Oo! What an awesome pick for this week's The Library Challenge #80! Alice in Wonderland! I wish I had something cute in stamps for this one - the old pen-and-ink illustrations are SO good, lol. I've always wanted a good one of the Cheshire Cat - my grandmother always used to tell me about when she played the "big CC" in her school days, lol. We loved this story! In honor of that, I'm paying homage to one of his best lines - and it really makes you think, doesn't it? He was always such a smarty, lol. I had a time piecing it together with my Make A Difference alphabet, another retiring set, and then I floated it all over this pretty scene from the old Country Club DSP. I'm pretty happy with how it came out! Make A Difference Stamp Set; Country Club DSP (retired); Basic White & Real Red CS; Memento Tuxedo Black & Real Red Ink; Pool Party, Crumb Cake, Old Olive, Wild Wasabi (retired) & Soft Sky (retired) Blends Markers; #TLC80.

So excited for our sweet banded sketch at this week's Fab Friday #211! Another set leaving us soon is the playful Dandelion Wishes. I've so enjoyed this set! Besides the winsome images of dandelion clocks (does anyone else still call them that??) doing their thing, there's also some cute sentiments to go with, in such a fun font - they are definitely the breeze playing through the dandelion fields! I did a little study all in Smoky Slate, and made a pretty background just from the escaping seeds by themselves! I hope you have time to join us this week on our fun sketch - I'll look for your projects over at the challenge! Dandelion Wishes Stamp Set; Smoky Slate DSP; Whisper White & Smoky Slate CS; Smoky Slate Ink; Stitched Shapes Dies; Frosted Epoxy Droplets; #FabFri211. Excellent! The code word at this week's Addicted to CAS #194 is "birthday!" Can never have too many b-day cards! My current fave birthday sentiment is the one in Sweet Strawberry - "you sweet thing!" Lol. Today I wanted to color up the also-sweet strawberry blossoms - so fresh and lovely! I ended up fussy cutting them, too - I have a hard time resisting that visual effect, but I tried to keep a lot of white space otherwise to qualify for CAS - hope it worked, lol. Sweet Strawberry Stamp Set; Pear Pizzazz & Basic White CS; Memento Tuxedo Black, Pear Pizzazz & Blush Blossom Inks; Water Painters; Stitched Shapes Dies; Pink Pearls; #ATC194. This challenge makes me smile! Retro Rubber #155 is running a rainbow theme! I totally have to go get out my old Sunshine & Rainbows set from 2018, and I think I'll even give stamping the rainbow a try, instead of die-cutting it - my usual go to, lol. It didn't come out too bad, I think, and I made some nice cloudy borders for it to be popping out of - I still love these border dies! A few silver pearl raindrops, and we are set! Sunshine & Rainbows Stamp Set (retired 2018); Basic White & Smoky Slate CS; Memento Tuxedo Black, Poppy Parade, Mango Melody, Daffodil Delight, Granny Apple Green, Bermuda Bay & Gorgeous Grape Inks; Rainbow Builder Dies; Silver Pearls; #RRCB155. We'd like to see some bold sashes this week at Try Stampin' on Tuesday #501! Sometimes I get a little blue about retiring items, but then I'm reminded - hey, new toys are on the way! For today's card, I get to preview one of our upcoming new sets from our new Annual Catalog - Etched In Nature! It's full of lovely etched nature elements, like this cute wren, who looks very handsome over our Dandy Garden DSP! I'm turning those blues into a bluebird of happiness! I hope that you'll be able to join us this round for our fun sketch - I'll look for you at the challenge! Etched In Nature Stamp Set (AC 21-11); Dandy Garden DSP; Basic White CS; Memento Tuxedo Black Ink; Misty Moonlight, Cajun Craze, So Saffron, Crumb Cake & Color Lifter Blends Markers; Rectangle Stitched Dies; Linen Thread; Misty Moonlight Enamel Dots; #TSOT501. We have some beautiful Spring colors at this week's Hand Stamped Sentiments #360 - including my namesake - yay! These days my eyes get drawn to stamp sets that I know