Well, well, well! The Male Room #157 hit one of my favorite topics this month - FOOD! My mouth is already watering! I haven't used my Nothing's Better Than set in quite some time, let's have some cookies today! At least, the kind on my cards shouldn't go straight to my waistline, right? I used some remaining woodgrain scraps to make it boyish - the In Good Taste DSP pack just keeps on giving, lol. I had some fine making a little cookie pile, and I couldn't resist this manly stitched square to set everything off. Nom nom... Nothing's Better Than Stamp Set; In Good Taste DSP; Basic White & Early Espresso CS; Early Espresso & Crumb Cake Inks; Love You More Than & Stitched Shapes Dies (retired); Brushed Metallic Dots; #TMR157. Woo hoo! Time for another speed challenge this week at As You See It #265 - hope you can keep up with us! So first, a tiny little confession from me: I have been a little bit anti-snowflake the past couple of years, lol. We have new ones Every. Single. Year. So it's hard for me to get attached, lol - and I live in the desert! That said, there's a beauty in the Gingerbread dies, and I wondered if I could pull it off in Silver Glimmer! And I could part with one of my precious retired Feels Like Frost sheets, and use the gorgeous "Joy to the World" from 2019's Hearts Come Home! Let's grab a dryer sheet and give it a go, lol. Even with a dryer sheet, these silver lovelies took a full 5 minutes! Luckily, the rest of the card was a chop-and-plop! I took a minute or so to fiddle with the placements and barreled on through. Final time is 9 minutes, 5 seconds. A real close one, lol! I can't wait to see yours! Hearts Come Home Stamp Set (retired 2019); Feels Like Frost DSP; Basic White & Silver Glimmer CS; Night of Navy Ink; Gingerbread Dies; Adhesive-Backed Snowflakes; #AYSI265. RSVP now to save your spot! Class is on for Saturday, Dec 18, at 3 pm - see you there! Oo, what a great color challenge this week from Cardz 4 Guyz #285 - shades of brown! I couldn't resist keeping up with Christmas for this one, too - I Knew I had some great gingerbread sheets left in my Gingerbread & Peppermint DSP pack! And who could resist this pretty cookie?? If only I could decorate REAL cookies like this, lol. Anyway, I pulled in all the browns I could, and held myself to one tiny rhinestone on the cookie - but I think hubby would still eat it! Frosted Gingerbread Stamp Set; Gingerbread & Peppermint DSP; Basic White, Early Espresso & Crumb Cake CS; Early Espresso Ink; Gingerbread & Potted Succulents Dies; Faux Suede Trim; Rhinestone Basic Jewels; #C4G285. Very fun - we have an unusual chance at Less is More #457 this week - a "photo inspiration!" Pretty! I decided to tie up a "gift" for my card front, too! I cut a little chunk of Crumb Cake and embossed it with my pine needles folder from the Wintry duo - I did the envelope flap, too since I don't have any image stamping on this one. I added some nice Cherry Cobbler Baker's Twin for a nice robust "ribbon" treatment, and used this gorgeous sentiment from For Unto Us - the fonts are just dreamy! A few Wonderful Gems, and I'm done! For Unto Us Stamp Set; Basic White & Crumb Cake CS; Cherry Cobbler Ink; Wintry EF; Cherry Cobbler Baker's Twine; Wonderful Gems; #LIM457. We have a lovely landscape and banner sketch this week at Try Stampin' on Tuesday #536! Perfect for our next Christmas theme at SU Only #290, too! I think I can squeeze one last card out of this gorgeous blue pine sheet from the Beauty of the Earth pack. I used these papers all year long! I couldn't resist putting up this most loving admonishment for the season - the scripty font is just so lovely to me! I kept it all in blue, silver and white, to evoke that miraculous night, hopefully. God's peace, everyone, this season and always! For Unto Us Stamp Set; Beauty of the Earth DSP; Basic White CS; Misty Moonlight Ink; Tailor Made Tags Dies; Banner Pick a Punch & Merry Mini Star Punches; Misty Moonlight 1/4" Cotton Ribbon; White Baker's Twin; #TSOT536; SUOC290. Perfect - CAS on Friday #219 is running