 It's theme time again at As You See It #258 - "in the air!" What a fun one! I went to the vault for this one - my sweet little piggy hasn't had some air time in quite a while! I even dug out some retired "cloudy" DSP to go with - we're all about the air here! My favorite thing to do with this piggy is to go ahead and stamp on a white surface, then stamp again onto a pink, touch up the snout and hooves and then fussy cut to go over her wings - I really love dimension, lol.  I'm loving our big bold daisy sketch at this week's Try Stampin' on Tuesday #522! It will be so fun to translate into a fun fold for SU Only #283, too! My favorite new big flower is our Sale-A-Bration Delicate Dahlias, and today was my chance to combine the line art drawing with the DistINKtive stamp - love it! I did a set of leaves to go with as well, and had so much fun fussy cutting! When I went hunting for bold stripes, I remembered these pretty gold ones from our Expressions in Ink pack, so I pulled in this gorgeous Pale Papaya sheet, too - perfect colors for my dahlia! Translating all this into a modified trifold was a piece of cake! I can't wait to see YOUR projects for our challenges this week - meet you there!  Goodness, how cute is the "oh, birdie" cupcake at this week's Cupcake Inspiration #522?! I dug around a little for some "chicks," but the ones I found weren't quite right. But then I remembered that I have Birds & Branches, which has this lovely nest in it AND dies to go with! And well, I hardly ever use this set, lol. Winner winner! I decided to make a sweet congrats card, and show some pretty eggs in the nest, with the proud parents looking on. This pretty sentiment from Many Messages, which I also don't use enough, seemed just right! So cute! I'm a real sucker for sentiments that mix fonts - extra plus bonus when portions can be highlighted with different colors, like the banner on my card! I even pulled out new plates for my machine so I could get a nice clean card front! I then went on the hunt for a nice squared sentiment and found my old Here's To Strong Women set, so that led me to this single stitched gold star. Must. Stop. Now. I have a bunch of little gold enamel stars I could use - must resist! Lol. Stamping Pals Challenge #13 is a "fab" fold challenge! I decided to show off some more yummy DSP, and I'm just not done with the gorgeous Berry Delightful paper from Sale-A-Bration! Since I was already pulling in the DSP, I decided to add in the stamp set, too - Berry Blessings. I ended up with a modified "flap-fold," landscape. Don't laugh, I really fret over what to call things, lol. But basically, I just wanted to play around with moving the fold-over flap around, so I slid it down to the bottom, and it just worked out perfect that I could add my sentiment along the bottom left to help hold it closed. What a fun time! So cute - Addicted to CAS #192 has an "animal" challenge for us this week! One of the sets that didn't make the cut into critter class is Friendly Flamingo. I love the images in this set, and the dies are awesome! I've been having trouble with the shading, though, so I just couldn't get it into class, and I'm still struggling a bit. Today I tried stamping this fine bird in Basic Gray, and then adding the color with Blends, I like this better than when I've stamped in Black - that was too muted. I might be getting closer! Another thing I love about this set is the perfect sentiments - like today's! I went with a nice bold contrast in my colors, and even finally used my Double Oval punch - woo hoo! I can't wait to see what YOU come up with - meet you at the challenge!
