 In{k}spire Me #331 has a New Year's challenge going, and I thought it'd be perfect for my New Year's Eve post! I am also completely thrilled and honored to debut my addition to the Sunday Stamps Challenge Design Team, with our color challenge #169 - I hope you'll join in with us! This whole card was all about if I could find a current stamp set that would fit - and I found just the one: Hearts Come Home has a New Year's mention that I think is meant to be an "inside" sentiment, but that I thought would work just as well on a card front. I thought I could make it stand out more by highlighting on a dark background, which of course lends itself to a peaceful evening scene with party stars for New Year's, lol. Yeah, I know, pink stars?? What can I say, they work for me, and it was added fun to make the windows match! I hope you'll join us over at Sunday Stamps - can't wait to see your creations!  It is SO fitting that my final challenge of 2016 will be this New Year's challenge from In{k}spire Me #281! Wahoo! So, I actually still had the retired Making Spirits Bright stamp set still on my desk from a post earlier this week, and one of my fave combos in that set is the bubbly stuff, lol. Seemed a natural to ink it up again and celebrate the New Year with champagne! Happy, happy New Year, everyone! Be safe, and enjoy yourselves! I added a few little retired elements to really make the New Year's transformation, but I hope you like the big swirl of champagne I squeezed in with the gorgeous Perfectly Artistic DSP from the upcoming Sale-A-Bration! Pretty sure there's a sheet of Tequila Sunrises in there, too... It was explained during our launch preview that this set is meant to be stamped OVER photos, like an overlay layer, but I'm so NOT a picture-taking person, so I'll have to see about that, lol. Anyway, I decided that many of the phrases were just perfect for New Year's, too! So I threw this card together in our colors. It'll be fun to figure out how else I can use this set! I'm so excited to announce our first class of the year - a super-fun version of the Perpetual Calendar Kit found on page 17 of your Occasions 2015 catalog! This calendar features a custom decorated and lined sheet for each month, where you can pencil in all your birthday ticklers!  Look at the cute sketch from this week's Nacho Average Challenge #117! So cheery! This thought led me to Making Spirits Bright - and what's more cheery than a little bubbly?? And hey, I have some bubbly paper, too, from the Lullaby DSP pack - shh, if you don't tell anyone it's really baby paper, they need never know! Hee hee. I carried my bubbles theme through in a few more ways - embossed dots, glitter - yummy! My spirit is lighter and brighter already!
