Hey, this week's Nacho Average Challenge #97 is pretty similar to last week's Fab Friday! Have to make this one shine... Today I started with the DSP - LOVE this Lullaby paper. It totally is a natural fit for baby cards, though I had intended to make something else work, oh well. I just love this baby set and framelits so much, hard to pass them up! People 'round here better start having more babies, lol! Something for Baby & Something to Say Stamp Sets; Lullaby DSP; Coastal Cabana, Baked Brown Sugar & Whisper White CS; Hello Honey, Pistachio Pudding & Coastal Cabana Inks; Circle Card Thinlets; Baby's First Framelits; Owl Builder Punch. Summer School is Winding Down! I'm so glad everyone has enjoyed playing catch up with our summer classes! Two classes remain, unless someone chimes in with anything else! No need to worry about being away for our regular class nights! Our Fall/Halloween Clothespin Wreath Class is coming up! We'll be getting together on Saturday July 19, 3 pm to put this cutie together! RSVP now if you'd like to join us, and remember that additional dates are available - the beauty of Summer School! $25 all supplies provided, along with yummy snacks and drinks! OK, adorable sketch at this week's In{k}spire Me #149! So much movement! Per usual, I knew I had to play with shape just a tiny bit, lol - so I did a little row of duckies! I've been dreaming about different colored hordes of these guys since I first got this set, and this doesn't exactly go THERE yet, but it's a good warm up! The sentiment continues on the inside of course, "...for your cute little someone!" Something for Baby & Something to Say Stamp Sets; Lullaby DSP; Whisper White, Pistachio Pudding, Hello Honey, Coastal Cabana & Crisp Cantaloupe CS; Baby's First Framelits; Pistachio Pudding, Crisp Cantaloupe, Coastal Cabana & Hello Honey Inks; 1 1/4" Circle Punch. I'd be totally remiss if I didn't announce a happy little reminder - new catty is now LIVE!! Shop away, my pretties - that's what I'll be doing! Celebrando Creatividad is also up, of course, I love having a few spanish sets on hand! Clicking on the catalog picture will take you to a pdf of the catty, and of course, you can always shop online in my store, too. To kick us off, for the month of June, Stampin' Up! is also offering a smaller $50 starter kit for those that want to join! You can also still get the larger $99 kit if you prefer. Email me if you want to talk it over, and here's a flyer of some more details - I'd love to have you on my team, and you'll love the benefits! So, looking at this week's Retro Sketch #104, I can see that I am not the only one enamored of banner shapes these days, lol! The Cuddles & Kisses stamp set has been sitting around un-inked on my desk for quite some time, now - I don't get much call for baby cards, but I do like to have a few on hand, so that was where I headed today. I still totally adore the images in the now retired Baby Bundle set, too - I might have to break down and upgrade to a current baby set next catalog! I tried to keep the color gender neutral - snuck in some So Saffron! Cuddles & Kisses, & Baby Bundle (retired) Stamp Sets; Sweet Sorbet DSP; Whisper White, Sahara Sand, Crisp Cantaloupe & So Saffron CS; Basic Black, So Saffron, Pistachio Pudding, Crisp Cantaloupe & Sahara Sand Inks; Dotted Scallop Ribbon Border, 5/8" Circle & Corner Rounder Punches; Banners Framelits; Large Delicate Doilies Sizzlet. Well, I don't know about you guys, but we're growing MY church the old-fashioned way - having lots of babies! We recently welcomed a new curate, and his wife is due early November - time for a party! In true Episcopal fashion, we like to do it up "right," so I of COURSE volunteered to do favors again - yay! Ever since Max & Ellie, I've had another baby shower favor idea burning a hole in my brain, and this was my chance! How cute is it to turn one of our classic "nugget jar" favors into a baby bottle?? After a week or so of trying to make a punch art nipple (I really tried to not say "nipple" on my blog, I swear), I ended up doing the top by doctoring up a baby bottle clip art I found, and then sizing it to fit our