I like this big open field on this week's Freshly Made Sketch #182 - I think it's time for a scripture card! Historical readers may already know this, but I only leave my Stampin' Up! Mother Ship for one company in stamps - Our Daily Bread, for their scripture sets. I just can't find anything else like them anywhere! This lovely verse is from a collection I'd been meaning to get for a while (and of course, NOT for this verse that I ended up using today, lol - so typical of me!) and was able to pick up during a recent sale. Yay! As always, this verse is a good and timely reminder for me... Our Daily Bread Scripture Collection 7; Something Borrowed DSP; Whisper White & Sahara Sand CS; Sahara Sand & Soft Suede Inks; Sahara Sand Lace Trim; Something Borrowed Embellishments.

I'm so excited about this super cute sketch at Nacho Average Challenge #137! I'm going to try to combine it with Sunday Stamps #99's inspiration challenge, too! So for the sketch, I knew I wanted to do something really different with the circle shapes. A quick browse got me to Just Sayin', which I matched in the colors from the inspiration challenge. I like how it came out! I added some tiny details, and of course, a big 'ole extra neutral, but hey, neutrals don't count, right? I'm sure there's some Crumb Cake in that picture somewhere, lol! Just Sayin' Stamp Set; Whisper White, Crumb Cake, Wisteria Wonder, Wild Wasabi & Pink Pirouette CS; Wisteria Wonder, Pink Pirouette & Wild Wasabi Inks; Word Bubbles Framelits; Happy Heart Embossing Folder; Bird Builder, Owl Builder & Itty Bitty Accents Flower Punches; Basic Jewel Pearls. This week's Merry Monday #154 is a cool one - vintage! I KNOW I'll have to visit the "Room of Retirement" for this one! The best I can come up with for a vintage image is Greeting Card Kids. I do love this little girl all bundled up, pulling her tree! I don't really do too much in the vintage style, so I kind of went crazy on the details here, trying to pull in everything I could think of that might work - so there may be a touch of over-embellish-itis going on here, lol... What can I say? It was fun to pull out all the toys! Post Card, Greeting Card Kids (retired), Greetings of the Season (retired), & Peaceful Wishes (retired) Stamp Sets; Very Vanilla, Brushed Gold, Always Artichoke & Cherry Cobbler CS; Encore Gold, Memento Tuxedo Black, Cherry Cobbler, Always Artichoke, Crushed Curry & Crumb Cake Inks; Flesh Tones Blendies; Dazzling Diamonds Glitter; Cherry Cobbler Embossing Powder; Circles Collection Framelits; Cherry Cobbler Seam Binding Ribbon. This week's Fab Friday #62 is upon us! Check out this elegant sketch! I think I'll try to create it under the Clean & Quick challenge this week at Can You Case It #65... I decided this week I wanted to feature a BIG sentiment, and one that jumps out at me often is this pretty and curvy one from the Hello Life stamp set. I love it! In the spirit of this thought, I also decided to go completely self-indulgent, lol: note the purple and green color combo, the fiddly fussy cutting, and the multi-sized bling. That's right folks, it's all about ME today! I can't wait to see YOUR Fab creations at the challenge this week - let's see it! Hello Life Stamp Set; Crumb Cake, Pear Pizzazz & Whisper White CS; Crumb Cake, Blackberry Bliss, Calypso Coral & Pear Pizzazz Inks; Early Espresso 7/8" Satin Ribbon; Subtles Button in Calypso Coral; 1/4" Cotton Ribbon in Pear Pizzazz; Basic Jewel Rhinestones & Jumbo Rhinestones (retired); Corner Rounder Punch. Back to the color grind (ha ha!) with this fresh challenge at SU-per Challenges #84! I'll be matching it with this week's Retro Sketch #160... So, these colors sent me in a baby direction, which sent me naturally to the Something for Baby stamp set. I wanted to use a stamp from there I hadn't used before - the baby buggy, and I still feel a little uncertain about my color choices for the various elements on this one, lol. Even so, I've wound up with a nice gender-neutral card - yay! Something for Baby & Bravo Stamp Sets; Afternoon Picnic DSP (retired); Whisper White, Pear Pizzazz, So Saffron & Wisteria Wonder CS; So Saffron, Pear Pizzazz, Wisteria Wonder & Memento Tuxedo Black Inks; Baby's First Framelits; Happy Heart & Decorative Dots Embossing Folders; Owl Builder Punch (for the tiny hearts); Ruffled Ribbon in Wisteria Wonder; Basic Jewel Rhinestones. Yay! Time for another round of My Pumpkin Challenge #0415 - Sew Pretty, Sew Simple! Let's try something REALLY