![]() We've got a sketch as pretty as a cameo for you this week at Try Stampin' on Tuesday #503! When I started thinking about cameos, I quickly gravitated to another retiring set, A Little Lace. Lace and cameos, right? Anyway, I really have NOT used this set very much, but I totally got the bundle for the fascinating dies called Stitched Lace. I've played with smaller bits and pieces of it, but today I went for a full card front for my background. I floated it over Crumb Cake, and I love how it looks! A bit fiddly to clean up, but not too bad, really - it's a great die! I hope you'll have time to play with us this week - I'll be looking for your projects, over at the challenge! A Little Lace Stamp Set; In Good Taste DSP; Basic White, Crumb Cake & Petal Pink CS; Crumb Cake & Early Espresso Inks; Petal Pink & So Saffron Blends Markers; Stitched Shapes & Stitched Lace Dies; Pink Pearls; Linen Thread; #TSOT503. ![]() Friends Are Like Seashells Class April 24! ![]() Oo, lots of fun layers at this month's Stamping Pals #14! I feel drawn to going back to our preview set, Etched in Nature, again. I wanted to give the bird a go with my Water Painters this time! I think this one is in slightly more realistic colors for a wren, though I don't think I have enough white, lol. This guy is a little slimmer than the cactus wren posse that hangs out in my yard (and in my saguaro, lol!) Still, I like how he stands out against his subtle background! I had to re-ink my Versamark for this one! Etched in Nature Stamp Set; In Good Taste DSP; Basic White & Soft Sea Foam CS; Versamark, Memento Tuxedo Black, Sahara Sand, Crumb Cake, Soft Suede & Bumblebee Inks; Water Painters; Stitched Shapes Dies; Gold Sequins; #SPC14. ![]() Friends Are Like Seashells Class April 24! I was sad to see our Today's Tiles bundle on the retiring list - I really think I haven't done this beauty justice, especially the dies! I did a manly card a few weeks back using them, and I really wanted to go back and revisit in another color scheme. And with so many colors to choose from at our challenge this week - it seems just the thing! I love the different look of this - these colors are so striking together, and it also matches up pretty well with our gorgeous Tin Tile embossing folder, alas, also retiring this round. I'll miss these pretty toys! I hope you have time to come give our colors a try this week, I can't wait to see YOUR projects! Today's Tiles Stamp Set; Basic White, Daffodil Delight, Soft Sea Foam, Pear Pizzazz, Pool Party & Palmy Blue CS; Pear Pizzazz Ink; Field Tiles Dies; Tin Tile EF; Basic Jewel Rhinestones; #SSC255. ![]() Friends Are Like Seashells Class April 17! This challenge gives me a chance to celebrate another departing set - and this one was a bit of a shock for me. Arrange A Wreath has proven to be SO versatile and fun, and I'm going to miss it. I even made an Easter wreath with it! The layering dies have been a joy to play with, along with all the fun wreath accessories, lol. I think this one will be staying on the retired shelves for the foreseeable future! Arrange A Wreath Stamp Set; Basic White CS; Real Red, Pumpkin Pie, Daffodil Delight, Granny Apple Green, Bermuda Bay, Gorgeous Grape & Memento Tuxedo Black Inks; Wreath Builder Dies; Silver Pearls; #CASChristmasRainbow. ![]() Friends Are Like Seashells Class April 24! This cupcake calls out our retiring Seaside Notions set perfectly, lol - and shows just how I like to spend my time in the islands! Kicked back in a comfy chair, with a frosty beverage - the only thing missing is my kindle, lol. I kept it pretty simple, and did a fun background of palm trees on Sahara Sand (what else??) then did a pretty little beach scene to go with - I'm going to miss it here! Seaside View Stamp Set; Basic White & Sahara Sand CS; Sahara Sand, Memento Tuxedo Black, Pool Party, Crushed Curry & Pear Pizzazz Inks; Water Painters; Stitched Shapes Dies; Tropical Oasis Trinkets; #CI516. ![]() Such a sweet color combo they have for us at Less Is More #440 this week! After some browsing, I decided to take another crack at the Wrapped Bouquet set. I have to say up front, I've been a little frustrated with the images in this set, which are a combo of solid shapes and line drawings. I haven't been