It's code word "spooky" at this week's Addicted to CAS #208! Let's boo this! I went looking through my retired sets for this - I haven't gotten too much for Halloween this year for whatever reason. I was quickly drawn in by these fun bats from Spooky Sweets, and there was even a sentiment that I could doctor a little to get the actual word "spooky!" Sold! I kept it super simple: a stamped and stamped-off foggy background in Gray Granite, with bold black bats and sentiment. I couldn't resist a few iridescent pearls to finish things off, and I even snuck in the crescent moon on the envelope! Love it! Spooky Sweets Stamp Set (retired 2018); Basic White CS; Memento Tuxedo Black, Gray Granite & Bumblebee Inks; Iridescent Pearls; #ATC208. Pumpkin Club October 30! Ah, my favorite style of challenge "anything goes" at Retro Rubber #169! The best of all possibilities! I went browsing for quite a while for this one - I just wanted something to reach out and grab me, lol. I finally landed on 2008's Inspired by Nature - SO love this set. I actually use mostly the grass stems side of this old two-sided combo, but today I wanted to play with my markers, and color up the field flowers side. I used to do this coloring style ALL the time - it really took me back! The only big challenge today was "huffing" a stamp so big, lol. Inspired by Nature Stamp Set (retired, 2008); Basic White & Early Espresso CS; Versamark Ink; White EP; Soft Suede, Crushed Curry & Old Olive Stamp-n-Write Markers; Rectangle Stitched Dies; Elegant Faceted Gems; #RRCB169. Such a lovely layered landscape sketch we have for you this week at Try Stampin' on Tuesday #529! When I saw this lovely open space on our sketch, I knew right away I wanted to feature some pretty DSP, and I knew just what sheet, too, lol. I have been avoiding cutting my sheets of this stylized berry paper from Painted Christmas for a while now - not sure why it makes my heart so happy! All the happy circles? The fun berry-like shapes? The cheery red-painted colors? Who can say, but this was my chance, lol. I even got to play with shortening this fancy sentiment banner from the Seasonal Layers dies - worked like a charm! I can't wait to see YOUR takes on our sketch this week - meet you at the challenge! Christmas to Remember & Christmas Season Stamp Sets; Painted Christmas DSP; Basic White, Real Red & Evening Evergreen CS; Real Red & Evening Evergreen Inks; Seasonal Layers Dies; Scallop Border Punch (retired); Gold Glitter Dots; #TSOT529. Oo, VERY cool sketch at this week's Hand Stamped Sentiments #374 - I can JUST squeak in! I'm really in Christmas mode these days, so I turned to my Tidings & Trimmings set - I got this suite early on when our annual catty first came out, used it for Christmas in July, and haven't used it much since. That's a real crime, because this DSP is AMAZING - all my favorite organic colors together, in lovely traditional patterns, with 8 whole sheets in every pattern! A demo's dream, lol. Anyway, I also love this layered star - can't seem to leave it alone, lol. This card is a little of all my favorite things about this suite! Tidings & Trimmings Stamp Set; Christmas Tidings DSP; Basic White, Soft Succulent, Evening Evergreen & Gold Foil CS; Evening Evergreen & Soft Succulent Inks; Tasteful Labels & Christmas Trimmings Dies; Wintry EF; Brushed Metallic Dots; #HSS374. We're feeling a little bubbly this week at Sunday Stamps #268! So, flying bakeware seemed like the perfect theme for me this week, as I'm already plotting my mass holiday baking (dessert buffet and tons of baked goody boxes, lol) and even starting my Costco baking shopping list. No really, dear, I absolutely need 6 boxes of Irish stick butter, and 4 bags of almond flour. Lol. I have him so well-trained now that he comes home saying, I went ahead and got you 2 extra boxes of butter because I think you forgot Thanksgiving comes first. We make such a great team! Anyway, flying baking tools - they dance in my head! I can't wait to see YOUR projects for this sketch - what else can you make fly? What's Cookin' Stamp Set; Basic White & Crumb Cake CS; Memento Tuxedo Black Ink; Crumb