Cake is the Answer

Oh goody - time for a new grid from Joy of Sets #015!
I spent some time studying this one, and in the end I settled on my stamps pretty backwards for me - do I have a food punch? Turns out, yes, I do!! Lol. Piece of Cake is my solution to the left-hand column of Birthday - Punch - Food, and what a sweet solution it is, too! I had a hard time picking my cake combo, but for some reason the thought of fudge dripping down my layers sealed the deal, mmmm... I kept things fairly simple after that - this is my fave sentiment combo from this set, too. I also snuck in another color of the So Very Vellum SAB sheets - isn't the Pool Party pretty? And it's so heavy, you can't see my tiny glue dots at all! Wow!

I'm so excited that CAS Christmas has a lovely "Winter Flower" challenge for us this month - beautiful!
I had a few choices for my holiday blooms, but I knew I'd wind up inking up my beloved Reason for the Season from 2015. I love the multi-step stamping for coloring, the gorgeous old fashioned fonts, and there's even a fun builder punch, which I didn't use today, lol. I decided to take my Christmas colors from our still current Toile Tidings DSP - I really feel like these sheets go so well with this classic set! I tried to be poinsettia-forward here, and I love the results!

Awesome - Retro Rubber #130 has a cute sketch for us this week!
This one was a tough one for me to "shop" for, lol. I finally recalled my "they're more like guidelines" motto, and decided to pull out this fun oldie but goodie - Yee-Haw! This set comes from way back in 2004, and it was one of our earliest photopolymers I think the first one that was actually given a real case and printed insert. Being from Arizona, I had to have it, of course, lol. I love ALL the rootin' tootin' sentiments in this one still!

Oh yes, here's a beautiful bold sketch from this week's In{k}spire Me #416 - love this!
Now I FINALLY get a chance to take out the new SAB papers out for a spin - take a look at the lovely So Very Vellum, and the gorgeous Flowering Foils! I think I like these foiled sheets even more than ones we've had in the past - they aren't printed on glossy CS, so they take color PERFECTLY! You're also getting a little sneak peek at Ornate Thanks - a set that will be in our next Big Book, but will be available for you to pre-order next month! Wait'll you see this giant suite! So glad I had a chance to show all this off at once - see what an awesome sketch can do??

We're all at tilts and turns this week at Try Stampin' on Tuesday #449! And I'm thrilled to add some Spring for SU Only #245, too!
For me, Spring is all about the delicious berries, lol - have you seen the beauties coming in at Costco now?? De-LISH! I had to have a strawberry card to celebrate, and I pulled out my new Witty-Cisms set to do it! I combined with the retired Fruit Basket suite so I could add in some extra berry details, and I'm loving the finished look - and so tasty, too!

Oo, love this combo from Fusion's "Nature" challenge - great sketch, beautiful inspiration pic!
As soon as I saw that accompanying picture I knew I needed to pull out my pack of Feels Like Frost DSP - several snowy forest scenes in there - so glad this pack is supposed to come back again next holiday catty! Anyway, I kept it all simple and clean and true to the sketch - I figured snowflakes would be a good shape to run up the left edge for this one. So peaceful!

This will be a fun one - this weeks color challenge at The Male Room #131 is for "team colors!" How to choose??
I decided to go all the way back to high school for this one - orange and navy - go Spartans! This seemed like a good chance to ink up my new Sale-A-Bration set, too, Well Dressed. Chock full of guy images: a tie, a wingtip, a fedora, a fountain pen - lots of fun! It's only missing sentiments, but I had Itty Bitty Birthdays to save the day there, too - this'll make a cute birthday card for a guy, I think! I'm still rocking those Night of Navy enamel shapes, too, lol...

Such wonderful manly colors this week at Inspire Create Challenge #064!
I decided to add in Early Espresso to my mix, since that's what the "your choice" option looked like anyway - makes a great combo! I was just putting away my Rise & Shine set from another project, when it struck me that these colors would be great for the coffee sentiments in this set - I had to do it! A nice Pinewood Planks background, a Crumb and Espresso mug, and a Navy sentiment sealed the deal. I even found a sheet of my VERY retired Night of Navy enamel shapes - yes!

We're bringing on the layers this week at Fab Friday #185!
I have a bit of a teaser card for you all today! Demonstrators are getting a tiny head start on a new super-suite coming in our next Annual Catalog coming in June - BUT, there will be a pre-order opportunity for you, too, starting in April! Exciting, yes? But also a slightly sad reminder that we'll soon have to let another catty go to make room for the next one, sigh... Anyway, one of the new stamp sets in this super-suite (yes, there's actually TWO!) is the gorgeous Ornate Thanks - I can't wait for you to see these beautiful fonts and phrases! And while I'm going fairly simple here, it goes great with the OTHER new set, too, AND they both have amazing dies - you'll just have to keep your eyes peeled for more teases!

Sympathy/Sorry Card Class March 12 & 14!
Sometimes we all just need a card for sad times, and I don't know about you, but I never seem to have one when I need it. This class will help us with that, much as we're all sorry to need them! What lovely lily inspirations Hand Stamped Sentiments #334 has for us this week!
This finally gave me a chance to use one of the sheets I got in a DSP sampler - the Lily Impressions pack from Sale-A-Bration. I actually haven't gotten any of the lilypad suite items, but the few sheets I have also seem to go pretty well with my Lilypad Lake set, so that's what I used. I added some lake reeds and greenery, colored up my lovely heron like a flamingo and I was all set. I combined three different die sets here - that's a lot, even for me, lol.
