Something I do a lot this time of year is start browsing my stamp shelves for sets I haven't used in a while, or very often. These two definitely fit that bill! I ended up going pretty pared down, but I love the pops of color from CCMC! And of course, we all know I think dots are the happiest thing goin' on - and I went dot crazy here!  Wow, the DT samples for this week's Freshly Made Sketch #218 are AMAZING! So many cool ways to interpret - I never would have thought of some of these brilliant ideas, lol... I don't think I made quite as amazing a show here, but I so couldn't wait to aqua-paint the gorgeous Helping Me Grow flowers - even broke out my precious watercolor paper for this baby! I so can't wait to do the hyacinths next - I'm smitten! This one adds nicely to my collection of every line-art stem that Stampin' Up! has ever made, lol. I think feeding my addiction this way is called ENABLING, lol... Since I'm going all sweet today, I figured this would be a good match with Snuggles & Smooches - I love the scribbles in this one! I've never used the feature stamp, though, so today is the DAY! I did a hunt for some tasty pink DSPs and got to work - sweet and cute, but not TOO sweet, lol. Have those pink Valentine's marshmallows been spotted yet? I have a weakness for rice crispy treats made with those... Ah, a nice fresh Christmas card challenge from Merry Monday #186 - white on white! I so rarely do what I did for today's card - NO STAMPING at all! Lol. It always freaks me out a bit when that happens... I decided to combine some die cut images and text and see what happened, with some texture, too. It was fun to play with the pieces - it went pretty quick, and I love the result - I just wish it photographed better! With these colors, I decided to spring again for the awesomely versatile Perfectly Artistic DSP from this year's Sale-A-Bration catalog - so swirly! And of course, I have a feeling I'll be using a lot of Blackberry Bliss before it retires this summer, too, lol. I'm not in mourning yet, but, sigh, I can see it coming... I also decided to try my hand at fussy cutting the big bold sentiment in the Hello stamp set, another SAB item - it was totally doable! I think this all came together very cute! OK, is our latest Pumpkin kit, One Great Year, just about the cutest ever?! This was one of those times that I was SO glad I get two kits, lol, one I could make pretty much exactly as instructed, and one to play with here for you all, at My Pumpkin Challenge! Our theme is MPC-0116 - A Full Year of Fun, and I have a feeling we'll all be putting our own twist on THAT idea! For me, my plan is to share with you my quick notes I'm getting ready for the new year. And in January, I have FOUR birthdays right off the bat! Help me, Pumpkin! I decided to do a little set of birthday notes, and feature two of the lovely background papers that came in the kit - the polka dots, which I always thinks are happy, happy, happy! I love polka dots (But I don't wear them. Sheets and towels? Yes. Clothes? No. I wish I could, lol.) I added in a past pumpkin sentiment, and some balloon accessories, dressed up some cute envelopes, and yay, they are ready to go! I can't wait to see your ideas out at the challenge, too! Got a glitzy color challenge at this week's TGIF #36 - Silver, Black and Gold! I'm pretty fascinated by the possibilities of the Rose Garden Thinlets that go with our gorgeous new Rose Wonder stamp set. I decided I wanted to play with the the little leaflet sprig in various glimmer papers, but then, er, I wanted to keep it spare and simple, see, and add some texture, and well, that seemed to call out for the sympathy sentiment. So somehow I've made a glitzy sympathy card without meaning to, but hey, I really like how it came out, and I never seem to have sympathy cards on hand when I need them, so I'm keeping it! While I can't stay away from my new favorite stamp set, Balloon Celebration, I'm also kicking myself that I haven't gotten that tea suite yet to go with some of the adorable sentiments included. Then I remembered: I HAVE a teacup! Let's break it out! Good ole' Paper Pumpkin - always got me covered! Loving the layered look of this fabulous sketch from Create With Connie and Mary #387! I turned right away to my lovely Pretty Petals DSP stack for this one - I knew I could get all the little banner layers to coordinate perfectly that way! The only problem would be to exercise some restraint, lol - not my strong suit! I did the best I could on that, and decided to bring in one of the cute sentiments from Suite Sayings - that set is turning out to be amazingly versatile! Almost all of them fit in a punch, too - yeah, baby! Look at this pretty color challenge from Nacho Average Challenge #174 - a little touch of silver! I also read at the challenge that my beloved Nachos are hanging up their challenge hats - what a bummer! They do have a new project to share with us soon, can't wait to find out, but in the meantime, thanks for all the great challenges and inspiration ladies - my fave Nachos ever! I'm so glad I did a quick double check of what colors come in the gorgeous Perfectly Artistic DSP from this year's SAB - Soft Sky here I come! The pretty wash of delicate color totally made me think of a breezy day, and what's better that balloons on a breezy day? I can tell, I'm going to be putting balloons on EVERYTHING, lol...
