I'm excited to be back at Match the Sketch #181 - I've missed a couple! I'm combining it with this pretty inspiration pic from Just Add Ink #364! OK, I think I might have copped out a tiny bit on the inspiration pic - I saw that lovely copper pitcher, and that was it for me, lol. I thought, oo, I could play with the new Lemon Zest set, and make copper leaves - how cool would that be!! And so that's how it happened, sigh. Still, what a fun, fun set, and cute layout and details to play with - I do love it! Lemon Zest Stamp Set; Eastern Palace DSP; Whisper White, Lemon Lime Twist & Crushed Curry CS; Memento Tuxedo Black, Versamark, Lemon Lime Twist & Crushed Curry Inks; Copper EP; Layered Leaves EF; Layering Circles Framelits; Lemon Builder Punch; #MTS181; #JAI364. OK, check out this GORGEOUS inspiration pic from Paper Craft Crew #248! I'm matching it with this full-coverage sketch from In{k}spire Me #305! I knew as soon as I saw that PCC pic, I wanted to bring in Eastern Beauty - how not?! Now, I can't lie, this card was a beast to make, and yes, I have lots of new chad confetti all over the carpet, but I was determined to render some beautiful coordinating medallions, and jigsaw it all to the sketch. I'm pretty pleased at how it all came out - almost just as I imagined, I swear, lol. These are amazing colors together! Hint: today also marks the day I discovered that the circle in the Merry Tags Framelits is the perfect 'tween 1 1/8" - yay! Might have to move it to my Layering Circles set! Eastern Beauty Stamp Set; Whisper White, Pacific Point, Bermuda Bay, Tempting Turquoise & Lemon Lime Twist CS; Pacific Point, Tempting Turquoise, Bermuda Bay & Lemon Lime Twist Inks; Eastern Medallion Thinlits; Layering Circles & Merry Tags (retired?) framelits; Lemon Lime Twist Finely Woven Ribbon; Bermuda Bay 1/8" Ribbon; White Sequins; #PCC248; #IM305. OK, how cool is the theme at this week's Global Design Project #91 - "wheels?" I plan to make it happen using this nested sketch from Freshly Made Sketch #292, too! When I first started thinking about the "wheel" challenge, I had a little idea in mind - which promptly went out the window when I added in the nested shapes factor. See, you guys have no idea blogging is also my little personal exercise in more resilient flexibility, lol! I decided I wanted to do an alternate shape, and then I remembered my old Take It To Heart set - OMG, it's from 2012! Yikes! Oh well, you can't keep a good stamp down, right? I also still have my old Hearts Framelits that go with this set, and that laid in the perfect alternative for me - yay! Take It To Heart (retired) & Sunshine Sayings Stamp Sets; Whisper White, Silver Glimmer & Powder Pink CS; Memento Tuxedo Black Ink; Happy Heart EF (retired); Basic Jewel Rhinestones; #GDP91; #FMS292. Love this inspiration pic from Merry Monday #252 - so much to choose from! I think I'll use this fun sketch from Try Stampin' on Tuesday #326 to help out, too! I decided to focus on the pretty jars in the inspiration display, and add in a bit of greenery, too - so fun to play with all the Christmas toys! I also got to take our new Be Merry DSP out for a little test drive - these two patterns are my two first faves, can you tell? I love peppermint stripes for Christmas, lol, and speckle on any green just reminds me of childhood snowfalls, sigh. Not something we see much of here in Phoenix! Jar of Love & Jar of Cheer (retired) Stamp Sets; Be Merry DSP; Whisper White, Garden Green & Crumb Cake CS; Memento Tuxedo Black & Garden Green Inks; Everyday Jars & Pretty Pines Framelits; Cherry Cobbler Enamel Shapes; Cherry Cobbler Solid Baker's Twine; #Merry252; #TSOT326. I'm so excited I have the stamp set for What Will You Stamp #120 - Badges & Banners! I think this sketch from Stamp Ink Paper #103 will be perfect, AND I'll render everything in these fun colors from Color Throwdown #447! So, I wasn't feeling very vanilla today, lol, but hey, I think you can hardly tell that the Eastern Palace DSP is really with VV and not Whisper White, don't you? I decided to layer some of the badge shapes so that I could fit in my colors, and I love that look! I think this set might have to come out more often, now, lol. A little touch of ribbon, some bright Enamel Shapes, and I think this card is done! Badges & Banners Stamp Set; Eastern Palace DSP; Whisper White & Crumb Cake CS; Lemon Lime Twist, Crumb Cake & Tempting Turquoise Inks; Best Badge Punch; Tempting Turquoise Enamel Shapes; Lemon Lime Twist Finely Woven