different, shall we? So, I was cruising the Paper Pumpkin Pinterest Board, and a lot of ca-UTE samples have hit the Sew You page this week! I was so inspired! I decided to go Christmas! I was able to piece together "A Merry Little Wish For" to go with our lovely punched "You," and I did my stitching in green Perle cotton. I played with coloring in my card front stripes, too, though I think it looks a tad streaky. I dressed up the "O" in "You" by adding some whip stitching in red. Fun! This card is what my husband calls "gray on gray" for him - poor guy is red-green color blind, lol... I'm loving all the samples shared at My Pumpkin Challenge - keep up the great work! Paper Pumpkin - Sew You; plus, Festival of Trees Stamp Set; Whisper White & Real Red CS; Real Red & Old Olive Inks; Red & Green 5/2 Perle Cotton; Tree Punch; Brights Button in Old Olive. Whew, looks like it's color WEEK in challenge land, lol! Check out this retro combo over at Create With Connie & Mary #350! I thought I really stretched today - I very rarely do a color challenge without combining it with a sketch. I figured with so many color challenges running this week, I had to get over that! So I just played, and finally hit on coloring up this big fun stamp from Bravo with markers (Get it? The Stamp From Bravo, a new western coming to a theater near you! God, I crack myself up... Yeah, not THAT funny, I know!) Anyway, I left it pretty simple, and also finally realized it's kind of similar to yesterday's card in layout. Woops! Oh well, still fun! Bravo Stamp Set; Birthday Bash Specialty DSP; Whisper White, Crushed Curry & Calypso Coral CS; Night of Navy Crushed Curry & Calypso Coral Inks; 1/4 Grosgrain in Night of Navy (retired); Basic Jewel Rhinestone. LOVE this yummy color challenge at Just Add Ink #258! I think I'll try and cover take two of Clean & Simple #7, while I'm at it... Another set I actually don't use that often, weirdly, is Gorgeous Grunge. I would think that this would be a pretty go-to set for me - all those spatters and textures - so easy to add to just about any card front! But somehow, I seem to be forgetting to use it lately, grrr. But today is the day! I matched it up with this sweet little tag from SAB's You Brighten My Day, and just brought in a few more extras - so fun! Gorgeous Grunge & You Brighten My Day Stamp Sets; Blackberry Bliss, Melon Mambo & Whisper White CS; White Craft, Melon Mambo, Blackberry Bliss & Smoky Slate Inks; White Embossing Powder; Note Tag & Corner Rounder Punches; Blackberry Bliss Striped Satin Ribbon; White Baker's Twine; Blackberry Bliss Button (SAB); Smoky Slate Sequins from All Shook Up Paper Pumpkin. Lovin' that tilty panel at this week's Freshly Made Sketch #181! Think I'll match this up with this week's bright color challenge at Nacho Average Challenge #136! Now that we're approaching that nervous time of year (retirement lists come out April 21, sob), I am making more of an effort to ink up stamps that I pass over too often. Seeing how much I LOVE this one, I'm a bit embarrassed how little I use it. I love seeing bright paper lanterns setting off a fun evening! Turns out, Happy Congratulations is a great set for a color challenge, too - just make the globes the challenge colors, duh! Now, I also have to laugh at myself over this card, because I SAMJ'ed the heck out of this envelope - took more time than the card, lol... You can't even really see it in this pic! But hey, I love my Stamp-A-Ma-Jig, too! Happy Congratulations Stamp Set; Lullaby DSP; Whisper White, Bermuda Bay & Strawberry Slush CS; Memento Tuxedo Black, Strawberry Slush, Hello Honey & Bermuda Bay Inks; Brights Button in Bermuda Bay; Hello Honey Heavy Baker's Twine (split down); Bermuda Bay Baker's Twine; Banner Punch (for flagging the sentiment.) This week's Merry Monday #153 is to use an angel or cherub on your card. I love this theme, but I only have ONE stamp set with an angel, and it's retired. Too bad! My final card is such a simple outcome - you'd never know I had more layers, ribbons, folds - the works. I ripped this poor card apart so many times, trying to make it fancier than it needed to be, lol. In the end, I couldn't make myself do more than this finally, and I love it, just how it is. Rejoicing with You & Our Daily Bread Christmas Verses Stamp Sets; Lost Lagoon, Cherry Cobbler & Whisper White CS; Lost Lagoon Inks; Versamark; Cherry Cobbler Embossing Powder; Basic Jewels Jumbo Rhinestones (retired); Project Life Corner Rounder Punch. |
