OK, I had to give another new (to me!) challenge a try - this is If You Give a Crafter a Cookie #164, for their January challenge! I laughed out loud when I saw this, and as I commented on a DT card that popped up on another challenge I play at, these are the only kinds of cookies for me for some while! I knew right away I would go straight to our just-retired Arctic Bears set! I also tried to tone it down a bit, and make wintry without being Christmas-centric - this set has fabulous non-Christmas sentiments! I was glad to sneak in a scrap of my wintry Beauty of the Earth DSP, but that's it - not a snowflake in sight! Arctic Bears Stamp Set (retired 2021); Beauty of the Earth DSP; Basic White, Smoky Slate & Night of Navy CS; Memento Tuxedo Black Ink; Frosted Epoxy Droplets; #CC164. Dang, look at these adorable snow-people cupcakes at this week's Cupcake Inspirations #534! Love them! I decided I couldn't resist re-creating this little gang, and I went straight to my Snow Place set from 2015 to do it! I love this set for a the little snowman wardrobe pieces in it, and of course the dies for each and every piece, lol. It was a snap to set up three snowman in the cute colors on the cupcakes. I guess mine are a little less portly, lol! I even added a Real Red layer to pick up those cupcake wrappers! Snow Place (retired 2015); Basic White & Real Red CS; Memento Tuxedo Black, Pool Party, Bermuda Bay, Granny Apple Green & Polished Pink Inks; Pumpkin Pie Blends Markers; Snow Friends Dies; Banner Triple Punch; Rhinestone Basic Jewels; #CI534. Time for another speed challenge this week at As You See It #265 - hope you can keep up with us! So first, a tiny little confession from me: I have been a little bit anti-snowflake the past couple of years, lol. We have new ones Every. Single. Year. So it's hard for me to get attached, lol - and I live in the desert! That said, there's a beauty in the Gingerbread dies, and I wondered if I could pull it off in Silver Glimmer! And I could part with one of my precious retired Feels Like Frost sheets, and use the gorgeous "Joy to the World" from 2019's Hearts Come Home! Let's grab a dryer sheet and give it a go, lol. Even with a dryer sheet, these silver lovelies took a full 5 minutes! Luckily, the rest of the card was a chop-and-plop! I took a minute or so to fiddle with the placements and barreled on through. Final time is 9 minutes, 5 seconds. A real close one, lol! I can't wait to see yours! Hearts Come Home Stamp Set (retired 2019); Feels Like Frost DSP; Basic White & Silver Glimmer CS; Night of Navy Ink; Gingerbread Dies; Adhesive-Backed Snowflakes; #AYSI265. Spring Mini Preview Class Dec 18! I'm so excited to share a little preview of what's ahead in our upcoming Spring Mini Catalog! SO MANY NEW TOYS! Class will feature 5 cards and envelopes, all from the upcoming catty (and a couple Sale-A-Bration items, too! Yay!) Class includes all supplies needed (bring your fave snips and basic adhesive), snacks and drinks, and a special gift from me, all for $25! This class can also be FREE with your order of $30 or more! RSVP now to save your spot! Class is on for Saturday, Dec 18, at 3 pm - see you there! Lovely - Retro Rubber #171 is asking us to bring the Fall colors this week! Gladly! I so enjoy checking my retired shelves for old faves - I really do have a system for letting go, but some of them, well, they're just keepers, lol. Like Vintage Leaves from 2018. We've had so many pretty leaf sets, but something about this one has just stayed with me. The sketchy quality of the leaves takes on color perfectly, and well, there's DIES, too. Even without any sentiments, usually a cardinal no-no for me, I still love this one! I was happy to add this perfect sentiment from last year's Painted Harvest - just right! Vintage Leaves (retired 2018) & Painted Harvest (retired 2020) stamp Sets; Very Vanilla & Early Espresso CS; Early Espresso Ink; Rich Razzleberry, Pumpkin Pie & Daffodil Delight Blends Markers; Tailored Tags & Leaflets Dies (retired); Faux Suede Trim & Linen Thread; Brushed Gold Dots; #RRCB171. Pumpkin Club November 27! Did you get your October Pumpkin kit yet? Oh what fun! Check out the