I always have to laugh when I see this graphic - Cupcake Inspirations #556 is "anything goes," and it's brilliant!
I'm going off the reservation a bit again today with another non-SU set, lol.  A few weeks ago, I won top pick for a prize at Time Out Challenge #223 - wow!  The prize was a $25 certificate to Newton's Nook, so I did a little shopping on them, lol.  OF COURSE I found a new chicken set to play with - adorable!  What totally caught my eye was this hilarious sentiment - I just couldn't resist!  Thanks TOC!  Such a fun prize!  I think "chicken butt" is just right for anything goes, lol...
Chicken Wire (retired 1999) & Newton's Nook Cluck Stamp Sets; Basic White & Real Red CS; Memento Tuxedo Black Ink; Real Red, Mango Melody & Granny Apple Green Blends Markers; Stitched So Sweetly Dies; Real Red Braided Linen Trim; Red Sequins; #CIC556.

I've missed a few challenges here lately, but not this round!  Addicted to CAS #232 has a "sympathy" code word - good prompt!
I knew right away I wanted to bring in our gorgeous Splendid Thoughts set for this one, but I wanted to try something different for the sentiment.  I do occasionally get scripture stamps from other companies (Shhhhh!) and I have a new one to share today!  This perfect quote from Matthew 5:4 is from Stamp Simply's Blessings/Beatitudes 1 set - such a powerful collection.  It makes for a lovely sympathy card, I think.
Splendid Thoughts & Stamp Simply's Blessings/Beatitudes 1 Stamp Sets; Basic White & Pool Party CS; Smoky Slate, Soft Sea Foam & Pool Party Inks; Stitched So Sweetly Dies (retired); Fine Sparkle Gems; #ATCAS232.

Hm, can I pull a triple again this month?  Let's try!  At Retro Rubber #195, we're having an ombre challenge!  We have this lovely sketch at Try Stampin' on Tuesday #582, and we want to see Thanksgiving at SU Only #314!
This was a tough one!  I finally settled on my Acorny Thank You from 2015 for the stamp set, after a search for Thanksgiving appropriate ombre paper turned up crickets, lol.  So I tried my hand at making my own for the acorn background!  I embossed a Vanilla panel with the Timber EF, and then got started with a blending brush and my Early Espresso ink.  I think it kind of worked - need more practice!
I can't wait to see YOUR projects for our challenges this week - see you there!
Acorny Thank You Stamp Set (retired 2015); Very Vanilla, Early Espresso & Cajun Craze CS; Early Espresso, Cajun Craze, Crumb Cake & Crushed Curry Inks; Timber EF; Acorn Builder Punch (retired); Bitty Banners Dies (retired); Rustic Metallic Dots; #RRCB195; #TSOT582; #SUOC314.

Winter CAS

CAS On Friday #243 has a "winter" theme for this round's challenge - challenge accepted!
I have to admit straight off - when I think Winter, I think Christmas, lol.  And a lot of my Christmas sets are out in various class boxes right now!  Still on the shelf is Hope & Peace, a gorgeous sentiment set, so I put together some simple details to make it sing!  I layered a bit of the Snowflake Vellum over Pool Party, and then stamped up this sentiment also in Pool.  It fit well in this Stitched Oval Die, so I popped that up with some Silver thread behind, and finished with a few Rhinestones and Snowflake Trinket.  VERY understated!
Hope & Peace Stamp Set; Snowflake Specialty Vellum; Basic White & Pool Party CS; Pool Party Ink; Stitched Shapes Dies (retired); Silver Thread; Rhinestone Waves Basic Jewels; Snowflake Trinket (retired); Snow Flurry EF (retired); #CASOF243.

Wow, that's a fascinating inspiration pic over at Fusion's "Thanks Strawberries" this round!  Tough one!
I thought for sure that I was only going to be able to get the sketch in there, but then I remembered - I think I actually have a chocolate-covered strawberry stamp!  I found it in my old PS. I Love You set from 2012 - this set just has the cutest hearts!  I followed the basic layout, and used some dotty red to look like a strawberry.  I colored up my berry with markers, gave it a huff, and it was just right!  A simple card, but so sweet!
Peaceful Moments & PS I Love You (retired 2012) Stamp Sets; Real Red DSP; Basic White, Crumb Cake & Early Espresso CS; Early Espresso Ink; Granny Apple Green, Real Red & Early Espresso Stamp-n-Write Markers; Stylish Shapes Dies; Rustic Metallic Dots; #FusionThanksStrawberries.