are about to leave our lineup - today I was caught by See The Good. I totally got this set for the awesome artichoke - one of my fave veggies, lol, but today I went for the pear. And did I do it in Pear Pizzazz?? Of course not! I was thinking golden pear, really, lol. I took a few tries to finally arrange everything how I wanted, but I really do like the results for these soft colors! See The Good Stamp Set; Basic White & So Saffron CS; Pear Pizzazz, So Saffron & Highland Heather Inks; Pear Pizzazz Stamp-n-Write Marker; Stitched Shapes Dies; HSS360. OK, time for me to finally try the slimline trend - we are putting it right out there this week at Sunday Stamps #254! So, I played around with the full-size slimline dimensions to get warmed up - that's a lot of real estate, baby! I eventually decided to "slim" down to the same proportions, but that would fit inside a regular card envelope - that's more like it, AND it fits in my card storage box, lol. When I think of big sentiments, I always slip back to my Sorry For Everything Set from last year - that scripty "sorry" is so pretty! I went with the belated birthday sentiments, and dressed things up with the party elements from Hot Dog. Now I just have to deliberately miss someone's birthday so I can send this out, lol! I hope you'll have time to play with us this week - I'll be looking for you over at the challenge! Sorry For Everything (retired 2020); & Hot Dog Stamp Sets; Ice Cream Corner DSP; Basic White & Bermuda Bay CS; Memento Tuxedo Black & Bermuda Bay Inks; Bermuda Bay Blends Marker; Color Lifter; Clear Epoxy Droplets; #SSC254. This week's theme at Cardz 4 Guyz #267 is "by the water" - love t! I knew right away I really wanted to use our Waterfront set - I'm so sad this one is on our retiring list, along with the other two landscape-building sets, Snow Front and My Meadow. But Waterfront started it all! I created a little tropical island on a Stitched Circle (also retiring, sigh) with sparkly blue water under a gentle sun. I still have my High Seas Embossing Folder, too, so I decided to add a little texture to my background. Don't we all want to be by the water these days? I sure do, lol. Waterfront Stamp Set; Basic White & Pool Party CS; Crumb Cake, Soft Suede, Garden Green, Pool Party, So Saffron & Pacific Point inks; Stitched Shapes Dies; High Seas EF (retired); Iridescent Pearls; #C4G267. Yum, we have some fun snuggly colors to work with at this week's Cupcake Inspirations #515 - and I can JUST squeak in! When I started thinking about these colors together, I remembered building butterflies with my old Watercolor Wings set - so fun! These seem like perfect monarch colors, so I went for it! I dressed up my background with a bit of direct-to-paper swiping on my white, and I like the effect I got. I floated a big butterfly over it, along with my fave sentiment from the set. A smaller butterfly on the envelope buttons things up! Watercolor Wings Stamp Set (retired 2018); Basic White & Soft Suede CS; Daffodil Delight, Soft Suede & Memento Tuxedo Black Ink; Bold Butterfly Dies (retired); Yellow Pearls; #CI515. Woo hoo! Happy April Fools, how about a Christmas card?? Lol, yes, it's time for our monthly challenge at Sparkles Christmas Challenge #123, and our theme this month is trees! Seems like a good time to bring out the lovely Winter Woods set, I was sad to see it on our retiring list - the dies are so amazing for this one! I couldn't resist bringing in a sentiment from another retiring set, Toile Christmas. Such a perfect Western Cardinal in this one! Anyway, I pulled out pretty much everything I own in Mossy Meadow, lol, so I threw on some red Wonderful Gems for a little color relief. Time to go forest bathing! I hope you can join us in the trees this month - I'll look for you and your projects over at the challenge! Winter Woods & Toile Christmas Stamp Sets; Mossy Meadow DSP; Basic White & Mossy Meadow CS; Mossy Meadow Ink; Woodland EF (retired); In The Woods & Christmas Cardinal Dies; Wonderful Gems; #SCC123. |
