Lol, we have ANOTHER "love is in the air" theme going - this time at Shopping Our Stash #489! I went for a classic Valentine this time, lol, and couldn't resist pulling in my still-favorite heart from 2012's PS I Love You - so much cuteness in this set! I did a stamped-all-over background first in some Val-Day colors, then popped up a Real Red one with my sentiment. So glad I still have both these punches, too, lol. I finished with a few Resin Hearts that have been around for who knows HOW long! PS I Love You Stamp Set (retired 2012); Basic White & Basic Black CS; Real Red, Flirty Flamingo, Polished Pink, Petal Pink & Memento Tuxedo Black Inks; Full Heart & Modern Label Punches (both retired); Resin Heart Embellishments (retired); #SOS489. We have a lovely landscape layout for you all this week at Hand Stamped Sentiments #407! I couldn't resist breaking in my Playing in the Rain suite for this one - there's such a gorgeous flowery field sheet in the Rain or Shine DSP that goes with it! I tried to cut a strategic strip, so we got a bit of flowers AND a bit of sky, and I decided this capering bunny was the best match for this awesome sentiment. Who DOESN'T start singing the hymn in their mind when they see it?? Lol. I can't wait to see YOUR creations with our fun sketch this round - meet you at the challenge! Playing in the Rain Stamp Set; Rain or Shine DSP; Basic White, Basic Black & Mango Melody CS; Memento Tuxedo Black Ink; Balmy Blue, Crumb Cake & Flirty Flamingo Blends Markers; Playing in the Rain & Layering Circles Dies; Loose Daisy Embellishments; #HSS407. Just in case, I decided to check my stack of new sets for any "love" sentiments - turns out, there's an awesome one in the Picturesque set! So excited to break this one in, lol. I decided to set up a background with another sheet of Enjoy the Journey DSP, since it's still on my desk from yesterday! Next I cut a stamping layer using the Deckled Rectangle dies and set up my basic scene. Can't wait to play with this in other colors, too! I decided to fussy cut the top layer so I could add more dimension, and I set up my sentiment in a little custom Deckle box. Looking over a vista like this would definitely bring love to mind for me! Picturesque Stamp Set; Enjoy the Journey DSP; Basic White CS; Soft Sea Foam, Pear Pizzazz, Pool Party & Soft Suede Inks; Deckled Rectangles Dies; Rustic Metallic Dots; #MMM193. I couldn't resist inking up another new set today for this one, lol. I HAD to have the lantern die, so of course I went ahead and got the whole Lighting the Way bundle! So fun! I did a starry night background courtesy of the Enjoy the Journey DSP pack, and centered a brass lantern over a Stylish circle, with some greenery and fireflies. So cute! I even had enough juice in my Gold Wink of Stella pen to doctor up some wings a tiny bit, and I finished with a few Iridescent Gold Gems. I can't wait to see YOUR takes on our fun sketch - meet you at the challenge! Lighting the Way Stamp Set; Enjoy the Journey DSP; Basic White, Mango Melody & Brass Foil CS; Memento Tuxedo Black, Granny Apple Green & Mango Melody Inks; Mango Melody Blend Marker; Gold Wink of Stella; Lighting the Way & Stylish Shapes Dies; Iridescent Pastel Gems; #SSC302. I happen to have a new EF burning a hole on my desk right now - I HAVE to use my new Legendary Ride suite today! I decided to do a layered "border" for this one, and left a nice wide margin for my new Metal Plate EF. I did that layer in our retired Galvanized Metallic paper - love the look with my nice "chopper," lol. I added a panel of the very cool DSP, with a band of the reverse side that I also used on the envelope. I popped up my bike and sentiment, and threw on some flames at the end - I even squeezed on some "stud" embellies. Very manly, indeed, lol. Legendary Ride Stamp Set; Ready to Ride DSP; Vary Vanilla & Galvanized Metallic (retired) CS; Memento Tuxedo Black & Pumpkin Pie Inks; Legendary Ride Dies; Metal Plate EF; Adhesive Backed Studs; #CYHTPBorders. Class is announced for Saturday, February 11 at 2 pm! RSVP today to save your spot! So fun - Cardz 4 Guyz #314 has a "pets" theme this round - I'm on it! I have a quite a few current critter sets to choose from, but after a quick review, I wasn't sure how many were prime "pet" material, lol. I know there are pet pigs and hedgies out there, but just in case, I checked the Shelves of Retirement! I quickly came across 2019's Hey Love set (which I got for the gorilla, lol) and realized I don't think I've ever stamped that little hamster! Say it isn't so! So he had to come out for this one, and I chose a cute "luv ya" from my newly arrived Conversation Bubbles bundle - perfect for each other! Hey Love (retired 2019) & Conversation Bubbles Stamp Sets; Dandy Designs DSP; Basic White & Coastal Cabana CS; Coastal Cabana & Memento Tuxedo Black Inks; Pool Party, Crumb Cake, Real Red & Flirty Flamingo Blends Markers; Stylish Shapes & Conversation Bubbles Dies; Resin Heart Embellishments (retired); #C4G314. I am SUPER jazzed about Cupcake Inspirations #561 - polka dots are my favorite design element! Today happened to be a day I could dabble in my newly arrived box of goodies, too, so I checked that first to see if I had any likely dotty sets to ink up! Turns out, our new Silly Goose set shows an fashion-forward lady floating on a polka dot floatie! Perfect! I floated her over a gorgeous dotty background from the glorious Dandy Designs pack, and added some simple coordinating coloring with my Blends Markers. A few Glossy Dots finish things off - they look kinda like a water splash! Silly Goose Stamp Set; Dandy Designs DSP; Basic White & Night of Navy CS; Memento Tuxedo Black Ink; Balmy Blue, Granny Apple Green, Mango Melody & Crumb Cake Blends Markers; Stylish Shapes Dies; Glossy Dots; #CIC561. It must be the first of the month, because it's time for a new Christmas challenge! We at Sparkles Christmas Challenge #145 would like to see some non-traditional colors on your cards this round! When I think non-traditional colors for Christmas, I think BRIGHT, lol. I love putting the shockers out there, and usually using traditional holiday images, like this fluorescent trio of candy canes! I used our just-retired Sweet Candy Canes set to make some In Color beauties, and floated them all over a sparkly panel of Orchid Oasis - I'll have to get my shades out, lol. I finished with a few Frosted Droplets I found to add some points of light - simple and quick! I can't wait to see YOUR non-traditional color projects this month - meet you at the challenge! Sweet Candy Canes Stamp Set (retired 2022); Basic White & Orchid Oasis Glimmer CS; Tahitian Tide, Polished Pink, Parakeet Party & Orchid Oasis Inks; Candy Cane Dies; Frosted Droplets; #SCC145. |
