 Love it - Retro Rubber #117 is "anything goes" this week - time to pull out a REALLY oldie, lol. AND, I think Hand Stamped Sentiments #321's colors will be perfect to go with, too! OK, so maybe not my oldest stamp set - I have some from the '90s, lol, but this IS one of my more "seasoned" lovelies - let's hear it for 2005's Fashion Statements! I don't think I've actually used this stamp before either - I'm pretty into the fancy bra on a hanger, lol. ("Thanks for your support" - OMG, lol...) But I did finally learn to knit a few years back, so maybe this one fits me more now, too! It seemed appropriate to add some Cableknit texture, and a bit of Soft Suede ribbon - just a very simple layout that came out pretty cute, if I do say so myself!  We're mixing it up again over at Try Stampin' on Tuesday #422 this week - there's even cake! With that pretty stacked cake in our inspiration pic, I totally had to pull out Piece of Cake to play with. I wanted some fun party colors, so I pulled out my retired Picture Perfect Party DSP and took my colors from there. I did a couple simple layers, squeezed in some ribbon, and colored a fancy bright cake to go with! Yummy! I want to eat every bite! So, what will YOU create for us this week? So of course we get to make a birthday card for them! I'm combining with this fun angled sketch from Fusion, too! What better way to make it manly than to focus on a pretty Pacific Point theme? So stereotyped, I know, lol, but I love this for the Broadway Birthday set I decided to go with, since this original suite had a lot of BRIGHT hot pink in it! I kept it simple, stuck to the sketch, and added a few details in texture and silver. I'm loving this new Hammered Metal EF from our upcoming Holiday Catty!  Sweet - SU Only #229 is bringing it home with a summer theme this week - good timing since we're so close to the end! One of my favorite things to do in summer is to take a load off my feet and relax in a nice chair with a glass of something cold - preferably in good company! I decided to recreate this thought with the awesome adirondack die in the Seasonal Layers set, with a few added details from its stamp set. Colorful Seasons. Doesn't that glass of lemonade look GOOD? So, the stumper for this one is I actually have NO tiger stamps, lol - I had to get a little creative with some scraps left over from my old Swirly Scribbles dies - and I think it came out pretty tiger-y! I added a sweet tea sentiment from my old Tea Shoppe set, and I think this is about all I can do, lol. Eat your heart out, Tony! Anytime I see any green paired with other colors, I think flowers, and I figured I could do tiny splashes of these brights with the little stems that go in the vases! And who doesn't love a row of pretty blue vases? I stamped each of them in a different strength, stamping off once for one and twice for another, then placed my stems. Ooo, AAA #146 has a touch one for us this week - a bit of a speed challenge with a summer theme! So, I tried to think ahead for this one - made in minutes and ultra clean and simple means one focal image, and it also needs to be summery, hmm... Good thing I hung on to my Beach Happy set - I didn't get to use it enough for sure! I went for the cute beach chair and umbrella for the card, but got the palm tree on the envelope at least - and a cute beach tote inside, too, lol. I guess a part of me is just rebelling at the minimalism here, lol. In celebration, though, I booked our April Maui trip finally - it'll be SO nice to spend our 20 anniversary there! This one was a tough one for me - it took me forever to settle on my "row" - I finally went for Yellow-Paper Tearing-Circle. I haven't played around with torn edges in a while, so I pulled out some retired papers to practice on, lol. I liked it so much I just ran with it! All my torn DSP is from the old Cherry on Top set, and I floated it over a layer of Crushed Curry, making sure to get a few yellow patterns in there. To keep the yellow theme going, I stamped this lovely sentiment from Colorful Seasons on So Saffron. And I of course cut it in a nice Stitched Circle! I'm really pleased with how it all came out - even with no embellishments! I am over the moon about As You See It #206 this week - it's all about the PURPLE (yay!) AND it's a speed challenge! Woo hoo! So, it took me a while to choose a direction - you'd think I'd be more ready for my favorite color, lol. Eventually, I landed on this "negative window" idea - I hardly ever use our fun Celebrate You dies, so it was good to bust them out. I pulled all my purple pads, got myself settled, and started the clock. I did two rounds of each color, stamping and stamping off once the "Happy Birthdays,' then quick cut my "celebrate." I got everything mounted and threw on a few Purple Posy Faceted Dots. Thought I was all set when I realized I still had a naked envelope - oops! That cost me another minute, sigh, so I ended up completing this in 9 minutes - longer than I had thought it would take!