jars. For those wanting to try this themselves, here's a printable of those tops - 30 per sheet, ready to cut out! It worked out to 143 baby bottles - it was like a baby ward around here! Perfectly Preserved (retired) stamp set; Cannery Set framelits; Whisper White & Pretty in Pink (retired) CS; every scrap of retired DSP in any pink I have; Basic Black & Strawberry Slush inks; Oval, 7/8" Circle & 1 1/4" Scallop Circle punches; Pink Perle Cotton. WHAT a fabulous, fun and sweet time at the Baby Shower! Having one for twins just makes for twice the nice! The treats were SO awesome (there was even a gluten-free cookie, so I got to have COOKIES!) and all the presents were so filled with love... I love my parish! As promised, here's the tutorial for these little onesie favors - enjoy! Fellow parishioners already know - we have some pretty big news at St Barnabas this summer - our beloved Rev. Erika has two little ones on the way - EEEEE! As soon as I heard about the plans for a baby(-ies!) shower, I jumped in and begged to do the party favors - I don't get to do enough of those now that we're out of elementary school and in grouchy middle-school, gr. So today was R&D for that - what do you think? I had thought I would just do a take on the cute Easter favors I did recently, but then I remembered some cute onesie cards I did a while ago for someone's thank you's. I thought, can I miniaturize that? Turns out I can! Pretty sure I'll be doing the onesie one, half green and half purple, for variety. Let cuteness abound! Patterned Occasions stamp set; Apricot Appeal (retired), Certainly Celery (about to retire) and Almost Amethyst (retired) CS; Two Tags die; Word Window punch. OK, we've had like 4 days of overcast and rainy drizzle here in Arizona, and It's getting on my nerves. This is the desert for cripe's sakes! So when I saw Retro Sketch #48, I had just gotten some amazing news from a friend, and I wanted to bring on the sunny colors! That's right, not only is she due in August, but they've just heard that it's TWINS! Now that's more bang for your blessing! Congrats! Baby Bundle, Sweet Essentials & Pretty Petites stamp sets; Crumb Cake, Whisper White & Poppy Parade (retired) CS; Pawsitively Prints II (retired) DSP; aqua painter; Petite Curly Label punch. Today's Freshly Made Sketch #69 was a stumper for me - that diagonal divide was freaking me out! How to make it look balanced?? I finally settled on the DSP first - Sunshine & Sprinkles from the Spring Mini catalog has this awesome sheet of clouds that I knew I wanted to use, and that brought out the umbrellas! Finally, something in Marina Mist that I LOVE! Rain or Shine & Sweet Essentials stamp sets; Marina Mist & Whisper White CS; Floral District & Sunshine & Sprinkles DSP; Island Indigo 1/4" satin ribbon; Marina Mist, Daffodil Delight, Lucky Limeade & Crumb Cake inks; self-adhesive rhinestones. Well, I wasn't entirely satisfied with yesterday's rendition of Clean & Simple #211. So I decided I needed to take another crack at it! I also STILL have a set of Julie's that I hadn't tried yet - but, no time like the present! I don't do too many baby cards, but dang there are some CUTE stamps out there for them! More people I know need to start crankin' out the infants, in my opinion! I'm so much happier with this take on the sketch, and the color challenge - yay! Moving Forward & Sweet Essentials stamp sets; Pool Party, Whisper White, Wild Wasabi & Certainly Celery CS; Wild Wasabi, Chocolate Chip & Certainly Celery inks; Ruffled Ribbon in Pool Party; Dotted Scallop Ribbon border punch; 1 1/4" circle punch. Well, guess I have babies on the brain this week! Here's another Spanish card for my Espanol box, using the Al Punto stamp set. I have to admit, this new In Color, Summer Starfruit, is starting to grow on me. Never thought I'd say that! I CASE'd this cutie from Maryse Pelletier. Al Punto (Easy Events) stamp set; Whisper White, Baja Breeze & Summer Starfruit CS; Pool Party DSP; Adorning Accents edgelit & embossing folder; 2 3/4" Scallop Circle punch; 2" Circle punch; Piercing pack; Aqua Painter; self-adhesive rhinestones; Baja Breeze seam binding ribbon. |
