Now THIS is when you need a speed challenge - when you're late already!! Jump in with us for belated birthdays at As You See It #277! Maybe it's cheating a tiny bit, but I hedge my bets a little by getting all my stuff out and ready ahead of time. So I started by searching for a "belated" sentiment! I had to go to the shelves of retirement for Itty Bitty Birthdays to find this one, and since I wanted to combine it with something current, I pulled This Birthday Piggy to go with. My usual trick of letting the DSP do the talking made me pull out my Tea Boutique pack, and snag the Deckled Rectangles for the heavy lifting. I pulled my Blends ahead of time, too. Started the clock, ran to the cutting machine, layers done, whoops, forgot the sentiment, so I quick chopped it out of the center of the base layer, lol, then turned it sideways and nipped off the end to make it shorter. Back to the desk for coloring and assembly - how much time left? Enough to heat emboss the sentiment? It would look so much better! Going for it, aaaaaaand - DING DING DING! 9 minutes, 44 seconds. That was close! I can't wait to see YOUR projects - meet you there, timer in hand! This Birthday Piggy & Itty Bitty Birthdays (retired 2021); Tea Boutique DSP; Basic White & Sweet Sorbet CS; Memento Tuxedo Black & Versamark Inks; White EP; Petal Pink, Sweet Sorbet, Crumb Cake & Daffodil Delight Blends; Deckled Rectangle Dies; Sweet Sorbet Matte Dots; #AYSI277.

Planning time and getting the gear ready - as long as you don't use it - isn't at all cheating. It's prudent planning. :-) And... those Deckle Edge Dies ... YUM! They are right at the top of my next order!

Yep, it's all about the planning for this one Heather - and I don't usually craft with everything set out beforehand, so that's a challenge in itself!! I love this (I am proud owner of the piggy set too!) and that extra touch of heat embossed sentiment was worth taking things to the wire - it stands out beautifully. A speed triumph!

I would have loved to been a mouse in the corner watching you speed around your room to get this card done! Hilarious! It's hard to get everything out ahead of time - it feels like I can't change my mind midstream - oh wait - I can't! Anyway - this is a super cutie and you did a beautiful job with it!
