We're giving a last hurrah to a couple of our departed colors this round at Hand Stamped Sentiments #415! Who's with us?? Since I got a very special delivery today of a pre-pre-preview set for our demo-only Creativity Now event coming in June, I couldn't resist inking that baby up! I'm not usually a big florals person, but the "translucent" possibilities of this set just intrigue me! I started by doing a stamped all-over background layer to check out the images - wowza! After I was done, I decided to try embossing it also - a cool trick I've been seeing a lot lately! I have to say, I'm really happy with the results! I popped up my sweet sentiment, tucked in a little stem and finished with some Petal Pink ribbon and sequins. So pretty! I can't wait to see YOUR pretty projects with our colors this round, too - meet you at the challenge! Translucent Florals Stamp Set; Basic White & Petal Pink CS; Memento Tuxedo Black, Mint Macaron (retired), Balmy Blue, Petal Pink & Mango Melody (retired) Inks; Exposed Brick EF; Translucent Florals & Nested Essentials Dies; Petal Pink Ribbon Due; Iridescent Sequins (retired); #HSS415.

I'm thrilled to be able to sneak into In{k}spire Me #506's latest challenge - such a cute combo! I think I can also JUST make Cardz 4 Guyz #322's National Bike Month theme! As soon as I added the bike theme, I knew I wanted to ink up my new Fun On Wheels bundle - cute wheels, and great dies to go with! I thought through the colors, and realized that Lemon Lolly is pale enough to go for my card base, so I was off to the races after that, lol. I pulled in my Stylish Shapes dies for some details, and stamped the map in Lemon Lolly behind the bike, and my sentiment onto this Granny Apple Green Banner. A few touches of Tahitian Tide Blend Marker and I think I pulled it off! Fun On Wheels Stamp Set; Tahitian Tide & Granny Apple Green DSP; Lemon Lolly, Granny Apple Green & Basic White CS; Memento Tuxedo Black & Lemon Lolly Inks; Tahitian Tide Blend Marker; Fun On Wheels & Stylish Shapes Dies; Lemon Lolly Solid Gems; #IMC506; #C4G322. Oo, good one! Cardz 4 Guyz #303 would like us to feature poppies and/or remembrance this round! I actually still have a fair amount of our old Peaceful Poppies DSP tucked away, so I grabbed that to get started. I settled on this sheet of big bold blossoms, and then decided to pull in For Your Country to complete the brief. I think the additional of the military details takes this in a guy direction. Anyway, I heat embossed my soldier in black so he would stand out against that bold background, and featured this famous JFK quote to finish things off. Love it! For Your Country Stamp Set (retired 2014); Peaceful Poppies DSP (retired); Basic White & Basic Black CS; Memento Tuxedo Black & Versamark Inks; Black EP; Rectangle Stitched Dies; Matte Black Dots; #C4G303. Sigh, Fusion is apparently channeling my kryptonite this week with their Wine and Cheese challenge, lol - yes, please! So besides being one of my most favorite combos, lol, this challenge is PERFECT for a new set that's been burning the air on my desk for a bit - A Little Cheesy! Wine, cheese AND punny? Yeah, you know they made this set just for me! I of COURSE had to pull in Merry Merlot for my accent pieces - so thrilled with the patterns in our latest DSP stacks - and then had my choice of puns! In end, I opted for a little cheese with that wine, yuck yuck, and colored up my images accordingly. At least these were simple to fussy cut! A Little Cheesy Stamp Set; Merry Merlot DSP; Basic White & Merry Merlot CS; Memento Tuxedo Black Ink; Pool Party & Daffodil Delight Blends Markers; Merry Merlot Stamp-n-Write Marker; Blender Pen; Stylish Shapes Dies; Cherry Cobbler Matte Decorative Dots; #FusionWineandCheese. Wow! Cardz 4 Guyz #300 has the perfect theme for their BIG anniversary - CONGRATULATIONS! In my first pass reviewing stamp sets, I spotted this "today" sentiment in Splendid Thoughts - how could I use this set and make it "guyz" enough? I decided I was game to try, lol. I think I'm skirting (so to speak) the edge a little with this one - this is such a delicate feminine set! But, I played up the greens and leaves, and floated it all over a Pool Party card base from the SAB Cards & Envelopes that coordinate. No flowers, no sparklies, no foils - just one worker bee, lol. That's my story and I'm sticking to it! Splendid Thoughts Stamp Set; Pool Party & Soft Sea Foam Cards & Envelopes (SAB); Basic White CS; Memento Tuxedo Black Ink; Old Olive, Soft Sea Foam & Daffodil Delight Blends