OK, we're going straight for the big one - Cardz 4 Guyz #315 wants a Valentine for a guy! So, I'm all done with pink and red for this year, lol. So let's try carrots instead! I so love our Sale-a-Bration set, Thanks a Bunch, so much! We just don't have anything else like it, and it's so FUN! I decided it was perfect for a bit of vegetable love, lol. I built three grand carrots with Mango Melody and Pumpkin Pie, and gave them some Granny Apple Green leaves. A Granny Apple love banner was perfect across the bottom, and I finished with a few of the lighter Old Olive Matte Decorative Dots - just right! This so makes me giggle! Thanks a Bunch Stamp Set; Pumpkin Pie DSP; Basic White & Granny Apple Green CS; Mango Melody, Pumpkin Pie & Granny Apple Green Inks; Deckled Rectangles Dies; Old Olive Matte Decorative Dots; #C4G315. I'm super excited by AAA Birthday #46's challenge to use stencils this round - fun! I grabbed my pack of Artistic Mix Decorative Masks, and looked them over for ideas first. Looks like these are more layering masks - cool! I picked some that I liked, and decided for a sort of freeform blob of stenciling, light enough that I could stamp a birthday sentiment right over it... Let's go purple today! Yum! I started with a base chevron layer in Fresh Freesia, with details picked out in Gorgeous Grape. I stamped this big gorgeous sentiment from Framed Florets over all that in Blackberry Bliss - now THAT'S purple! Lol. It was a huge bonus when I realized that two of my purples are in the new Opaque Adhesive Backed Gems, and I haven't even used them yet! Done! Framed Florets Stamp Set; Basic White & Gorgeous Grape CS; Fresh Freesia, Gorgeous Grape & Blackberry Bliss Inks; Artistic Mix Decorative Masks; Blending Brush; Fresh Freesia & Gorgeous Grape Opaque Gems; #AAAB46. Ahh, another chance to show something new that's been lurking too long on my desk - thank goodness for NBUS #47! Turns out, I had QUITE the collection of new stuff on the desk, lol. First off, I totally forgot that I earned the Sale-a-Bration hostess set, Scenic Garden, lol. Oops! I actually wasn't very interested in this one - I rarely get sets that don't have both images AND sentiments. BUT, I also had a new sentiment-only set to add in - Something Fancy, which has a completely awesome set of dies, too - yay for new label dies! Lastly, I had a chance to pre-order some items from our fast-approaching Online Exclusive promotion, and I snagged this set of three Basics 3D Embossing Folders - I used one for my background layer, and I love it! This is a lot of NBUS, lol... Scenic Garden & Something Fancy Stamp Sets; Basic White, Pear Pizzazz & Pool Party CS; Memento Tuxedo Black Ink; Mossy Meadow, Crumb Cake, Daffodil Delight & Flirty Flamingo Blends Markers; Something Fancy & Deckled Rectangles Dies; Basics 3D EF #3; Brushed Brass Butterflies; #NBUS47. If You Give a Crafter a Cookie #177 is continuing their color challenge this month with ORANGE! Sweet! I decided to try out my Dainty Delight set for this one. I have to admit, I only got this set because it has that gorgeous coordinating Sale-a-Bration DSP, lol - how can I resist cool freebies?? Anyway, since I'm supposed to be all orange today, I turned instead to the Rain or Shine DSP pack, which has Mango Melody for its "orange!" Yum! I pulled this speckled background for my base, and then colored up two different gorgeous stems with my Blends Markers - I used Pumpkin Pie on the flowers themselves to make it pop a little from the background. I finished with a few orange details - so thirsty now! Dainty Delight Stamp Set; Rain or Shine DSP; Basic White & Mango Melody CS; Memento Tuxedo Black Ink; Old Olive, Pumpkin Pie & Daffodil Delight Blends Markers; Dainty Delight & Stylish Shapes Dies; Pumpkin Pie Twine; Iridescent Pastel Gems (really Calypso Coral, but they read orange on this card to me, lol); #Cookie177. Check out our gorgeous stripey sketch for you this week at Retro Rubber #200! Looking over this sketch, I decided to start with the papers, lol. And since this is for my beloved Retro, I browsed through my retired stash to pick something! As soon as I spotted my old Bubble & Fizz pack, I realized I haven't had the Bubble Over Stamp Set out in TOO long! Let's just take care of that right now! I picked through my loose scarps in the pack and came up with this combo, and even found a couple of loose bottles cut from another sheet to use. I added some stamped details to the bottle because I didn't feel like the sentiment was enough stamping, lol. So cute, and I finished with my Polished Pink Opal Rounds as pretty close to the pink in the DSP! I can't wait to see YOUR sketch projects for this