So, looking at this week's Retro Sketch #104, I can see that I am not the only one enamored of banner shapes these days, lol! The Cuddles & Kisses stamp set has been sitting around un-inked on my desk for quite some time, now - I don't get much call for baby cards, but I do like to have a few on hand, so that was where I headed today. I still totally adore the images in the now retired Baby Bundle set, too - I might have to break down and upgrade to a current baby set next catalog! I tried to keep the color gender neutral - snuck in some So Saffron! Cuddles & Kisses, & Baby Bundle (retired) Stamp Sets; Sweet Sorbet DSP; Whisper White, Sahara Sand, Crisp Cantaloupe & So Saffron CS; Basic Black, So Saffron, Pistachio Pudding, Crisp Cantaloupe & Sahara Sand Inks; Dotted Scallop Ribbon Border, 5/8" Circle & Corner Rounder Punches; Banners Framelits; Large Delicate Doilies Sizzlet.

Uh-oh, this week's Merry Monday #98-Add Stitching & Buttons, looks like a hard one! I have buttons, but stitching? Don't do a lot of that on my cards! Time to pull out the stops... So, this is one of my fave Christmas sentiments, and I usually ink it up with markers, so I can put all different colors on there. This time, I decided to go with a nice heat-embossed solid. I love this color combo of natural, blue and white! I think it's a good match to the "country" theme! O Holy Night & Button, Button (retired-on envelope) Stamp Sets; Whisper White, Pool Party & Crumb Cake CS; Pool Party & Whisper White Craft Inks; Whisper White Embossing Powder; Linen Thread; Essentials Piercing Pack; Subtles Buttons. So, have you seen the new Paper Pumpkin kit In The Bag? So cute! It inspired this month's new theme at My Pumpkin Challenge #0314 - Fun With Circles & Bags! Now the timing for me is pretty awesome - I'm off next week to my sister's wedding, and I need a gift bag! So, I went pretty simple with this one, and only dressed up the stamp colors a bit... This sturdy bag will be perfect for the plane ride home she'll be facing, especially when she sees how well-stocked with goodies it is! Can't wait to see you run "circles" around me! Paper Pumpkin - In The Bag; Tangerine Tango & Smoky Slate Inks. Hah, just as I was sitting down to crank out a card for Clean & Simple #281, and starting to wonder what colors to use, along came In{k}spire Me #136, just in the nick of time! For some reason, I'm having a sweet tooth attack today, so I gravitated towards Sweets for the Sweet, lol. The shapes were perfect for this fun layout - mmm, candy... Sweets for the Sweet & Banner Greetings Stamp Sets; Whisper White, Pool Party & Pink Pirouette CS; Pool Party, Pink Pirouette & Strawberry Slush Inks; Print Poetry DSP Stack (retired); Strawberry Slush Stretch Ruffle Trim; Whisper White 1/4" Grosgrain; Banners Framelits Dies; 1" Circle Punch; Subtles Candy Dots. What better way to play hooky on a rare raining day in AZ than by combining two bright and cheery challenges? Freshly Made Sketches #125 and Fab Friday #36 fit that bill perfectly! Of course, I'm sure it won't be raining by the time I post this, lol... So, I think this color challenge is inspired by a DSP that I, uh, didn't get, {blush}, but hey, that's just a chance to make your OWN patterned paper, right? I love to do that, especially with floral outlines, so out came Secret Garden! And since I can not tell a lie, I have to say this card was heavily inspired by Cindy Hall from Freshly Made's design team - I adored what she did with the ruffle ribbon on her card, and totally had to try it! Secret Garden & Another Thank You stamp sets; Whisper White & Basic Black CS; Basic Black, Bermuda Bay, Crushed Curry & Strawberry Slush Inks; Secret Garden Framelits; Vine Street Embossing Folder; Strawberry Slush Stretch Ruffle Trim; Corner Rounder Punch. Well, I've been looking and looking at this week's Sunday Stamps #70, and today was finally the day! While I mulled over color, I realized I had a new color challenge from Nacho Average Challenge #78 to play with, too - and it's a toughie! I HAD to combine these two babies! So, the immediate problem was that I didn't have any DSP in the challenge colors, except for some Smoky Slate, so I knew I needed to create my "custom" paper. So that took me to the background stamps, and this Chevron just jumped right off the shelf! I figured I could play with turning the pattern in different directions... Chevron made me think sharp angles, which led to starbursts, and well, that was all she wrote! Love it! Positively Chevron & Starburst Sayings Stamp Sets; Whisper White & Pear Pizzazz CS; Pear Pizzazz, Smoky Slate & Primrose Petals Inks; Starburst Framelits Dies; Pear Pizzazz Seam Binding Ribbon; Sticky Strip; Tiny Circle Punch. |
