What a clean and simple sketch over at Sunday Stamps #108 this week! And I have Nacho Average #156's color challenge to add in, too! I started today with the stamp set - I haven't been doing so many scripture cards lately, what's up with that? I still love our still available Banner Blessings set, too, so out it came, lol. With this color scheme I had a hard time picking one, but then I realized how many honey buttons (oo, cute phrase!) I still had from the In Color Sale-A-Bration buttons - I think I haven't used ANY! I figured they could be like my little stars - yay! Banner Blessings Stamp Set; Lullaby & Birthday Bash DSP (both retired); Heavy & Regular Whisper White, and Blackberry Bliss CS; Bermuda Bay & Blackberry Bliss Inks; Blackberry Bliss Striped Satin Ribbon; Sale-A-Bration In Color Buttons in Hello Honey; Basic Jewel Rhinestones. Now this week's Freshly Made Sketch #199 is awesome to work with! Big wide open space for doing ANYTHING! Gonna have to do something fun in the color challenge from Nacho Average Challenge #154, too! So, it turns out that I found these colors VERY challenging, lol. I finally landed on making my own "DSP" of sorts, that I could stamp this scripture from Hebrews over. I ended up throwing lots of Melon Mambo candy dots in for that color - apparently I don't use it much since I had three sheets that ONLY had this color on it, lol. Maybe I should have put them on the envelope, too! Vintage Leaves & Our Daily Bread Scripture Collection 7 Stamp Sets; Mint Macaron, Blushing Bride & Whisper White CS; Mint Macaron, Blushing Bride & Memento Tuxedo Black Inks; Pretty Print Embossing Folder; Banner Triple Punch on the Blushing Bride Scrap; Brights Candy Dots in Melon Mambo. I like this big open field on this week's Freshly Made Sketch #182 - I think it's time for a scripture card! Historical readers may already know this, but I only leave my Stampin' Up! Mother Ship for one company in stamps - Our Daily Bread, for their scripture sets. I just can't find anything else like them anywhere! This lovely verse is from a collection I'd been meaning to get for a while (and of course, NOT for this verse that I ended up using today, lol - so typical of me!) and was able to pick up during a recent sale. Yay! As always, this verse is a good and timely reminder for me... Our Daily Bread Scripture Collection 7; Something Borrowed DSP; Whisper White & Sahara Sand CS; Sahara Sand & Soft Suede Inks; Sahara Sand Lace Trim; Something Borrowed Embellishments. I really like how this week's In{k}spire Me #189 looks like a wrapped gift! Totally have to combine this one with this week's festive color challenge at Create With Connie & Mary #346! I thought at first that I would totally go in a St. Pat's direction with this one, but, well, Easter is coming up fast, and I'm already thinking of that joyous time! It occurred to me that these are spring-y and grow-y colors, which put me in mind of our fabulous set Indescribable Gift. Then I thought about how I could color up my own DSP with the yummy Irresistibly Yours DSP, too, and it just all came together. I think I'll make a few of these to send out to all my dear ones! Blessed by God & Indescribable Gift Stamp Sets; Irresistibly Yours Specialty DSP; Whisper White, Basic Black & Sahara Sand CS; Memento Tuxedo Black, Wild Wasabi & Sahara Sand Inks; Squares Collection Framelits; 1 3/8" Square Punch; Flower Trim; Little leaves Sizzlet (retired-stencil on envelope.) I really love the layered shapes at this week's In{k}spire Me #185! I think I'll try rendering it in Create With Connie & Mary #342's cool and lovely color challenge. Let's start with the understanding that I seem unable to stick with the circles in the sketch, lol. They're "more like guidelines," right? Browsing the stamp shelves, I was embarrassed to realize that the fun Four Feathers stamp set, which I just had to have partly because it has framelits (awesome!) has hardly ever seen ink - don't you hate that when that happens to you? Because we all know it happens to everyone, lol. Anyway, all I needed to do was find a sentiment to go with, and of course, there was another not-enough-used set for that, too. Sigh. Hopefully I can stave off a visit from the Equal Stamp Rights Coalition just a tad longer... Four Feathers & Blessed by God Stamp Sets; Sahara Sand, Hello Honey, Whisper White & Basic Black CS; Sahara Sand, Hello Honey & Memento Tuxedo Black Inks; Striped Satin Ribbon in Hello Honey; Feathers Framelits. Goodness, check out the wide open field of play in this week's Sunday Sketch Challenge #94! I feel a big scripture card coming on, with all that room... I finally have room for this John 14 quote - yay! Still feeling purple and green, too, so I had some fun with some scraps from the Color Me Autumn DSP pack. I figured since I was going off the reservation with my stamp, I'd go fro broke and bring in a rogue button, too - I so wish we made all the In Colors in all the usual embellishments, too! Our Daily Bread Scripture Collection 2 Stamp Set; Crumb Cake, Mossy Meadow & Whisper White CS; Color Me Autumn DSP; Crumb Cake & Blackberry Bliss Ink; Dark Purple Button; Linen Thread; Project Life Corner Rounder Punch. Birthday Card Class Feb 12 or 14! Yay! We made the Perpetual Birthday Calendar, now it's time for the cards to go with! This month's class will feature six different simple and quick birthday cards for everyone on your list - and they'll be sure to impress your recipients, too! (Here's a quick look at three of them to get you