one - meet you at the challenge! Bubble Over Stamp Set (retired 2019); Bubbles & Fizz DSP (retired); Basic White, Basic Gray, Lemon Lime Twist (retired) & Silver Foil CS; Memento Tuxedo Black, Lemon Lime Twist, Bermuda Bay & Daffodil Delight Inks; Bottles & Bubbles Dies (retired); Calypso Coral Linen Thread; Polished Pink Opal Rounds; #RRCB200. Yummy - AAA #233 is back with a new CAS challenge for us - this time in teal and gold! I quickly settled on the lovely Ginkgo Branch set to play with today - with stamps I could overlay with gorgeous dies, It seemed a natural fit for this challenge! I started with some falling ginkgo leaves in Bermuda Bay, and laid over two of the smaller detailed die - so pretty! I stamped my sentiment in Bermuda also, and then cut it out with the pretty window die in the set, shortening one end by nipping off a bite in a second pass on my Big Shot - I love to custom size banner dies! I tousled some delicate gold thread behind the sentiment, and finished with a few gold Wonderful Gems - still CAS enough, I hope! Ginkgo Branch Stamp Set; Basic White, Bermuda Bay & Gold Foil CS; Bermuda Bay Ink; Ginkgo Branch Dies; Gold Thread; Wonderful Gems; #AAA233. Lol, very fun - Festive Friday #127 is having a Galentine's Day inspo! Woo hoo! Such a cute collection of prompts this round - it was hard to choose! I don't actually have any sentiments for "Galentine's," so I decided on a floral birthday card, and squeezed in some shiny while I was at it, lol. I went hunting through my retired DSP stash for some kind of green wash for my background and came across this gold-veined sheet in the Expressions in Ink pack - perfect! Such a bold green needed bold flowers, so I did up two of each color in Polished Pink and Rich Razzleberry - the combo is pretty eye-popping to me, lol. I did a simple sentiment over the center, and finished with some Gilded Gems - more shiny! So I managed to hit pink, purple, flowers, and something shiny. Happy Galentines! Art Gallery Stamp Set; Expressions in Ink DSP (retired); Basic White CS; Polished Pink, Rich Razzleberry & Memento Tuxedo Black Inks; Floral Gallery Dies; Gilded Gems; #FF0127. So pretty - Time Out Challenges #231 has an awesome inspiration pic for us! I wasn't up for sponging today, so I started looking for something new I could stamp in a rainbow. I kept going back to the super sweet Lovely You set - such cute little botanical stamps, AND an awesome collection of sentiments that I don't use NEARLY enough! Sold, lol! I finally settled on this little leaf trio, and stamped a little rainbow of falling leaves along one edge. Then I had to pick a sentiment, sigh. I finally settled on "just because" - so this card could be for anything! I finished with a few sparkly Iridescent Rhinestones to catch some light. Such a cutie! Lovely You Stamp Set; Basic White CS; Memento Tuxedo Black, Poppy Parade, Mango Melody, Daffodil Delight, Granny Apple Green, Bermuda Bay & Gorgeous Grape Inks; Iridescent Rhinestones Basic Jewels; #TOC231. Lol, we want to know your favorite thing about Spring this week at As You See It #292! For me, my favorite thing about Spring is the return of all the little birds! They are SO busy this time of year here in Arizona! We have several feeders for different kinds, and a nice bath, too. Our biggest appearance this year was gold finches - I've never seen so many here! The Western Goldfinches are a little less bright than the ones I used to see in Virginia, but still definitely yellow, lol. They are very engaged, too, they sit close by and whistle to each other and to me, and they seem pretty pleased with their feeder - a new one for us this Spring! They keep bringing new friends, lol. I can't wait to see YOUR Spring dreams for this round - meet you at the challenge! Free As a Bird Stamp Set (retired 2022); Bird Ballad DSP; Retired; Basic White CS; Memento Tuxedo Black Ink; Crumb Cake, Old Olive & So Saffron Blends Markers; Deckled Rectangles Dies; Solid Faceted Gems; #AYSI292. Our new Seaside Bay suite is PERFECT for showcasing some nature - and the best kind, too - by the sea! I started with a lovely brushstroke DSP background from the By the Bay pack. I doctored it up a little with some of the sandy speckle stamps - one has the tiny shells you see! And there's a die for them! So I popped them up, naturally, and set this curious sand piper on the other side, lol. I did some sea grasses behind her as well, from a different DSP sheet, though it blends in really well... Seaside Bay Stamp Set; By the Bay DSP; Basic White & Crumb Cake CS; Crumb Cake & Early Espresso Inks; Blender Pen; Seaside Bay & Ornate Frames (retired) Dies; Rustic Metallic Dots; #TMR171.