a "winter" challenge this week! I can't believe I haven't pulled out my beloved retired "Santa's Suit" set this year! This cutie is from 2017, and I STILL love seeing Santa's laundry, and him in his little Union suit, lol. And since I have a hard time separating Winter and Christmas... Anyway, I think this is after Santa is done for the night, and we just have clear Winter ahead, lol. Good night, Santa! Sleep well! Santa's Suit (retired 2017); Basic White CS; Memento Tuxedo Black, Real Red & Crumb Cake Inks; Pale Papaya Blend Marker (on the envelope); Rhinestone Basic Jewels; #CASOF219. I'm excited to try my hand at a new-to-me challenge today - this is Festive Friday #98! I get to pick at least 3 things from their inspiration list to feature - here goes! Looking over the list, I knew I could pick tinsel, I have an ancient roll of tinsel twine from who knows when, lol, and I think this locks me in to a Christmas theme (twist my arm, lol!) The list is inspired by Christmas Jumper Day (Dec 10!) and even though we don't really wear sweaters here in AZ (yeah, it's 85 degrees here today still, we still have our AC on!) I really wanted to give a nod to the day. Luckily, one of my cute doggies in the Sweet Stockings DSP has a sweater on! Yes! I'm adding red AND some tiny green details, too! Fun! Sweet Little Stockings Stamp Set; Sweet Stockings DSP; Basic White & Old Olive CS; Cherry Cobbler Ink; Tinsel Trim (retired); Old Olive Enamel Dots; #FF0098. For their final challenge of the year, Fusion has this pretty "gray-white Christmas" theme. Fun! Looking over the sketch, I first went hunting for some images I could do a cluster of and still look festive in Gray. Then I spotted the stockings in the inspiration pic - and straight to Tidings & Trimmings I went! There are actually two stockings in there, so I layered up a trio in all three of our grays, and floated everything over this beautiful woodgrain sheet from our upcoming Heart & Home DSP pack. Don't tell anyone, I actually don't care terribly for the colored sheets in this pack, BUT the back side of every sheet is a different woodgrain! Woot! Looks lovely here for my gray theme! Tidings & Trimmings Stamp Set; Heart & Home DSP; Basic White, Smoky Slate, Gray Granite & Basic Gray CS; Gray Granite, Smoky Slate & Basic Gray Inks; Christmas Trimmings Dies; Rhinestone Basic Jewels; #FusionGrayWhiteChristmas. Yay! The Sisterhood of Crafters would like to see something musical this week, and I have just the thing! I have been wanting to try out my new Merry Melody EF for a while now, so glad to finally have the perfect chance! I paired it up with this lovely sentiment from Christmas to Remember - every time I look at it, I hear Bing baby singing it out, lol! I floated everything over some Evening Evergreen, embossed my music sheet on Crumb Cake, and sponged it up a tiny bit with Soft Succulent. I used markers on my sentiment so I could do two colors, and tried out my holly leaves in Succulent/Evergreen today - so pretty! Time to put the carols on! Christmas to Remember & Christmas Season Stamp Sets; Basic White, Evening Evergreen & Crumb Cake CS; Soft Succulent, Evening Evergreen & Real Red Inks; Evening Evergreen & Real Red Stamp-n-Write Markers; Seasonal Labels Dies; Merry Melody EF; #TSOCMusic. Yay! So excited to see that Retro Rubber # 172 has a cute sketch for us this week! I'm SO in Christmas mode here still, lol I immediately went to my retired Christmas Shelf of Retirement - what has a likely image I can double up for the sketch? I quickly eyed Smitten Mittens from 2017 - how perfect! I can even fudge the sentiment a little, I think, lol. I decided to combine with some scraps from my Peaceful Prints DSP pack, leftover from our most recent SAB - cant get enough of this snowy plaid, and now the birch sheets are growing on me! I so love how this came out - hope I chose the right red, too, lol. Smitten Mittens Stamp Set (retired 2017); Peaceful Prints DSP; Basic White & Sahara Sand CS; Real Red Ink; Many Mittens Dies; Adhesive-Backed Snowflakes; #RRCB172. |