Cake, Soft Suede, Flirty Flamingo, Smoky Slate, Just Jade & Soft Sea Foam Blends Markers; Cookin' Dies; Timber EF; Sequins; #SSC268. Gosh, what a great color challenge at this week's Cardz 4 Guyz #281 - autumn colors for a birthday! Perfect for a guy! I started off already thinking - could I use the colors without adding any leaves? I don't want to look like a Thanksgiving card... Then I spotted my Hats Off bundle, which I really haven't used as much as I thought I would! I settled immediately on a Fall colors ball cap, and a nice sentiment to go with. My fave Fall colors are Cajun Craze, Crushed Curry and Mossy Meadow - so rich and crisp! I love how my two-color hat came out, and the simple look of this one! Hats Off & In Bloom Stamp Sets; Basic White, Crushed Curry, Cajun Craze & Mossy Meadow CS; Memento Tuxedo Black & Mossy Meadow Inks; Timber EF; Hat Builder Dies; Banner Pick a Punch; Brushed Metallic Dots; #C4G281. Oo, we have a cool color challenge this month at CAS Christmas October 21 - gray and red! I remembered right away that I wanted to try these two-step pinecone dies in the Christmas Pinecones die set - they go with the gorgeous images like the one I stamped on the envelope, but with super crisp details from the dies! I naturally brought in a sentiment from Christmas to Remember, which has a few extra dies that also coordinate. These super suites are so confusing! Anyway, I tried to keep it pretty clean, but couldn't resist a few red dots to finish things off - I love this calm card! Christmas to Remember & Christmas Season Stamp Sets; Basic White, Gray Granite, Basic Gray & Real Red CS; Real Red & Smoky Slate Inks; Seasonal Labels & Christmas Pinecones Dies; Red Dots; #CASChristmasOctober2021. Class is on for Saturday, October 16, at 3 pm! RSVP today to save your spot! Awesome! Less is More #453 has a fun color challenge for us this week - purple and yellow! This was a tough one for me - my first impulse was to play with my blending brushes today, and doing a cool color blend that I could stamp over somehow. Then I spotted my Handsomely Suited set - well, THAT'S been an age, lol. And I thought about coloring a tie! I think a boldly striped number like this would look good on many handsome men, lol, and I kept it super clean by supreme effort of will. I did color up my sentiment with markers so I could sneak in a little extra purple - yay! Handsomely Suited Stamp Set; Basic White CS; Memento Tuxedo Black Ink; Basic Black & Blackberry Bliss Stamp-n-Write Markers; Blackberry Bliss & So Saffron Blends Markers; #LIM453. Class is on for Saturday, October 16, at 3 pm! RSVP today to save your spot! Oo, a fabulous sketch this week at As You See It #260 - so many possibilities! I decided to pare this one down A LOT - what a chance to show off some gorgeous and not-used-enough DSP! I'm taking about my Tidings of Christmas DSP, of course, and I just adore the color combos in here! I matched it up with some bold Cherry Cobbler today, as well as my fave sentiment from the companion stamp set, Tidings & Trimmings! A sweet silver star, and some shiny points of light, and we are all set! Tidings & Trimmings Stamp Set; Tidings of Christmas DSP; Basic White, Cherry Cobbler, Sahara Sand & Silver Foil CS; Cherry Cobbler Ink; Christmas Trimmings Dies; Clear Epoxy Droplets; #AYSI260. Class is on for Saturday, October 16, at 3 pm! RSVP today to save your spot! It's time to mix it up this week at Try Stampin' on Tuesday #528 - let's work in some extra folds! I'm also adding a Halloween flavor for our seasonal challenge at SU Only #286, too! This was a real tough one for me, because I didn't get ANY of our new Halloween sets this year (shhh!) Fortunately, the ever-versatile Banner Year set has me covered! There were even enough spooky details to choose from that I was able to add the secret flap for an extra BOO to go with - we did it all today! I found some cute haunted DSP in my retired stash, called Painted Autumn, that had a whole sheet left of these lovely pumpkins - just the right size for a little jack o' lantern face! Woo! I can't wait to see YOUR projects for all these challenges - meet you there!
