 So excited I can play at What Will You Stamp #158 this week with Amazing You! I'm going to try and sneak in a four-legged friend for Stamp Ink Paper #140, too! So, if we're going to celebrate, we should have balloons, right? Guess what, I have just the thing for that! How did I live so long without Bella & Friends?? Today's cute pup comes with his own balloon, and I decided to go all purple on him - my kind of birthday card! This was a fun way to combine stamp sets, I love chances to do that!  I was wondering who would get the first St Pat's challenge in front of me - this year's winner is Fusion's St. Paddy's, with this fun sketch and inspiration combo! I actually found this sketch to be a challenge, so I had to take a few liberties, of course, lol. The picture shows this cute little upside-down flower pot leprechaun suit, so I tried to pull that in a little in my own little corner feature, and I added some leaves and texture. This sentiment is from Lovely Friends, which I have been neglecting terribly! It has an amazing set of thinlits to go with that I have ended up not exploring as I should, sigh. Hopefully all this luckiness will push me along now, lol... So, my big plans had to be a bit redirected after I browsed my sets for a a nice "Spring-ey" sentiment - somehow I haven't really gone for any Easter sets this year, and I wanted something larger than Teeny Tiny Wishes. Hm, what about Happy Celebrations? Just the ticket! Spring is ALWAYS a time for new beginnings for me - especially in the garden, lol. I'm getting the beds cleaned up and out, and already planning this year's plantings which will go in over the next couple weeks here! I'm a little nervous - I've never actually played a tic-tac-toe challenge before, shh! I'm using Match the Sketch #218 to help me along, and squeezing in Just Add Ink #398's colors, too! Looking over my playing field, I went for the upper left diagonal: Ribbon-Flowers-Dots - and you KNOW I have to pick dots if it's on there. Once that decision was made, I kinda picked out my best ideas for those elements and plugged everything in to the sketch, using the colors. Wow! Wow, lots of play room in this week's Freshly Made Sketch #326! Let's see what happens when I add in this muted color scheme from Color Throwdown #482! Today's layout seemed like the perfect chance to try my hand at coloring in our new Sale-A-Bration DSP offering, Springtime Foils. I've seen a few samples out there that just look amazing, and it went so well with Petal Passion on Friday, I figured I could break out the Blends again! After doing up my fave pattern, I do like how it came out, BUT, the glossy specialty paper reacts a bit differently to the Blends than the more porous regular DSP did. Smooth and even backgrounds will be harder to achieve here, lol. What a great idea over at SU Only #195 this week - use your favorite sentiment! And since the one I have in mind has been around a while, I think I'll be matching up with Retro Rubber #81's sketch, too! So, hands down, my fave sentiment ever is this one from 2011's Pursuit of Happiness set, by Desmond Tutu. I'll be frank, there is so much pain at large in our world these days, I feel overwhelmed sometimes, and it just doesn't seem to get any better. Can't we get a break? The worst feeling ever is the fear that there isn't any point to anything I can do to effect the change I want to see. Then I am reminded by the Archbishop Tutu to keep doing my "little bit of good," and I think about ALL the little bits of good that I know must be out there, and I feel reconnected, reminded that I am a child of God, doing what I am called to do. For me, poinsettias mean our lovely Reason for the Season set, and I keep it just for them, lol. I kept it pretty simple, straight up candy stripe poinsettia, my fave font ever sentiment, AND I floated everything over a panel embossed with our brand new Basket Weave DEF! Super cute, and it comes in a fun SAB bundle, too! Even more exciting is that it will make a come back in our next annual catty - cue the heavenly choir! I'm loving it behind my Christmas decor here for sure! So, I've seen SO many Fabulous coloring samples with our new Blends on the gorgeous Petal Passion DSP that I had to break down and try it myself today. So fun! I'm amazed out how nicely the DSP colors up - I admit, I was worried I'd get wear and bleeding all over, but it worked like a CHARM - I think I might have to try my blends on my adult coloring book now, lol. Anyway, it's a little hard to see, but I also got to stretch my colors by using the different tones of my Rich Razzleberries, shh, I only cheated a little, lol. See you at the challenge!
