I started by flipping through my sets to actually spot the word "kind" - and I didn't find as many as I thought I would, lol. I settled on our hostess set, Begin With a Dream, and finally got to use the image I most loved - the globe! So pretty! I couldn't resist going back to our JUST retired For the Record stamp set - it has the perfect long hatch-line image for that side stripe element! I kept it all fairly one-layer - I started with the stripes (yes, I still rock my Stamp-a-Ma-Jig, thank you very much!) then filled in some stamped-off records for the remaining white space. These colors are so cheery! I did my sentiment all snipped and wonky, just for fun, and added a birthday wish to the inside in Tahitian Tide. Very playful! This seems like the perfect chance to ink up a couple stamps that have been hanging around waiting for some love on desk for a while. I was super stoked to try out of Rays of Light background stamp finally - love the distressed look of the rays - so awesome in bold Real Red! I layered the rays over some Night of Navy, and knew I needed my star to be White - I went with my old retired Stars Dies for softer angles. Last, I popped on a fun WOO HOO! from our Sale-A-Bration Amazing Phrasing set - I say that all the time, so I knew I had to have it, lol. There's a "you did it!" on the inside to go with. I finished with a few tiny star sequins - so cute! Oo, such a cool cue card at this week's Addicted to CAS #223 - "grid!" I think I have just the thing! There's this funny little "grid" accent die in the set that goes with Flowering Tulips - let's try it! I started with a single simple and sunny tulip stem, and added my sentiment tucked underneath. Now it's time for the grid - the upper went super smooth, but the lower still looks a little crooked to me, sigh. I did this three times, and it lines up according to my c-thru ruler, grr - let's call it an optical illusion, lol. A few Fine Sparkles Gems finish it off! Turns out, it still looks totally fabulous against our elusive Waves of the Ocean DSP, too, lol. I couldn't resist also pulling in the seaweed die - my fave, lol, and finishing with a few Whale of a Time sequins - ahoy, matey! I hope I see you over at the challenges - come join the fun!  OK, this is a gimme for me, lol, The Sisterhood of Crafters would like us to add layers this week! No problemo! I decided on some simple layers, highlighting our still-gorgeous Sun Prints DSP. I'm also continuing my love-affair with our new Deckled Rectangle Dies, too, my new go-to dies, it seems. One of my favorite things to do on larger dies is make "custom" sizes with them, running through a second time to take off a "bite," as I did today to make my sentiment layer. Besides our brand new and super cute Kindest Gnomes, I had to pull in our retired Gnome for the Holidays for the sentiment! I also landed on two different DSPs, in an attempt to bring some woodsy, but not Christmas! Very little stamping today, sigh - too many new toys! SO thrilled with our new Gnome dies! I set a little tableau for them, and then colored in my trio with my favorite Blends Markers. The only strange thing is that this set has no sentiments, not that I've ever lacked for Christmas sayings, lol. I chose this skinny one from our old Making Christmas Bright set, so I wouldn't cover hardly any of the mice! So much fun!
