Ahh, I love the sight of Pumpkin in the New Year! Jess is kicking us off with a faBOO theme challenge, too - My Pumpkin Challenge #114 - "You & Me," however you want to show it! This is the perfect time for me to try my hand at some light scrap-booking, NOT something I'm famous for, for sure. However, it's pretty hard to resist with the seriously cute Real Life Journal that came for the December kit! With this You & Me theme, I figure I can use this month to make a sweet little book about us for hubby, just in time for Valentine's Day! Hope you'll follow along with me - I'm pretty nervous to try this! I'm opening with the cover, of course - future entries will show a couple pages at a time! So, what are you and YOUR Pumpkin up to this year?? Paper Pumpkin-Real Life Journal; plus, Perfect Pennants stamp set; Banners framelits; Coastal Cabana, Whisper White, Strawberry Slush, Pumpkin Pie & Summer Starfruit CS; Coastal Cabana, Strawberry Slush & Versamark inks; Pool Party Embossing Powder; Summer Starfruit Satin Stitched Ribbon; Coastal Cabana & Strawberry Slush Stretch Ruffle Trim; Owl Builder Punch (for the tiny hearts!)

I had some fun browsing for what images I wanted to use for this week's sketch from Sunday Stamps #66, and of course slipped back to my new fave, Life in the Forest. I'm having such a fun time pairing it with different sentiments for a quirky twist! For some reason today, I was thinking of the fable illustration that shows all the farm animals stacked up - and decided to try a forest version! They seem made for it... Note, too, that I'm finally using up the last odd Candy Dots on my various sheets - I usually do these on cards in sets of three, so I have a few sheets that only have one of each color left, lol! This is a thrifty card! Life in the Forest & Best of Greetings stamp sets; Very Vanilla, So Saffron & Coastal Cabana CS; Retro Fresh DSP; Tangerine Tango, Baked Brown Sugar, Coastal Cabana, so Saffron, Smoky Slate & Basic Black inks; Decorative Dots EF (SAB 2014); Banners Framelits; Brights, Neutrals & Subtles Candy Dots. Well, hey there, stampers! Happy, happy New Year! I'm back, with bells on! It was so refreshing to take a bit of a break, though I tried to keep up the posts for most of Christmas week, I decided it was OK to get a bit of a break, with a little New Year's Day post thrown in... It's taken me all morning to dig out my desk, and do my first pass at de-Yuling the house, sob, I'm putting the tree off for tomorrow. That said, I'm still freaked out by my empty Christmas card box, so I've decided to give a new sketch challenge a whirl - I've been watching Merry Monday for quite a while now, and I think it's a FABULOUS idea! Should have my box filled back in two shakes! So this week, I combined TWO sketches, my long-waiting Clean & Simple #273, and Merry Monday #90 (use ribbon or twine.) Fun stuff! I thought of this neat trick with the yummy silver ribbon all by myself, too, adding the twists for some extra detail. It made it so I had to double-dimensional the snowflakes, though... Can't wait to try this on a more open field, so you can really see the effect! Bet it would work great with all our 1/8" ribbons! Festive Flurry & Endless Wishes stamp sets; Whisper White, Old Olive, Cherry Cobbler & Smoky Slate CS; Festive Flurry framelits; Snowburst embossing folder; Silver Embossing Powder; Versamark, Old Olive & Cherry Cobbler inks; Silver 1/8" Ribbon; Brights Candy Dots; Season of Style washi tape. Woo hoo! Happy New Year! I've been taking a break for a few days, but thought I'd at least hit the first day of the year with the Crew! I resolve to keep on craftin'! This layout from Paper Craft Crew #74 gave me another chance to show off another awesome new stamp - available to you for ordering any day now, lol. Tried to keep it manly - makes a nice Father's Day card, I think! I also featured a few cool accessory goodies, including the awesome new Basic Metal Buttons - perfect! Look Up To Father stamp set; Whisper White, Pear Pizzazz, Crumb Cake & Chocolate Chip CS; Pear Pizzazz, Crumb Cake & Chocolate Chip inks; Chevron Border punch; Basic Metal Buttons; Natural Trim Ribbon; Linen Thread; Woodgrain Embossing Folder; Labels Collection framelits. |
