 Wow, check out this funky sketch from Retro Sketches #226! This one was a real stumper for me! I finally hit on using my Layering Ovals to achieve the curve repeats across the card front that I wanted, and I decided to go with basic black and white for that. Once I did that, I realized I had a little ready-made space for adding SOMETHING, and since I was already in B&W, I thought, her, is this when the skunk comes out?? Yup, this is my chance, lol. I found this little cherry DSP scrap to add a little touch of sweetness, too... Something floating, over fluffy streaks - YES! A balloon and "clouds!" See how my mind works? Lol. This card ended up being really simple, but I think very elegant. Bermuda Bay has grown on me SO much over the years, it was fun to highlight it for this card, though now that I think of it, I think it would be cool to go back and do a color suite of this design with a mix of sentiments - think it's hubby's turn to make dinner tonight, right?? So, can you tell I got a new stamp set (or three!) this week? That's right, I couldn't resist this refreshing little set, Mixed Drinks! And with our downstairs AC on the fritz, and 116 degree weather, today seemed like a good day to visit drinks with umbrellas, lol... I referred quite a bit to the coloring suggestions in the catty - so fun to play with making layered drinks, and adding bubbles and straws! All the little accessories are super fun to play with! I do admit, though, that my color scheme was mostly inspired by the fact that I already had an envelope made with this DSP in the pack - I must have changed my mind on it some time - lucky I still loved it!