Ribbon; #WWYS120; #SIP103; CTD447. Love this landscape sketch from TGIF #111! I think I'll squeeze in Less Is More #332's "sweet thing" challenge, too! At the last second, I finally noticed that the LIM challenge is one-layer - argh!!! I had to rethink my strategy a bit, lol. I used a cut-out to sponge in a bit of a "rectangle" in Soft Sky - I kept it pretty faint. Next came three tasty ice cream cones - there was quite the discussion here about "good" ice cream colors, lol. Last came the sentiments in my darkest colors - I ended up putting the big birthday words on the front, rather than inside as I originally thought. Last, I just couldn't resist a few Iridescent Sequins to round things off - shh... Cool Treats Stamp Set; Whisper White CS; Soft Sky, Peekaboo Peach, Powder Pink; Sweet Sugarplum, Crumb Cake & Early Espresso Inks; Iridescent Sequins. Fusion has once again brought us an exciting combo - this fun curvy combo and the the "tulips on a bike" inspiration pic - I know just the thing! I think I'll sneak in these super fun colors from Paper Players #348, too - I think I'm going to be a sucker for anything with Lemon Lime Twist this year, lol! I also realized at the last second that I could sneak in the "Anything Goes" challenge at Retro Rubber #64, too, once I picked my stamp, lol... ...which was my beloved Pedal Pusher, from our 2016 Sale-A-Bration! Love this stamp set - the sentiments are just so perfect, and I can't wait to add in the new Bike Ride set, I'm just being restrained right now. Right this second, I can't think why, but there it is! Just making the party last, I guess, lol... Pedal Pusher (retired); Whisper White & Lemon Lime Twist CS; Memento Tuxedo Black, Lemon Lime Twist, Daffodil Delight & Pool Party Inks; Circles Collection Framelits (retired); Spring Flowers EF; Pool Party Candy Dots (retired); #FusionTulipBike; #PP348; #RR64. I love the offset focus of Case This Sketch #225! It's going to be so cute in these fresh colors from In{k}spire Me #304! Hm, what would be a good way to finagle all these colors? How about a bunch of little buildings? In The City to the rescue! This set was SO FUN to play with! I love line art for coloring in, but the bonus of this set is that pretty much everything has a "fill-in" stamp, too! 60 STAMPS in this one, boys and girls! Don't be overwhelmed, lol, just make your own Cracker Jack box neighborhood (or neighbourhood, yes, really!) Fun times... In The City & Lift Me Up Stamp Sets; Whisper White & Pool Party CS; Memento Tuxedo Black, White Craft, Pool Party, Calypso Coral, So Saffron & Bermuda Bay Inks; White EP; #CTS225; #IM304. I really like SU Only #176's "in the garden" theme - as always, I have high hopes for mine this year! This sketch from Paper Craft Crew #247 looks pretty perfect, and I even think I can squeeze in the colors from Color Throwdown #446! Woo! So glad I finally got a chance to use my Touches of Texture set - so many subtle details I'll get to add to my projects! I also decided to add in a sentiment from our brand new set Lovely Friends, as well - such a dynamic font, and great variety of shapes and sizes! I decided to feature some bees, 'cause they're doing such a favor in my garden right now - tomatoes and chilis and eggplants, oh my! Sometimes it gets a little too warm for these guys around here - I try to keep water and shade out for them! Touches of Texture & Lovely Friends Stamp Sets; Wild Wasabi, So Saffron & Whisper White CS; Memento Tuxedo Black, Wild Wasabi, Calypso Coral & Daffodil Delight Inks; #SUO176; #PCC247; #CTD446. Stamp Ink Paper #102's masculine challenge is perfect timing for Father's Day! I bet I can make it manly with this layout from Freshly Made Sketch #291, too! Today I settled on a little blend of old and new - my trusty Guy Greetings hasn't seen ink in a bit, and my new Tree Rings background stamp was giving me the hairy eyeball from my desk. So it just had to be, lol! I'm not sure that I've ever stamped this car from Guy Greetings, and while I initially planned to use the awesome truck from Country Livin', it was just too big. But it turns out I love this car, too! This will be a great Father's Day card for my Dad, and that's the greeting I put inside! Note: do I get strokes for refraining from adding sparkle or frippery? I better! Guy Greetings & Tree Rings Stamp Sets; Crumb Cake, Chocolate Chip & Whisper White CS; Early Espresso, Cajun Craze & Crumb Cake Inks; Stitched Shapes Framelits; Blender Pen (on the Tree Rings); #SIP102; #FMS291. |
