![]() What a cool challenge! Inspire Create Challenge #196 is called "oranges and lemons," and it can be the fruit or the colors, or both! I sort of remembered that there was a sheet in our just past Sale-A-Bration DSP pack that had BOTH lemons and oranges on it - when I went to check, I realized I must have liked it then, too, because all I had left were scraps, lol. No problem! When life gives you scraps - make a scrappy card! I cut a Black background for my strips to really pop against, and set them up all topsy-turvy, popping up a couple with dimensionals. Next I punched this two-part sentiment from my old Lemon Zest stamp set, from 2019 - perfect! A few Matte Black Dots are just the right touch to finish things off! Lemon Zest Stamp Set (retired 2019); Fruit Salad DSP (retired); Basic White & Basic Black CS; Memento Tuxedo Black & Daffodil Delight Inks; 1 1/2" and 1 1/4" Circle Punches; Matte Black Dots; #ICC196.

![]() Very nice - CAS on Friday #312 is all about going "botanical!" One of my not-inked-enough botanical sets is 2023's Bamboo Beauty - so pretty! I did some stamping and stamping-off to set up my left-justified bamboo details in Wild Wheat, and went back and added the sparing leaves in the same manner. I settled on this simple sentiment, and decided to float it over the stalks to keep everything to the side, and finished with a few Wild Wheat Glossy Dots. Just right! Bamboo Beauty Stamp Set; Basic White & Wild Wheat (retired) CS; Wild Wheat Ink (retired); 1 1/4" Circle Punch; Wild Wheat Glossy Dots (retired); #CASOF312. ![]() We have such a fun bubbly sketch for you all this round at Sunday Stamps #364! I decided to go all party animal today, lol. So easy with my One More Year stamp set! This little squinty pug was of course the whole reason I got this set, lol. I stamped and colored up this matching trio, then punched them out with a 1 1/2" Circle Punch. I did up a nice background in Poppy Parade, and put it all together - looks so fun! I love polka dots so much! I can't wait to see what YOU make of our sketch - meet you at the challenge! One More Year Stamp Set; Poppy Parade DSP; Basic White & Poppy Parade CS; Memento Tuxedo Black Ink; Poppy Parade, Balmy Blue, Crumb Cake & Pretty in Pink Blends Markers; 1 1/2" Circle Punch; Balmy Blue Rainbow Dots; #SSC364. ![]() Wow, In{k}spire Me #565 has another cute combo - check out that cool sketch! This was a tough one for me, but I finally pulled it off! I really wanted to turn the sketch, but how to make it look like something real? Lol, that might have come out wrong! Anyway, I finally realized that a lot of the colors I wanted were in the Celebratory Sips DSP, so I pulled the Cheers & Sips bundle, and started playing! The DSP totally helped me pull in my extra color of Cloud Cover as well! I'm pretty stoked with how this came out! Cheers & Sips Stamp Set & Dies; Celebratory Sips DSP; Basic White & Cloud Cover CS; Secret Sea, Lemon Lolly & Strawberry Slush Inks; Water Painter; Lemon Lolly, Strawberry Slush & Cloud Cover Blends Markers; Large Oval Punch (retired); Strawberry Slush Faux Linen Trim; Secret Sea Flat Pearls; #IMC565. ![]() Oo! I LOVE the bright colors at this round of Hand Stamped Sentiments #466! I decided to break in a new and upcoming set for this one, too - and it has awesome dies as well! This bundle is called Label Me Grateful, and it's chock-full of sweet and gracious sentiments like this one. There are also some shorter "inside" sentiments, too - I put a pretty "thank you" on the inside of this card! I found this old DSP sheet in Coastal Cabana in the scrap folder for my background and envelope, then went to town with my big label, and the stem and flower details with the dies. I got to finish with a few of the In Color Flat Pearls, too! Label Me Grateful Stamp Set & Dies; Coastal Cabana DSP (retired); Basic White, Coastal Cabana, Granny Apple Green & Strawberry Slush CS; Memento Tuxedo Black Ink; Strawberry Slush Flat Pearls; #HSS466. ![]() Excellent! SU Only #379 is running a new In Color challenge this round - and I have to admit, I'm pretty smitten with them! I decided they would look fabulous on Try a Sketch on Tuesday #673, too - been a while since I doubled up! I'm all stamp-ink-paper today with this one! I stuck pretty tight to the sketch, and pulled in all five new In Colors, which I have to say, are really