Sweetest Stampin'!

We're throwin' back at this week's Try Stampin' on Tuesday #467! I'm adding in some coloring, too, for SU Only #467!
I honor of the throwback. I decided to pull out a retired set, too, and 2009's The More the Merrier is still one of my faves! Lots of little cuties in a row to color in - perfect for today's challenge! I decided to accent with a little strip of dotty paper from our Playing With Patterns pack, and took my colors from there. So fun coloring all these cupcakes with our Blends!

You're Just Like Cookies

Dang, these inspiration floral cupcakes are STUNNING at this week's Fusion Card Challenge! I'm not sure I could bring myself to ever eat them!
With that thought in mind, I couldn't resist going back again to our FABULOUS set Nothing's Better Than, and get back to my obsession with this little cookie stamp, and its die! Now THESE I could totally eat all day long, lol. The one thing that's a teeny tiny bummer about the awesome dies, is that for the cookie stamp, it cuts off the little crumbs that go with that big bite, lol. So I added maybe a few too many crumbs using that speckle stamp in Waterfront - "problem" solved!
PS. "You make everything better" is PERFECT for the inside!

Oooo, this week's inspiration panel from Hand Stamped Sentiments #434 is calling my name! Take me away!
I couldn't resist building a lovely beach scene with my still-beloved Waterfront set, especially since it has a little beach hut in it to go with the pics! I added a sentiment, however, from our newest shore set, Seaside View - always good advice, lol! I kept things fairly simple, extended my "beach" so I could fit on my bright hut and some palm trees, but really, it came together quickly! This is a picture of where I'd like to be, for sure...

CAS Christmas has a lovely new challenge for us for July, a nativity! Love this!
I'm so excited because we have a new one this year at SU!, with dies and everything! Introducing Peaceful Nativity, that has so many lovely elements - too many for a CAS card, lol. I hope I still qualify with my textured layer, but either way, it's been fun breaking this set in... I couldn't resist including the donkey at least on the envelope, and how do you like that fancy foil star? Truly, a wonderful celebration!

I love our bright, almost southwestern, colors this week at Fab Friday 194!
I finally decided our fun juicy colors reminded me most of girly little cocktails with pretty umbrellas in them and everything. It just so happens I have JUST the thing for that thought now, too, lol, in our Nothing's Better Than set! I haven't used this hurricane glass yet, but I sure love it! Today's challenge let me make all KINDS of foo-foo drinks!

Crimes Against a Bookclub

This weeks Library Challenge #63 is super cute - Crimes Against a Book Club! Great title, cover and the story sounds pretty funny, too!
I couldn't resist the bold design elements of this cover - the blocks of color, the stripes, those SHADES, lol. So that's what I focused on for my card. I remembered that we have a retired pair of shades in Pocketful of Sunshine, with a die, even, so that's where I started. I've always loved this "dazzle" sentiment, too, so I stuck with the whole bundle! My search for black and white stripes got a little frantic, before I finally unearthed this retired scrap from the Golden Honey DSP pack, this was my only piece where the stripes went the right direction - I have GOT to pay more attention when I'm cutting such a directional sheet! Fun and quick, and a bright hello to send!

We have a cool and modern color challenge this week from Less Is More #423 - love it!
OK, I can't get in the habit of handling color challenges by pulling in the awesome Best Plaid Dies, but dang, it's so fun! I worked out today's version by building a simple plaid over white, and then running it all through a Stitched Circle die one last time - such a cool effect! I couldn't resist floating it all over a plain Smoky Slate base - gray is the new white, right?

Time for a fresh citrus mix-it-up at this week's Try Stampin' on Tuesday #466!
With all that citrus, I just couldn't resist pulling in my Cute Fruit set yet again - this cutie is becoming one of my faves! Don't forget to check the "Beginner's Brochure" - it's not in the big catty! I kept things fairly strait-forward - lots of zesty fruit, and pretty true to the sketch, too. I think I hear some lemonade calling my name now!

Gnome For the Holidays

Oo, we have another fun grid this week from Joy of Sets #019! I'm starting to get the hang of these, I think, lol...
I settled on the first row fairly quickly: string - paper tear - watercolor, mostly because I knew I wanted to capture watercolor, and use my awesome new Water Painters again, lol. I was also psyched to realize I could work in my new Gnome For the Holidays set that just came in my holiday pre-order - adorable! I'm so glad we have some gnomes to play with finally, I see them out there quite a bit, and I think any previous ones SU! has done are before my time, lol. I had some fun coloring my little scene (and my little guy, lol) and then adding my other elements - love it!

Gosh, we have some tasty colors this week at Sunday Stamps #235! I LOVE macarons!
I considered pulling out a retired set and making actual macarons for this one, lol, BUT, my Holiday Catty pre-order came just in the nick of time! While I try to leverage my pre-orders to go to upcoming classes, I usually allow my self a "play" set or two just because. This round, I couldn't resist Press On, a new coffee set by million dollar achiever Joyce Feraco - it's adorable! I am loving the sentiments, and I so super appreciate the style of the images, a bit retro, while also being very snip-out-able! This little row of fancy cups was just right for all our colors, which I also managed to keep pretty clean and simple, too!