excited!) We'll be getting a closer look at more of the lovely options in our Spring Catalog - I can't wait for you to try all the new toys! Class is announced for Thursday, February 12 at 630 pm, or Saturday, February 14 at 330 pm, and as always, will feature a gift, snacks and drinks! RSVP now for your spot today! Yay! Another fun sketch over at Can You Case It #51! Looks like a clear call to bring in the embellies, too! The very first thing I had to do was play with the shapes, of course. It's been a while since I visited with my Banner Blessings set - decided to try one I haven't inked up yet, and throw in some pretty Valentine-esque details, lol. The color combo in this new DSP Stack, Stacked With Love, is really starting to grow on me, though I did sneak in a heavy dose of Strawberry Slush... I think it works surprisingly well! Banner Blessings Stamp Set; Stacked With Love DSP; Strawberry Slush, Crisp Cantaloupe, Basic Black & Whisper hite CS; Memento Tuxedo Black & Strawberry Slush Inks; Hearts Framelits; In Color Boutique Details Embellishments; Stretch Ruffle Trim in Strawberry Slush. Perpetual Birthday Calendar Kit Class! I'm so excited to announce our first class of the year - a super-fun version of the Perpetual Calendar Kit found on page 17 of your Occasions 2015 catalog! This calendar features a custom decorated and lined sheet for each month, where you can pencil in all your birthday ticklers! I've added some simple goodies and tricks to make these kits shine even more, and you'll have lots of leftovers from the kit as well! Keep it for yourself, or box it up for a gift! A fun way to warm up for the year ahead! So, class is announced for Thursday, January 15 at 6:30 pm, or Saturday, January 17 at 3:30 pm. $20 gets you all your supplies, including 1 complete kit, a special treat from me, and snacks and refreshments. RSVP now so I can make sure to have your kit waiting for you! Oo, Freshly Made Sketch #166 looks just right for keeping on playing with my new Banner Greetings set! Yay! Shall we go bright and bold today? I love the colors in our Sweet Taffy DSP - something for everyone, and so cheery! I think this will be another pack I use every single scrap of! I'm loving fussy-cutting the tiny banners in this stamp set as well - it really lets me provide some contrast to the whole image. Today I was generous with the dimensionals to really bring that out - and of course, I quickly slipped back into my fave color stand-by of green and purple, lol. A friend loves at all times, especially when there's green and purple, right? Banner Blessings Stamp Set; Whisper White & Old Olive CS; Sweet Taffy DSP; Rich Razzleberry & Old Olive Inks; Scallop Border Trim Punch (retired); Old Olive Baker's Twine; Brights Buttons in Old Olive & Rich Razzleberry. This week's Nacho Average Challenge #119 seems a natural to pair with Fab Friday #56's color challenge. All the elements seem to add up in the right numbers! My understanding is that this color challenge is inspired by the lovely Watercolor Winter Simply Created Card Kit - I came close to getting it, I admit. But I figured I should pass on a kit since I pretty much got every other Christmas set there was, lol. So playing with these colors has been fun - I don't think I would have ever pulled them all together otherwise! And the sketch gave me the perfect canvas to ink up the finally arrived Banner Blessing - at last! Scripture from my Mother Ship! Yes! I also seized the chance to clean up some Blenda-painted hot glue embellishments I had on my desk as well... The final card is surprisingly harmonious to my eye - thank goodness! Banner Blessings Stamp Set; Crumb Cake, Whisper White, Coastal Cabana & Bermuda Bay CS; Park Lane DSP; Bermuda Bay & Cherry Cobbler Inks; Cherry Cobbler Blendabilities; Confetti Stars Punch. New Year's Wreath Class December 13! I can FINALLY post a picture of our BEAUTIFUL New Year's Rosette Wreath, featuring the yummy All Is Calm DSP pack. It took me a week to work out how to get that little banner hung - argh! We will now use every scrap of our DSP sheets, lol - yes! So class is still on for Saturday December 13, 3:30 PM. All supplies included, $20. Treats and snacks will be on hand, for sure, still time for Christmas Cookies, right?? RSVP today so I can be sure to have your supplies ready for you! And of course, if either of the dates is no good for you, please do let me know and we will make it happen! Cheers! This week's bold central panel at Freshly Made Sketch #164 just cries out for a scripture feature, doesn't it? I'm also totally excited to hook up with a new (to me!) challenge blog - SU-per Challenges #65! They're based in the Netherlands - so excited to play! Yay! So, can you tell that my Moonlight DSP pack was still out on my desk from yesterday?? Lol... I had a lot of fun adding a few low-key elements to this clean sketch layout - it's so rare I have enough room for this giant sentiment, I didn't want to distract from it! While I'm a bit chagrined to use some other company on my inaugural visit to SU-per Challenges, I'm also reflecting that I will shortly have a new set of scriptures to play with that come straight from my Mother Ship! Can't wait to debut Banner Blessings! It's winging its way to me even as we speak! Hardwood & Our Daily Bread Scripture Collection 1 Stamp Sets; Sahara Sand, Hello Honey, Blackberry Bliss & Whisper White CS; Moonlight DSP Pack; Sahara Sand, Hello Honey & Blackberry Bliss Inks; White Baker's Twine; Neutrals Candy Dots in Sahara Sand. |
