 Wow, such a pretty color challenge Cupcake Inspirations #548 has for us this week! Love it! These gorgeous floral cupcakes reminded me of the fabulous Butterflies & Flowers Layering Decorative Masks. I very strategically got these RIGHT before they retired, lol, so I sometimes have a hard time remembering to use them! I love the layering effect most for these flowers, and it seemed a perfect choice to do them up in today's challenge colors. I chose Melon Mambo, Poppy Parade and Old Olive for my version. So pretty! I added this cute little sentiment from our Cup of Tea stamp set; and finished with a few Melon Mambo Glossy Dots - yum!  Lol, time to bring out something new again at this month's NBUS #40! Luckily, I still have a tiny stack of never-before-used-goodies to choose from! One item I've really wanted to start playing with is our new Distressed Gold Specialty Paper. After today, I have to say I am loving this stuff! I love the distressed look for sure, but I also love the paper quality - flexible and versatile more like regular DSP, rather than our heavier foil sheets. I went for some basic paper application on my envelope today, and then went for broke with an intricate diecut from the Celebrate Sunflowers bundle. LOVE how it came out! I water-painted some color behind the dies, and heat embossed my sentiment to go with. Elegant! I always have such a hard time playing tic-tac-toe with cards, lol - too much choice! I finally settled on the right hand column - diecut, copper and patterned paper, which I made myself, of course. And somehow I still had "green" on the brain, lol, since I went all Soft Succulent to boot! Anyway, I first created a stamped off background using my still-beloved Timeless Textures from 2019 - the set with the coffee rings?? Never letting that one go, lol. I then added a sentiment from the current Hope & Prayer, stamped on a Tasteful Label. I wrapped up with some copper sequins. Love this quite card!  Oh good - I can just sneak into the current Can You Handle the Pressure challenge of "summer" - should be fun! We're pretty in to the "dog days" here in AZ - over 110 degrees for more than a week now, though the big temp spikes sure make for exciting monsoon bursts, lol. This kind of weather always makes me long for something like a scene like this - a breezy sunny day before the wind, with the spray in my face! Now THAT'S summer, lol. This gave me a chance to pull in my beloved High Seas folder for those perfect waves - now if only I actually knew how to sail! I decided to match it up with retired DSP from our even older set, the Tasty Treats pack from 2018! So yum! I picked out a cute cone sheet to feature, built my triple scoop cone to go with, and added my sentiments - I have a "thank you" on the inside - with a cherry on top of course, lol. Off to check the freezer, now... And if we're doing balloons, how about a pretty sky for them to fly up into?? Done! It was a punchy day, lol. I punched a couple cloud masks, and started with my sky, then dressed up some scraps of white in two tones for the balloons. Low key and fun - I even pieced a Tailor Made Tag for my sentiment! I had to make a crazy cottage, complete with spun sugar trees and purple lollies! I even had the Whimsical Woodland EF with it, and thought, hey, let's go for broke! So, there used to be a time when my Stampin' Spritzer was surgically attached to my hand, lol. I used to love that thing, and such a fun way to use markers! I thought for sure I'd pull it out for old times sake today, but then I noticed my new Gathered Wheat set, which has a STAMP that looks just like the old Spritz tool used to! Awesome! I kept it to a single wheat stalk over my "spatters," and tried out the cool dimensional banner die that comes with the set - love it! RSVP now to save your spot!  Another fun challenge from Less is More #468 - our cue this round is to "emboss!" My instinct is to go white-on-white for LIM, but what folder to use? Hey, how about the stunning Twigs & Sprigs EF that I got way back when our annual catty first came out and have still never used?? Perfect, lol. This folder is so pretty, and make extra deep and detailed impressions. It actually comes bundled with matching dies, the idea being that you could cut out one the twig shapes, and THEN emboss it. Today I just did a simple strip that I could mount on the card front. I went with this simple Phrase from our SAB Amazing Phrasing in Soft Succulent, which brought in a few matching Opal Rounds. After a bit of fiddling around, I finally settled on my Hello Ladybug stamp set - this one is quickly becoming my go-to set for challenging colors! I slipped in a big background of dotty Orchid Oasis DSP, and slotted in my remaining colors - I'm loving that Highland Heather ladybug!