video HERE! I hope you can join us for our next Pumpkin Club, Saturday, November 27, at 3 PM - RSVP to let me know you are attending, we will be all safely socially distanced at our big table downstairs! For those that prefer, I will also have this kit TO GO after our live class - just let me know if you'd like that option! Club is free for my subscribers, and includes any extra supplies you might need, plus drinks and snacks! I will also have a few extra spots available for club for $10, even if you are not a subscriber - come see what we're up to - full kit not needed, I'll supply everything you need for the projects! Just bring your own snips and basic adhesive! Remember to subscribe here if you haven't already - sign up by December 10 and you can join us in time for next month! OK, this is an adorable pink typewriter over at Fusion Card Challenge this week! Love that sketch, too! That said, I think I can dip into the Shelves of Retirement and cover both sides of the challenge! I keep 2014's Tap Tap Tap around JUST for the typewriter, lol, and I still have tons of gorgeous paper to pick from in our awesome hostess Pattern Party pack of DSP. I found a "thanks" I could use in our Sweet as a Peach set - I was little surprised we didn't have a simple thanks by itself in SOME set at least! It was fun to make the typewriter pink with my Blends, and I threw on a few Elegant Faceted Gems to finish things off! Tap Tap Tap (retired, 2014) & Sweet as a Peach Stamp Sets; Pattern Party DSP; Basic White CS; Memento Tuxedo Black Ink; Flirty Flamingo & Smoky Slate Blends Markers; Stitched Shapes Dies (retired); Elegant Faceted Gems; #FusionPinkTypewriter. Holiday Gifts & Packaging Class, Sunday, Nov 14, 3 PM It's finally here! My Holiday Extravaganza, of gifts and packaging, and my appreciation dessert buffet for YOU! I so love the chance to bake up a storm for you! Class will feature 5 projects, and a lovely Christmas goodies buffet, drinks, and a special gift from me, all for $25! Class can also be FREE with your order of $30 or more! Class is announced for SUNDAY, November 14, at 3 pm - note the different day! Holiday frenzy is already starting, sigh, lol. RSVP today to save your spot! Such a lovely layered landscape sketch we have for you this week at Try Stampin' on Tuesday #529! When I saw this lovely open space on our sketch, I knew right away I wanted to feature some pretty DSP, and I knew just what sheet, too, lol. I have been avoiding cutting my sheets of this stylized berry paper from Painted Christmas for a while now - not sure why it makes my heart so happy! All the happy circles? The fun berry-like shapes? The cheery red-painted colors? Who can say, but this was my chance, lol. I even got to play with shortening this fancy sentiment banner from the Seasonal Layers dies - worked like a charm! I can't wait to see YOUR takes on our sketch this week - meet you at the challenge! Christmas to Remember & Christmas Season Stamp Sets; Painted Christmas DSP; Basic White, Real Red & Evening Evergreen CS; Real Red & Evening Evergreen Inks; Seasonal Layers Dies; Scallop Border Punch (retired); Gold Glitter Dots; #TSOT529. Pumpkin Club October 30! Did you get your September Pumpkin kit yet? Snow is glistening! Check out the video HERE! I hope you can join us for our next Pumpkin Club, Saturday, October 30, at 3 PM - RSVP to let me know you are attending, we will be all safely socially distanced at our big table downstairs! For those that prefer, I will also have this kit TO GO after our live class - just let me know if you'd like that option! Just bring your own snips and basic adhesive! Remember to subscribe here if you haven't already - sign up by November 10 and you can join us in time for next month! So excited - Addicted to CAS #207 has the perfect code word this week - "autumn!" I turned right away to my Pretty Pumpkins set - I knew already I wanted to brighten up this particular pumpkin in Fall colors! I ended up using sponge daubers to add a mix of Cajun Craze, Pumpkin Pie and Crushed Curry. A couple Soft Succulent leaves was just the right finishing touch. I snuck in a tiny strip of Harvest Meadow DSP - I'm really scraping