There's another great challenge at Less Is More #336 (&337!) this week - a one layer card that uses a colored card base - tricky!! Lucky for me I have two weeks to think, lol...
OK, problem solved with the arrival of my brand new Climbing Orchid set - it's just flat out lovely. I spent some time building a single spray of blooms on a Crumb Cake Base, and played with colors on scrap to get the subtle coloring effects I wanted: I stamped the blossoms in Crushed Curry, and them used my Blender Pen to pull out hints of color over the petals. I added touches of Calypso Coral with an aquapainter, and stamped the dark centers over that in Early Espresso, which also served for stems and sentiment. One layer is SO TOUGH for me, but I really love the simple elegance of this one...

Christmas in July Class July 15
I'm so excited it's finally time once again to launch our "Part 1" Christmas Card class - woo hoo! This year we will feature 5 cards, all using sets from our big catty, plus one PREVIEW card using a fun set from the upcoming Holiday Catty - how cool is THAT?? All 5 cards will feature sets that we haven't used in our classes before, even if they are carry overs from last year - promise! (Our "Part 2" class will be on October 21, and will feature all new sets from our upcoming Holiday Catty!)
Class is still on for Saturday July 15 at 3 pm, and includes snacks, drinks and a special treat from me, all for $25. This class is also FREE with your order of $30 or more! RSVP today - I can't wait to see you!
Welcome to my blog! I'm a stay-at-home wife, mom and empty-nester, who, in addition to WAY too much volunteering, loves to create, whether it's in paper, fiber or in the kitchen! I live in sunny Scottsdale, AZ.
