We have a pretty and wispy sketch from Paper Craft Crew #280 this week, and I'm adding in Color Throwdown #480, too! I know this was a great chance to do a sweet butterfly, but then I spotted my Beautiful Bouquet set, and couldn't remember last time I used it - gotta fix that! I quickly created a sweet little collection of flowers over the die-cut stems - not sure which I like more about this set - the stamps or the dies, lol. This bundle really has it all - gorgeous botanicals, robust sentiments AND framelits! That checks all MY boxes, baby! I even added in a little more stencilling - I had so much fun with that yesterday for Merry Monday that I had to keep going! Beautiful Bouquet Stamp Set; Whisper White, Smoky Slate & Wild Wasabi CS; Memento Tuxedo Black, Smoky Slate, Wild Wasabi & Wisteria Wonder Inks; Bouquet Bunch Framelits; Pattern Party Decorative Masks; Wild Wasabi Enamel Shapes; #PCC280; #CTD480.

Merry Monday #277 has a fun challenge for us this week - use a stencil! I think I'll try to tackle this one with a little help from Freshly Made Sketch #324! Boy, did I have fun digging through my little stack of stencils through the ages! I thought at first I'd do a fancy one in pretty classic Christmas colors, but I kept coming back to my very first stencil set - Dots & Stripes Decorative Masks. I don't really know why I love dots so much - really - but they're just SO HAPPY, I can never resist! So, I kept my classic colors of Real Red, Old Olive and Crumb Cake, and just went to town, lol. So simple and so cute, what can I say. A couple dotty scraps of DSP completes the sketch - Merry Dots to you and yours! Ready for Christmas Stamp Set; 2010-13 Old Olive & Real Red DSP Stack Scraps (retired); Crumb Cake, Old Olive, Whisper White & Real Red CS; Real Red, Old Olive, Crumb Cake & Memento Tuxedo Black Inks; Dots & Stripes Decorative Masks (retired); Layering Circles Framelits; Gold Enamel Shapes; #MM277; #FMS324. Woo hoo! For the second week in a row, I get to play at What Will You Stamp #155 - this time with Picture Perfect Birthday! I think these bright colors from Global Design Project #125 will be great for it, too! As I was looking over my stamp set, I realized that I had three little rectangle shapes grouped together, and I started wondering what would happen if I stamped them as a block. I could even slip in the shorter Happy Birthday, and keep the solid rectangle for stamped off blocks to go on after. Would it work? Yes, of course! I swear, I only had to try my grid twice (butter fingers dropped a Melon Mambo disaster all over the place right when I was on the last block the first time 'round, lol) but the second try went fast and smooth (almost Olympian, one might say!) With all that business in the background I floated a simple circle over it all - so happy with it! Picture Perfect Birthday Stamp Set; Whisper White & Dapper Denim CS; Dapper Denim, Daffodil Delight & Melon Mambo Inks; Stitched Shapes Framelits; Melon Mambo & Daffodil Delight Enamel Shapes; #WWYS155; #GDP125. Yay - time for another Fab Friday - #131, that is - gettin' sketchy! I'm adding in this awesome color challenge from Paper Players #380, too - red and crumb cake is one of my fave combos! So, the fun new man set Truly Tailored has been sitting on my desk waiting for some ink for a bit, now - time to break that bad boy in! The set bundles with the Tailored Tag punch, too, and for today's card, in addition to my punched out tag sentiment, I also built that snazzy bow tie with it, too. Sharp, indeed, baby! See you over at the challenge - can't wait to see YOUR designs! Truly Tailored Stamp Set; Candy Cane Lane (retired) & Tutti Frutti DSPs; Crumb Cake & Whisper White CS; Real Red Ink; White Gel Pen; Banner Triple & Tailored Tag Punches; True Gentleman Button; White Baker's Twine; Pinewood Planks DEF; #FabFri131; #PP380. Love this centralized sketch from TGIF #146 - it'll be perfect for my "walk down memory lane" for As You See It #169! For today's combo, I started with my memory walk - and the very first tool I ever got was my Marker Spritzer - and man-oh-man was I into spritzing, lol! So fun to put just that right touch of speckle everywhere - I couldn't let a piece of cardstock get away unscathed at one point, lol. So it seemed like a good time to try for a more restrained spritz background for my Lots of Lavender sale-a-bration set. I think I managed to control myself better today! Lots of Lavender & Beautiful