the barrel on this pack! I literally have no scrap wider than 3" left, lol. I think we liked this one! Such a fun challenge! Pretty Pumpkins Stamp Set; Harvest Meadow DSP; Basic White CS; Memento Tuxedo Black, Cajun Craze, Pumpkin Pie, Crushed Curry & Soft Succulent Inks; Soft Succulent Blend Marker; Detailed Pumpkins Dies; Sequins For Everything; #ATC207. Christmas Cards 2021 Part 2 Class October 16! Ahhh, there can never be too many Christmas Cards! This class will feature 5 more lovely Holiday cards and envelopes - yay! All supplies are provided (bring your own snips and basic adhesive!), plus snacks, drinks and a special gift from me, all for $25! This class can also be FREE with your order for $30 or more! Class is on for Saturday, October 16, at 3 pm! RSVP today to save your spot! I couldn't resist this intriguing color combo over at Hand Stamped Sentiments #372 - gorgeous! I'm especially delighted to see Merry Merlot in this mix - I think this is one of our most under-served colors, lol. And it's beautiful! So I featured that for my "detail" picture - my background layer and the sentiment, plus my fussy-cut set of leaves from Little Delights. This set was made for making your own DSP! I chose the Autumnal leaves for this color combo, and the sentiment that went with, but then I found my remaining Gold Holly Leaves to throw on there, too - oops! I think the gold goes great with these colors, anyway! Little Delights Stamp Set; Basic White & Merry Merlot CS; Merry Merlot, Petal Pink & Cinnamon Cider Inks; Tasteful Labels Dies; Gold Holly Leaves; #HSS372. Pumpkin Club September 25! Did you get your September Pumpkin kit yet? Bring on the pumpkins! Check out the video HERE! And HERE for a special bonus project! Remember to subscribe here if you haven't already - sign up by October 10 and you can join us in time for next month! Oh gosh, what a clever theme at this week's Cardz 4 Guyz #278 - things with tails! I laughed out loud!! I knew right away I'd be going to that cute little bear butt in Count On Me. There's a tail there - small but mighty! I stamped him on Crumb Cake for some quick all-over color, and then used a Crumb Cake Blends Marker to highlight his detail lines. I filled in the sweet heart with Calypso Coral - not pink, but in the zone, lol. I though the bear would look great over this woodgrain sheet from the Beauty of the Earth DSP pack, and I finished with these Bronze-y Brushed Metallic Dots. I think all together it's not too foo-foo for a guy! Count on Me Stamp Set; Beauty of the Earth DSP; Basic White, Early Espresso & Crumb Cake CS; Memento Tuxedo Black Ink; Crumb Cake & Calypso Coral Blends Markers; Brushed Metallic Dots; #C4G278. Fall Cards Class Sep 11! Today's class will be all about Fall and Harvest cards, and will feature some lovely Autumn sets from both our Annual and Holiday Mini catalogs! Class will be for 5 cards and envelopes, and will include all supplies needed (bring your own snips and adhesive!) I'll also supply snacks, drinks and a special gift, all for $25! Class can also be FREE with your order of $30 or more! Class is on for Saturday, September 11, at 3 PM, or is also available to go after our in person session! RSVP today to save your spot! Such a cute inspiration pic at this week's Cupcake Inspirations #525 - love those colors! I went back and forth and finally settled on the Measure of Love stamp set - I really couldn't help it for this challenge, lol! I know we don't have have cupcakes on our cards, but sometimes, well, it just works out that way! This is actually the first time I've used this little pyramid of cupcakes, and I decided to color with Blends, rather than use the little fill-in stamps - tasty! I kept things really simple, added some layering, and finally finished with some leftover Paper Pumpkin sequins - perfect color match! Measure of Love Stamp Set; Basic White & Coastal Cabana CS; Memento Tuxedo Black & Real Red Ink; Medium Crumb Cake Blendability Marker (retired); Pool Party & Real Red Blends Markers; Pool Party Sequins; #CI525. Pumpkin Club August 28! Did you get your August Pumpkin kit yet? Shelly has so much in store for us! Check out the video HERE!