growing on me, as usual, lol. I set up my background as a split panel between Cloud Cover and Secret Sea, then did my circles in Darling Duckling, Timid Tiger and Strawberry Slush. To add a little bit extra, lol, I also embossed all the circles and half the background panel - just a random selection I pulled out of the folder bin! I added a Simply Said sentiment, and finished with some Strawberry Slush Flat Pearls. Just cute! Simply Said Stamp Set; Basic White, Secret Sea, Cloud Cover, Timid Tiger, Darling Duckling & Strawberry Slush CS; Secret Sea Ink; 1 7/8" Circle Punch; Glass, Hive, Basics 2 & Forever Plaid Efs; Strawberry Slush Flat Pearls; #SUOC379; #TSOT673. ![]() I'm really liking the anything goes challenge at AAA Cards #293 - with an optional twist of a sentiment focus! I decided I wanted to do something peek-a-boo, lol - cut out some letters to show a pretty background behind - such an easy way to make a sentiment focus! I went to hunt through my alphabet dies, but then I came across my old Circle Card dies - and it had this little "yay!" I couldn't resist, so I paired it with 2022's Amazing Phrasing, an old Sale-A-Bration set, and I was smitten! To heighten the excitement, I did it over this starry sheet from the Bright & Beautiful DSP pack - I think I managed to keep it pretty CAS, too! Amazing Phrasing Stamp Set (retired 2022); Bright & Beautiful DSP; Basic White CS; Memento Tuxedo Black; Lemon Lolly Dots; #AAA293. ![]() Woo hoo! We want to celebrate ALL the birthdays here at Retro Rubber #258 - bring on the balloons! Today I pulled one of my most retro sets to play with - Carry On from 2012! This was a hostess set that got pulled early from the catalog - I was so glad I had snagged it early! I LOVE the "keep calm" trope, and this set has a few combos that just make me giggle - like the one I did today for a birthday! I decided to heat emboss in white over Real Red like the classic posters, then I floated that over some Blueberry Bushel to upsize the panel. Right before I pop-dotted it down, I wondered, could I get a flag effect by chopping up another rectangle to slide behind it?? Why yes, I can! I love how this turned! I can't wait to see YOUR birthday celebrations - and don't forget to make it RETRO! Carry On (retired 2012) & Simply Said (inside) Stamp Sets; Basic White, Real Red & Blueberry Bushel CS; Versamark, Real Red & Blueberry Bushel Inks; White EP; Rectangle Stitched Dies; Ribbon Dots; #RRCB258. ![]() Yay! Time to see some summer fun at Make My Monday #255 this round! While going through some shelves this week, I came across this cute bundle from Newton's Nook called Beach Bound - I think I won it as a prize from a blog challenge, used it once, and then forgot about it, lol. How perfect is it for today's challenge, though?? I set up a sunny background with a sheet from the Sunshine & Rainbows DSP pack - I think this was from a past Sale-A-Bration, lol. Next I paired up these two summery sentiments, and added the surfing jeep in between - so fun! I can't wait to see what YOU get up to for summer fun - meet you at the challenge! Newton's Nook Beach Bound Stamp Set & Dies; Sunshine & Rainbows DSP (retired); Basic White & Pool Party CS; Memento Tuxedo Black Ink; Blueberry Bushel, Pool Party, Basic Black, Smoky Slate & Real Red Blends Markers; Stylish Shapes Dies; #MMM255. ![]() Such a cool beachy inspo picture at this round of Time Out Challenges #291! I checked over my retired ocean sets, and quickly realized that I think it's been WAY too long since I had Seaside Notions out! I still love this set so much - these images just can't be beat! I set up my embossed backgrounds of a Seabed heart over some Soft Waves, and got to work on my shells, coral and sea horse. So fun! I colored everything a bit more boldly then usual with my Blends, and then {GASP} I cut them all out at once with my Scan-N-Cut - I'm such a rebel! Took about 2 minutes flat, and saved about an hour of fussy cutting, I think, lol. I love how it came out, especially after I threw on a few blue Riverside Pearls! Seaside Notions Stamp Set (retired 2021); Basic White, Crumb Cake & Petal Pink CS; Memento Tuxedo Black & Crumb Cake Inks; Calypso Coral, Crumb Cake, Pecan Pie, Soft Sea Foam & Lost Lagoon Blends Markers; Soft Waves & Seabed (retired) EFs; Hearts & Tasteful Labels Dies (both retired); Riverside Pearls; #TOC291. |