happy with the images stamped in green for the leaves - I think it looks a little off around the flowers. But, dang, maybe heat-embossing has been the answer all along! I am totally stoked about how it looks in gold, with shades of pink for the flowers! And a bit of newsprint is perfect to pick up the gray! Yes! I think I'm skirting the "stuff" edge for LIM here, but I also like my tiny details to button it all up. I think this is in the running for a 21 year anniversary card for hubby! Wrapped Bouquet Stamp Set; Basic White CS; Versamark & Smoky Slate Inks; Gold EP; Flirty Flamingo Blends Marker; Wrapped Flowers & Stitched With Whimsy Dies; Gold Glitter Enamel Dots; #LIM440. ![]() Yikes! As You See It #247 is another speed challenge - "blazing blossoms!" That might be a tough one to speed through, lol. OK, what's a way I could get some speedy bang for my buck? DSP, of course, and how about 2-step stamping? I happen to have just the thing in the Fine Art Floral suite! I love this big brush-stroke blossom, and it has LAYERS - that normally I would heat-emboss, or gild, but works just as well for color accents! I assembled everything I thought I needed, and started the clock! I Rectangle-Stitched my layers, stamped my flower in Mango Melody with Pumpkin Pie accents, added the leaves and then quick cut the sentiment from a scrap of Mango. I assembled everything onto my card base, trimmed my envelope flap, and then hm, sorry, gonna have to have a few sequins, lol. This added another minute and 10 seconds, for a total time of 8 minutes and 23 seconds! Not bad! Good thing showing a picture of my desk when it's over isn't part of the challenge, lol. Art Gallery Stamp Set; Fine Art Floral DSP; Basic White & Mango Melody CS; Memento Tuxedo Black, Mango Melody, Pumpkin Pie & Granny Apple Green Inks; Rectangle Stitched & Floral Gallery Dies; Orange Sequins; #AYSI247. ![]() Time to mix it up again at Try Stampin' on Tuesday #502! Let's do this! I'm going to slip in some DSP for this week's SU Only #273, too! I started today's challenge by picking my DSP first, lol - that usually slots everything else in place pretty quick! I knew I wanted to do the juicy fresh colors in Ice Cream Corner - my mouth waters every time I look at it, lol - but how to fit in the other challenges? Can I really do it all? Eventually I settled on a gatefold - it has more than one fold, and if I did it vertically, I could even work the sketch - so pleased with how it came out! I even fussy cut one of these cute cones for the inside! I sure hope you can join us this week, at either challenge (or BOTH!) - see you there! Sweet Ice Cream Stamp Set; Ice Cream Corner DSP; Basic White & Blackberry Bliss CS; Blackberry Bliss & Cinnamon Cider Inks; Ice Cream Cone Builder, Scallop Edge Border (retired) & Banner Triple Punches; White Baker's Twine; #TSOT502; #SUOC273. ![]() What a fun theme at this week's CAS on Friday #202 - "happy mail!" I'm all over it! I couldn't resist going back to an old Paper Pumpkin for this one! Our June 2020 kit was all about "sharing sunshine," and I can't imagine happier mail to get! I put together this simple layout, and used one of the fun stencil designs that came in the March 2021 kit - those rays of sunshine go with everything! I've just realized I might not be very CAS, though. Oops, so easy to get carried away, lol. Box of Sunshine Stamp Set (June 2020 Paper Pumpkin); Daffodil Delight, Basic Black & Basic White CS; Memento Tuxedo Black & Mango Melody Ink; Mango Melody Blends Marker; Sun Rays Stencil; Crushed Curry Resin Dots; #CASOF202. ![]() Goodness, what a "sweet" combo this week at Fusion's "Bee Kind" challenge! My fave bees so far (hint, hint - that's called fore-shadowing, lol) are these beauties from our old Dragonfly Dreams suite - remember this gorgeous DSP from Sale-A-Bration that year? Ah, it was so yummy, and I'm almost out of all the great gold sheets, sigh. I had just enough to buzz up today's card, though, and add a few Gold Glitter Enamel Dots for honey! Yum! Dragonfly Dreams Stamp Set (retired 2019); Golden Honey DSP (retired); Basic White & Basic Black CS; Memento Tuxedo Black Ink; Daffodil Delight Blends Marker; Clear Wink of Stella; Gold Shimmer Ribbon; Gold Glitter Enamel Dots; #FusionBeeKind. |
