White CS; Pool Party, Granny apple Green & Poppy Parade Inks; Blender Brush; #AAA280. ![]() Aw, check out these adorable cookies at If You Give a Crafter a Cookie #199! "Don't stop believin'" is our closing theme of the year! I couldn't wait to pull out my old Santa's List set from 2013 for this one - he's my most classic Santa! And he goes great with this perfect sentiment from 2020's Christmas Means More, too - can't you just hear Natalie Wood's little voice? I can, lol. One of our favorites! Anyway, these two sets are just right for each, and say a lot about keepin' on believin'! It's extra fun with our bright Take a Bow DSP, and a few Peppermint Dots! Santa's List (retired 2013) & Christmas Means More (retired 2020) Stamp Sets; Take a Bow DSP; Basic White & Real Red CS; Memento Tuxedo Black & Real Red Ink; Petal Pink, Real Red & Crumb Cake Blends Markers; Stylish Shapes Dies; Peppermint Dots; #Cookie199. ![]() No Pumpkin Club in December! I couldn't resist dipping back into my ephemera stash for this one - I have so much left even after classes and tags! I have this one big sentiment that I've been dying to use - just makes me think of winter wonderland scenes, and blessed nights! So, I naturally paired it with my retired-but-still-adored O Holy Night DSP - so many great things to do with all the starry sheets! I added a tiny 1/8" Silver Ribbon for my bow, and finished with a few Silver Glitter Sequins. Simple and glorious! Joyful Sayings Ephemera; O Holy Night DSP (retired); Basic White & Copper Clay CS; 1/8" Silver Ribbon; Silver Glitter Sequins (retired); #CIC608. ![]() No Pumpkin Club in December! Time Out Challenge #278 has such a fun inspo pic for us this round! So many fun little elements on this one, I decided to make another delve into my stash of die-cut goodies in the A Little Bit Festive Specialty DSP pack - I've barely made a dent! I came across this lovely holly wreath, and there IS a wreath on the inspo pic, lol. Sold! I do love the few paper pattern in there also, so I floated it over this graphic Real Red background. I popped on the pretty box, too, and then pulled this gold "joy" from the Joyful Sayings Ephemera pack - no stamping at all! It feels like cheating big time, lol, but such pretty results! I finished with a few gold Festive Pearls for a few final points of light! Joyful Sayings Ephemera Pack; A Little Bit Festive Specialty DSP; Festive Pearls; #TOC278. |