Markers; Splendid Stems & Sunshine Wishes (retired); Dies; #C4G300. So cool - Cupcake Inspirations #547 has a fun and patriotic challenge for us this week - oh my stars! This seems like the perfect chance to ink up a couple stamps that have been hanging around waiting for some love on desk for a while. I was super stoked to try out of Rays of Light background stamp finally - love the distressed look of the rays - so awesome in bold Real Red! I layered the rays over some Night of Navy, and knew I needed my star to be White - I went with my old retired Stars Dies for softer angles. Last, I popped on a fun WOO HOO! from our Sale-A-Bration Amazing Phrasing set - I say that all the time, so I knew I had to have it, lol. There's a "you did it!" on the inside to go with. I finished with a few tiny star sequins - so cute! Rays of Light & Amazing Phrasing Stamp Sets; Basic White & Night of Navy CS; Real Red & Night of Navy Inks; Stars Dies; Snowflake Sequins (retired); #CIC547. Oooo! We have some lovely purples and pinks to play with this week at Cupcake Inspirations #546 - I think I can JUST make it! Looking over these girly colors, I knew I had to break in my Hippest Hippos set, an upcoming Sale-A-Bration set coming July 1! It even has dies to go with, with a few cute extras, as you can see, lol. I have to be honest, every single element of this card I ended up doing two or three times - girlie pastels are SO not my wheelhouse! I'm so glad I finally made it to something I'm actually happy with in the end - I think I need to clear my palette with a manly hippo card next, lol. Hippest Hippos Stamp Set; Polished Pink DSP; Basic White, Fresh Freesia & Black Berry Bliss CS; Memento Tuxedo Black Ink; Fresh Freesia & Polished Pink Blends Markers; Hippo, Layering Circles & Layering Diorama Dies; Polish Pink Jewels; #CIC546. Make My Monday #172 has the perfect challenge for ME - to use washi tape, which I always forget to do! I started by doing a dig for some washi - I found this pretty sparkly silver one with stars - I think it came from our old Magical Day suite. I covered a little area on some white cardstock, and then cut out this Stitched Circle for a little background panel for my pretty sailboat! I'm having to say a fond goodbye to Sweet Farewell with this one - such a cute set! The bonus is, I'm breaking into my new In Colors with this one, too - a little old and a little new! Yay! Sweet Farewell Stamp Set; Basic White, Starry Sky & Orchid Oasis CS; Memento Tuxedo Black & Versamark Inks; White EP; Sweet Sorbet, Parakeet Party, Tahitian Tide, Orchid Oasis & Starry Sky Blends Markers; Silver Star Washi Tape; Silver Epoxy Essentials; #MMM172. New Horizons Suite Focus Class April 23! Today's class is a showcase of the stunning New Horizons suite - beautiful images, papers and perfect sentiments to go with - I can't wait for you to see it! Class will include all supplies needed for 5 cards and envelopes, (bring your own fave snips and adhesive!) snacks and drinks, plus a special gift from me, all for $25! We even have a bonus project! This class can also be FREE with your order of $30 or more! Class is on for Saturday, April 23 at 3 PM! RSVP now to save your spot! Well, the day has finally arrived: a challenge day dedicated to my FAVORITE color, purple! Let's hear it for Addicted to CAS #209! One of my newer-to-me sets that I haven't gotten enough time with yet is To The Moon. Such pretty images, and the sentiments are equally celestial, lol. What always catches my eye is when there's a mix of fonts in the sentiments, I feel like it adds so much versatility! So I love how the phrases for this set look, a pretty Serif mixed with a more organic scripty one. Love it! And I'd love to see a Blackberry Bliss moon, wouldn't you? To The Moon Stamp Set; Basic White CS; Blackberry Bliss Ink; Purple Sequins; #ATC208. It's theme time again at As You See It #258 - "in the air!" What a fun one! I went to the vault for this one - my sweet little piggy hasn't had some air time in quite a while! I even dug out some retired "cloudy" DSP to go with - we're all about the air here! My favorite thing to do with this piggy is to go ahead and stamp on a white surface, then stamp again onto a pink, touch up the snout and hooves and then fussy cut to go over her wings - I really love dimension, lol. This Little Piggy Stamp Set (retired 2020); Carried Away DSP; Basic White, Night of Navy & Blushing Bride CS; Memento Tuxedo Black Ink; Flirty Flamingo Blends Marker; Stitched Shapes Dies; Elegant Faceted Gems; #AYSI258. |