I am loving the theme at this round's Shopping Our Stash #482 - "I only have eyes for you!"  Here come the googly eyes, lol!
I had to do a deep dive to find something for this one - I'm done with Halloween for the season, lol.  Can I do googly eyes without it?  Turns out, yes I can!  I finally stumbled across last year's Snailed It set - these guys were MADE for googly eyes!  I chose this little guy and opted for a fun purple combo, then had a little flash of brilliance and put everything over black!  That way, I could leave a little snail trail with my Wink of Stella!  I SO crack myself up, lol!
Snailed It Stamp Set (retired 2021); Basic White, Fresh Freesia, Rich Razzleberry & Basic Black CS; Memento Tuxedo Black Ink; Fresh Freesia & Rich Razzleberry Blends Markers; Clear Wink of Stella; Snail Dies; Googly Eyes; #SOS482.

Time for another challenge "recipe" here at As You See It #287!  Come cook with us!
This was a tough one, but, I finally decided I really wanted to use my A Fish & A Wish set - fishes are masculine!  At least I think of them that way since hubby loves all things fishing so much, lol.  Anyway, I played up lots of different blues, with some Crumb Cake details for my earth tones.  Since the fish set uses the Fish Builder punch, I pulled in a diecut from Stylish Shapes for my sentiment.  To finish us off, I had to have MY fish blowing little sequin mix bubbles, lol.  So close to leaving off the bling!  Alas, it was not to be, lol.
I can't wait to see what YOU cook up with our recipe suggestions - see you there!
A Fish & A Wish Stamp Set; Basic White, Crumb Cake & Pool Party CS; Pacific Point, Coastal Cabana & Balmy Blue Inks; High Seas EF (retired); Fish Builder Punch; Stylish Shapes Dies; Linen Thread; For Everything Fancy Blue Sequins Mix; #AYSI287.

Wow!  I am SO excited to guest design at this week's Time Out Challenge #226!  This beautiful quote from Nelson Mandela is an inspiring starting place!
I feel a little embarrassed, but I'm going to answer one quote with another here - my favorite one from another great man - and a great friend of President Mandela - Desmond Tutu.  BOTH of these quotes speak to me about how much power we have to do good in our world!  They speak in particular about the work these men accomplished together, as well.  Great heads and hearts, both of them!
I hope you have time to play along with us - I can't wait to see your projects!
Pursuit of Happiness Stamp Set (retired 2011); New Horizons DSP (retired); Basic White & Soft Succulent CS; Smoky Slate Ink; Soft Succulent Stamp-n-Write Marker; Stitched Shapes Dies (retired); Linen Thread; Soft Succulent Opal Rounds; #TOC226.

Hm, I'm a little bit past the spooky day, but Make My Monday #186 would like to see some Halloween Colors this round!
I still have this old Paper Pumpkin stamp set from September of 2019 - Bone Appetit.  The dancing skeletons in this one are too hilarious to let go!  I haven't used them yet this year, so I figured a quick trio in spooky colors would be just the thing!  Circle punches make everything OK!
Bone Appetit Paper Pumpkin Stamp Set (Sep 2019); Basic White, Basic Black, Rich Razzleberry, Pumpkin Pie & Granny Apple Green CS; Memento Tuxedo Black, Rich Razzleberry, Pumpkin Pie & Granny Apple Green Inks; 1 1/2" & 1 1/4" Circle Punches; Matte Black Dots; #MMM186.

Another first of the month, so it must be time for Sparkles Christmas Challenge #142!  We want some "festive things with wings!"  What fun to combine it with our sketch at Hand Stamped Sentiments #401 this week!
I couldn't resist pulling Penguin Place for this one, lol - they have wings, right??  Anyway, I also let him wear his little reindeer antlers today for the first time - definitely a cute accessory, lol.  He's really liking his frosty setting!
I can't wait to see YOUR projects for our fun challenges this round - I'll see you there!
Penguin Place Stamp Set; Storybook Gnomes DSP; Basic White & Pool Party CS; Memento Tuxedo Black, Mango Melody, Pool Party, Crumb Cake & Soft Sea Foam Inks; Penguin Builder Punch; Stylish Shapes & Ornate Frames (retired) Dies; Whimsical Woodland EF; Pool Party Baker's Twine; Fine Sparkle Gems; #SCC142; #HSS401.