Bouquet Stamp Sets; Whisper White & Perfect Plum CS; Memento Tuxedo Black, Perfect Plum & Pear Pizzazz Inks; Perfect Plum & Pear Pizzazz Markers; Layering Ovals Framelits; Silver Cording Trim; Spritzer Tool; #TGIF146; #AYSI169. Love this bristle-y sketch from Case This Sketch #258 - I have to think of something super fun for it! So, when I went hunting for a likely "spikey" set, I came across Butterfly Basics, which I haven't used in FOREVER! I have always loved this big fern frond, so many fun ways to use it! I masked off the bottom portion of my sketch to more closely approximate the sketch, and then did a little stamping in two greens, Pear Pizzazz and Wild Wasabi, which I also rarely use, lol. All that green cried out for some purple, in my mind anyway, so out came Fresh Fig for a couple closing details. Love it! Butterfly Basics Stamp Set; Whisper White & Sahara Sand CS; Crumb Cake, Pear Pizzazz, Wild Wasabi & Fresh Fig Inks; Bitty Butterfly (retired) & Banner Triple Punches; Basic Jewel Pearls; Rich Razzleberry Enamel Shapes; #CTS258. We have some lovely layered elements at this week's Match the Sketch #215! I'll be combining it with this gorgeous inspiration pic from Just Add Ink #395 - reminds me of cherry blossoms back East! So cherry blossom reminders means we have to pull out my beloved Sheltering Tree, of course! I put together my little "loving tree," and then I realized for the FIRST TIME in all the time I've had this set how perfect the "you warm my heart" sentiment is for Valentines. Sheesh. I swear, I are a SU! demo. Really I am, lol. And just like that, the hearts keep creeping in! Shhh, don't tell anyone about my girlie streak going on, lol... Sheltering Tree & Weather Together Stamp Sets; Whisper White, Crumb Cake, Pink Pirouette & Flirty Flamingo CS; Early Espresso, Crumb Cake, Pink Pirouette & Flirty Flamingo Inks; Love Notes (retired) and Sweet & Sassy Framelits; #MTS215; #JAI395. Check out this cool sketch from Freshly Made Sketch #323! Very heraldic! Let's try it in these fun colors from Color Throwdown #479! I decided to veer away a bit from the Valentine thing - these are good colors for other stuff, too, I swear, lol... As a not- random example, balloons for example! I focused on the red and gray, and added just a splash of pink at the end - pretty pink fly-away balloon! I still love this Balloon Celebration set, obviously. I also slipped a white strip behind my big die-cut "celebrate" - this was a fun way to add a little dimension, too! Whew! Another pink escape, by the skin of my teeth! Balloon Celebration Stamp Set; Basic Gray Stack (retired) & Tutti Frutti DSPs; Whisper White & Basic Black CS; Memento Tuxedo Black & Flirty Flamingo Inks; Celebrate You Thinlits; Balloon Bouquet Punch; Flirty Flamingo Enamel Shapes; #FMS323; #CTD479. Woo hoo! It's Sunday Stamps Challenge #172 time! Check out our awesome sketch! This one was the perfect chance for me to debut my new-to-me Artistically Asian set - so pretty! Turns out, though it also has beautiful botanicals in it, that it goes perfectly with our Petal Passion DSP, too. I had some fun trying to incorporate the set's chrysanthemum, but decided that simplicity was the theme of the day in the end, lol. A few splashes of red and I was set - I think this will make a sweet, more personal, sympathy card... Can't wait to see your ideas over at the challenge - see you there! Artistically Asian Stamp Set; Petal Passion DSP; Whisper White, Real Red & Basic Black CS; Memento Tuxedo Black Ink; Layering Circles Framelits; 1/8" Black Taffeta Ribbon; #SSC172. Oo, Try Stampin' on Tuesday is trying out their first color challenge! Think I'll try it, and combine it with their February Technique Challenge of sponging while I'm at it! Boy, I had a tough time figuring out how I wanted to incorporate the technique today, lol. I think I'm maybe not an avid sponger! I finally settled on some candy colored halos for my second favorite Party Hat Panda, then I gave each of these guys a little color treatment on their hats. A few Iridescent Sequins came next, and I felt like that kinda added a "bubble" effect, hence the post name, lol. These guys can float my way anytime! Party Pandas Stamp Set; Whisper White, Flirty Flamingo, Soft Sky & Bermuda Bay CS; Memento Tuxedo Black, Bermuda Bay, Flirty Flamingo & Soft Sky Inks; Soft Sky, Bermuda Bay & Flirty Flamingo Markers; Layering Circles Framelits; Iridescent Sequins; #TSOT-CC1; TSOT-FebTech |
